  1. Well I am glad to hear that you have found solace in a community, even better to hear that it is EHW. I know just how important it is to be part of something, but especially if their are obstacles and curveballs that life tends to throw. It can be therapeutic having an escape and others to confide in. Yes, one of thee goals here was to have minimal scripts and tracking running on the site, it is a massive turn off to many, especially those in the I.T field with a better understanding of just what those scripts and trackers are doing. These days you cannot be ZERO tracked, that would be a fools errand, but you can certainly minimize it. Kind words, thank you. The mission from day one was to get that Vibe back from the good old days that I had been missing. It was not enough to have wonderful content and information, there has to be a form of continuity between members, that coming together community feel. Once EHW had got more on its feet, I definitely started to get that vibe back and it is that vibe that drives the passion! If you are not passionate about something, unless there is a reason to be there, you probably shouldn't. Fairly sure they call that solidarity @Andrew It is wonderful to see some new faces here. It is always a privilege to have new people in the community. If anyone who is new here has any questions about the site and the EHW community, please feel free to ask. I know joining anything new can be a little jarring at first, happy to ease everyone in Furthermore, thank you for the kind words from all. Together we can make EHW great, its all down to the community and I have faith we will all do great things! My "Retirement" from OCN I think was needed to allow me to focus on more important projects, which ultimately is just EHW. It comes at a large financial penalty to myself, but that is how life rolls sometimes, you move forward and look for other opportunities! Everyone feel free to spread the word, bring your friends and lets grow this family!
  2. Yeah that was some BS and the start of the removal of OCN management as far as I am concerned. My aim is to have EHW replicate the best parts of what OCN was. It was a working formula, you don't fix what isn't broke as they say. Yeah I have made a post in the staff area on OCN as well as a public statement here : Just a moment... WWW.OVERCLOCK.NET
  3. Hello all. Today I received notification from Verticalscope that my services are no longer required at Overclock.net. This was a long time coming as Verticalscope since the acquisition of the site has slowly but surely consolidated the site in all respects, including the gradual removal of Staff which included The_Manual, which happened a little while back. So from this point onwards, there will be no OG management and all management tasks will fall to VS staff directly or they will put in place someone unfamiliar. Any of the existing moderators/staff will now have to look to VS for any support. I will not be staying on at OCN in any capacity, while I could volunteer, I feel my time with the site has come to its end as it is no longer a site I am passionate about and the community ethos, in my humble opinion has been lost. My time with OCN since 2004 under the original ownership/leadership was THE golden era and I'm happy and incredibly privileged to have been a part of the journey. I look back to the golden years with many fond memories of achievements had by myself and others as well as the genuine sense of "community" that OCN fostered. OCN was the "Right place at the right time" for me. I was at a stage in life that was really difficult and being a part of the community at that time was the positivity I needed to grow and overcome some obstacles, for that I will be forever thankful. During my time I have gained life long friends to whom I have been in contact with now for many years, for the most part I have never met any of you in person, but you guys are my community, regardless of the sites name. This is the wonderful thing about the internet, friendships can span globally! What I have learned during my tenure with OCN during the golden era was invaluable and the experience gained has helped to nurture my own growth, personally and professionally. My time with OCN towards the latter days illustrated to me that I could start my own adventure, hence EHW. I have been thankful that the familiar crowd I have come to know as friends have also decided to hang out with me here on EHW, cant be luckier really! So, that is it as they say. I guess I will take a stroll to the OCN retirement beach and join the others at long last All the best, E
  4. Only 1 shirt. The one with the GPU PCB over the grid. Only 1 was ordered as this is a quality check only.
  5. Yeah, there will always be those who will purchase this due to the Epeen value, that is for sure. No doubt it will be a BEAST of a GPU. But certainly nothing to laud over for those who already have a 4090. Looking forward to the official pricing of this, it will be astronomical.
  6. Thanks for the update bud. That is one long PDU!
  7. Sample set of merch has been purchased. Now just to wait for shipping
  8. Other than the VRAM I wouldn't say this was heaps better than the 4090...at least on paper.
  9. Thanks for the submission. We can consider these for the next round of merch content. The concern I have with the second submission is the MIT logo, it could be misconstrued that we have a relationship with MIT and I do not want to misrepresent either parties. We have to be wary of that type of thing. As an update, I am hoping to order the test merch this weekend for validation.
  10. Good to see you Mr! The A770, so far as Nvidia GPU's, what is it comparable to ? Your Overclocking adventures with the A770 will these be public ? Would be good to see what you can push it too!
  11. Blower style is certainly great for a Folding machine.
  12. The issue is the additional administration involved in manually adding people to Patreon platform that have purchased from the store. No small task to keep on top of. Automation is also tricky unless there is an API to do that. It is worth noting that buying merchandise from them and Patreon are VERY different things. They are two different revenue streams. One is continual (Patreon) and the othe is a one off or infrequent (Store). Why would you give away a Patreon spot worth say $5 PER MONTH, for a SINGLE purchase of an item worth...well virtually any amount on their store. Their patreon is a reliable and continual income. Compromising that would be ill advised. So keeping Patreon and the Store separate is just good business sense. While GN is very community focused, they are a business and to stay afloat doing what they do, they need to operate that way.
  13. Indeed, these can be used as prizing as well
  14. Thanks all. We will no longer be taking any further submissions as we have more than enough to select from at this point I will be ordering some samples to check the quality sometime this weekend. Once quality is confirmed as good, then there will be the process of selecting the products that will make it to the store for order Thanks, E
  15. As @Avacadosays, these boys run HOT HOT HOT. They need a good amount of active cooling to remain at stock speeds when at 100% loads, otherwise you throttle.
  16. Correct. Last time I looked the images are set to be downscaled. So best bet is to stick to Zip files as you mentioned.
  17. Ahh my bad. Ok will wait for Fluxmaven
  18. @neurotix Could you send myself and @UltraMegathe two below designs minus the foreign language ? Thanks, E
  19. I really enjoyed that watch, to get some insight into the behind the scenes was really cool, and to see the team pull together one last time to thrash a 4090. It is a tremendous loss that EVGA is stepping out of the GPU game. I really wished that the relationship between EVGA and Nvidia could have been a better one, or smoothed out. However from what I know, Nvidia was being uncompromising. Huge loss for consumers and at the end of the day, this is a loss for Nvidia. They kind of shot themselves in the foot with this one. To be fair, I think it makes perfect sense. While it would be great to give everything away, the real world does not work that way I think people seem to believe that YT Revenue, Merch and Patreon alone brings in all the revenue needed for a team. However when you consider their office/lab space, the staff, component purchases for independent reviews, costs for journalism related trips, camera's lighting etc etc. That all mounts up QUICK and they need some way to fund it. If an outlet of any description provides good quality content that I enjoy on a frequent basis, I have always believed in supporting that continued effort. That is why I have a GN Mouse mat
  20. If MSI do take it on, hopefully they will keep it an open tool and not put in restrictions to make it an MSI biased tool.
  21. On mobile, next to the site logo, there are 3 lines you click on to access the site nav menu (3 line button is referred to as the "Hamburger"). Once the nav menu is open, towards the bottom you will see an option to mark the site as read.
