  1. Thanks for confirming. Right now we will leave it as the fields, if they are not filled then they will not appear. I think it would be just as bloated with toggle switches for each, as you are technically just adding to it. Or am I missing something ?
  2. I assume you can see the Social Badge fields in the premium section however......?
  3. You will have to bare with us as it looks like there are couple of items to rectify. 1. @ notices are too bright 2. Social Badges, everyone seems to have the same badges for some reason.
  4. Not to worry, the blacklisting will be getting used ! Well not long to wait bud, the Dark Theme I am hoping to launch later today, but I will only do it if you are being a good boy. Oh nice ! I have one of those GPU'S. Overkill, but nice haha.
  5. Not sure if serious, however it is not yet available. Should be in the next 24 hours or so, literally got one or two kinks to work out.
  6. Never spill the tea! It is a crime.
  7. Hello all, So I am pleased to announce that we have just released the following features for EHW. Dark Theme Social Badges Custom User Status Configurable Homepage (The ability to hide the "Latest" Widgets, the Carousel & the Sidebar) Tip Me To find these new features please refer to our Site Guide & Features topic Furthermore we added some additional tools to further enhance the user experience. Preview Button. While there is a preview function inbuilt in the software we use, it is not very obvious. As such we have now implemented a "Preview" button that will reside next to the "Submit/Edit Topic" buttons. Rich Content Embed. By default if you post an internal link in a topic, it will embed, showing you a preview of the content which looks much nicer than a plain link. Well the good news is that this will now work with external links too. You can now use the "Reveal More" function on the "Latest" Widgets to reveal more activity! Please note that with regard to Social Badges, we are still waiting to add some last stragglers to this list, so please do not be alarmed if you do not see all decided on social badges from this LIST. We hope you enjoy these new additions All the best, Team EHW.
  8. Hello all, So we have been down for a few days now much to my regret and disappointment. There were a couple of factors that led up to this issue. 1. We were experiencing some template conflicts which lead to posts and the editor disappearing. Many of you will have seen this. 2. Breach & Data deletion. These two combined meant that having the site online was untenable. From my current investigations I have tracked a couple of logins within our infrastructure, seemingly from an old administrator who's access was revoked, or at least that was what was thought. Unfortunately this person decided to delete some of the data that related to our uploads folder. This would include such things as anything image based as well as attachments. The individual also disabled our data versioning, which is essentially the backup solution to the main storage, they also deleted a large portion of our backups. Fortunately I had a backup of the sites data, but unfortunately it is not a backup that covers the entire lifetime of the site. This was a malicious attack only. I and my two admins have checked and there was not any data removed nor compromised. Plus any data obtained would have been encrypted in any case. So rest assured everyone's user data is safe. We do not believe the template issue was related to the data loss, this looks to be an inherent issue with the caching technology being used at the time. We are no longer using it, as such we expect the template issue to be resolved. How on earth did this happen ? Ultimately the buck stops with me. While I employ other members of staff present and in the past to help with administration and development, it is my responsibility to ensure continuity. While we indeed had backups in place, these do not help if another has access to be destructive. Unfortunately it seems that a past admin, all of a sudden decided it was time to cause issues. I had asked one of our more recent admins to ensure that all security protocols were in good standing, which included the removal of old logins/access. However evidently this was either not completed, or simply not undertaken properly. However that being said, I should have double checked. As I say the buck stops with me, I can only apologise for this oversight. So what does this mean ? Moving forward there will inevitably be missing images and attachments from across the site. This includes user avatars, so if yours is not showing, that will be why. At this point for anything that was uploaded to the site that is no longer appearing, it is gone, as we do not have additional backups in order to restore it. I can only profusely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. What has changed now we are live? During the downtime I decided that we would do a full migration of the site from the infrastructure we were on from AWS to a dedicated server. The reason for this is mainly due to management and efficiency. While AWS is impressive, it is by no means efficient, especially when it comes to the deployment of software updates and custom development work. After months of fighting with it, I saw an opportunity to move while the site was down. It was the case of making the best of a bad time. Furthermore, due to this incident we now have multiple offsite backups in place as well as the local backups. What now ? We are working on restoring some of the missing visual elements to the site. We have reverted back to a default template and we will be re-introducing some of the missing visuals that we had all become accustomed to. This includes the Rep Meter, User group titles (on mobile), Increased avatar sizes both on desktop and mobile & more. So bare with my while I work to get everything back to normal. Ok, so I am back, is there anything I could do ? There is nothing you as a user you need to do, however if you would like to help out, you could try doing the following. 1. Re-upload your avatar (if it is one the missing ones) 2.Re-add images or attachments to your content if it has been affected. 3. If you come across some strange behaviour or something you think could be a bug, please report it in our Submit A Bug section Anything new ? Well we have installed a couple of new features and we are just finishing up the first phase plugin which will include Dark Theme, Custom User Status's & Social Badges. However we will reveal all this in full in the coming days. ............................................................................................................................................................................. In summary I can only carry on apologising for the current state of affairs. We aim high but there have been some rough times and stumbles, this being one of them. I hope to carry on seeing you all round these parts despite the frustrations and inconvenience caused to you all. Kindest Regards, E
  9. Hello all, So I wanted to create a very brief guide to go over the Marketplace section to help solve any immediate questions. Marketplace Categories When using the marketplace section, you have the following categories to choose from. Sale: Used for selling items to other members for a cash value. Trade: Used when you would like to do a straight trade of one product for another. Wanted: If you are looking to acquire a product, you would use this to put up a wanted ad to see if any other members has what you want. Appraisal: Used if you are needing other members to evaluate the worth of a product you may sell. Marketplace Advert Submission Form - Overview When you create an advert you will be presented with various section for filling out, the below is to server as a brief description for each section. Item Condition - This is where you tell interested parties the condition of your item from New, Used or Used Other. It is important to be realistic and truthful to avoid misrepresentation of your item. Packages Available - You can select how long you would like your advert up for, from 3,10,20 to 30 days. For each period selection we have a "Featured" version. The featured version is a premium advert variant meaning that your advert will be further promoted across the marketplace section and will appear on the forum homepage. Advert Images - As you would imagine, this is where you upload an image of your sale item. Advert Information - This is where you will create the titles of your advert along with the description of the product. It is important that you be as accurate and succinct as possible. Furthermore in this section you can specify the quantity of the item you are selling along with adding a location of the item (optional) which can aid in showing another user whereabouts the item is coming from. This could help with respects to collections. Price - This is where you set the price of your item, or how much you are willing to pay in the case of a Wanted ad. Due to a system limitation, you have to fill out ALL of the currency fields here. For currencies you are not interested in, please fill it with a 0. Additional Information - Here you can fill out geographical areas you are willing to ship to, or in the case of a wanted item you can select areas you would like to purchase from. Furthermore in the case of sale items, you can offer buyers collection as an option. Contact Details - From here you can select how members contact you from you ad. You have PM selected by default, however you can also choose to provide an email address or in the "Other" field you can put in other methods of contact such as direct call, Whatsapp, Telegram, Skype, etc. Shipment - Here is where you can add shipment methods for a buyer to choose from. In the "Shipment Name" field you will want to enter the type of courier & service used. In the "Shipment Value field" is where you will put the cost of said service. Due to a system limitation, you have to fill out ALL of the currency fields here. For currencies you are not interested in, please fill it with a 0. What payment methods are accepted? PayPal. For security reasons and for buyer/seller protection we opted to use PayPal. I have sold something, how do I get my money? When a user has paid for your item, your monies will be held in the EHW PayPal account as the middle man. Your monies will be held in the form of Credit on the site. You can use this credit to either purchase site items or subscriptions. If you would like to withdraw the credit into your PayPal account as a cash value you will want to visit the Credit & Withdrawals section (Also located under the Marketplace section on the site nav bar). From here you can select to withdraw the credit, you will then be asked to provide a PayPal email you would like the monies to be transferred to.

  13. Fingers crossed for lack of beatings. Nice Bear btw. Put it in your living room !
  14. A free upgrade transition is something I am hoping for. However I am not sure MS will be as desperate this time as they were when trying to get people from Win 7 to Win 10. I guess we will see.
  15. So essentially there are two ways we can process payments. In the first instance a buyer would purchase an item through the marketplace. The monies get put into the EHW paypal for safe keeping. In the meantime the seller gets notified of the purchase and their money is held on the site in the form of 'Credit'. The seller can then choose to withdrawer the Credit in the form of cash from the EHW paypal to their own paypal account. Or the other way is exactly as above, but we "EHW" have to approve the transaction manually on top of the above, which can help to act as a cooling off period before we approved it. Due to time limitations we will not opt to manually approve all transactions. We would only move to this method if there were significant scamming etc. However as the classifieds has a degree of entry requirements, which will weed out some of the hit and runners
  16. Hello all, So the good news is that the testing thus far has been a success. I hope to have this released in the next day or so. However note that there are a couple of bugs that will be fixed upon the next release of the core software. I have also spoken with the core developer of the software and supplied him with documentation on how to replicate the goold old i-Trader rating system so users can once again leave feedback for eachother. I have not ETA on when that aspect will be available but hopefully in the works soon. Apologies for how long this has taken, this was related to waiting a month for Paypal to enable mass payment access. All the best, E
