  1. Just so im not going mad here. Are we talking about the "Mark Site As Read" that is in the mobile menu bar which is accessible via the hamburger icon ? Or are we talking about something else. Can someone screenshot and show ?
  2. Hey all, So this thread moved on somewhat since my last look. Firstly, apologies for being delayed. The last couple of weeks have been very busy with work and some other personal projects, which also includes prep work for moving the forums to the forefront of ExtremeHW, but more on that elsewhere. A huge thanks for all the input from everyone, whether it be artwork, comments and advice. This is really booming into something very exciting. Right now due to my time constraints, Mr @UltraMega has been kind enough to lend a hand on this, just so it does not get delayed. Big thanks to Ultra! Moving forward this will be the order of things: 1. Collect ideas/artwork from the members 2. Upload graphics and apply them to applicable merch on a single etailer site 3. E to login to etailer and sift through the designs 4. E to collect approved designs and set up a poll with a view to members selecting final products 5. Order a set of merch from one etailer. If good, we stick with it. If poor we move one to the next etailer. 6. Make the products live for all. Please note that we cant run before we walk. This process is to select a base set of products to start with. After we are happy with the base products, we can then add additional products. So fear not. All the best, E
  3. Hello all, This is super exciting to see. I love the enthusiasm, the passion and the graphics presented by all of you, really inspired! Ultimately I am super happy for us to have any sort of merch with graphics I approve. @UltraMega Perhaps we can talk more about the solutions used whereby either yourself or an outside etailer handles all the orders on our behalf. I am aware that these sort of etailers exist whereby you throw graphics at them and they apply them to particular types of merch, then a consumer will order said merch through their etailer site and the etailer and originator (EHW) take a cut. I however admittedly have not sat down and really looked into it. Perhaps @UltraMegawe can take this to PM and discuss this some more ? Ideally I would like to locate an etailer that will provide for international needs. Any e-tailer we use, I would have to do a trial run of merch sent to me to verify its quality before sticking with them. For starters we need to keep things simple at first. I feel that we should have three product's as a launch platform. Perhaps Stickers, T-Shirt, Mugs ? Looking forward to hearing more. Thanks, E
  4. Oh **** bringing the heat then!...Literally. Great for winter ha.
  5. My personal view on this is if I was working a home business, said customer would only see the "Working Area" and no more. Plus the working area would be cleared of all items not necessary for the needs of the customer. This means that should the customer be of questionable character, they are only seeing what you allow them to see and you are not openly advertising items for theft. Furthermore I would have a Camera in said area operating, only even if it be during the customers visits. This tells them they are on camera and will likely deter them from any prior thoughts of theft. Personally my house is outfitted with CCTV inside and out, in key areas. I live in a town and occasionally move expensive gear in and out. So I make it clear that if you come for me, I will catch you lol. I think its good to help others/have a business but you must protect yourself. Especially if its at your home, for you and your families sake. ..... and yes...all clients should ve invited to EHW for online customer support Should give out our EHW business cards!
  6. Ha no probs bud. Just as an update I have made the following alterations that will apply to all Premium Account holders and Staff. Maximum post submission size increased from 55Mb to 100Mb Gallery image upload limit increased from 2Mb to 10Mb (15Mb for Platinum) Thanks, E
  7. I did that on the say I made the changes to this thread
  8. Correct, Overall Storage Quote & Maximum Post size are tied to user groups. I have just altered it so that Premium Users and Staff users have a new Max Post size of 100mb, Standard members will remain at 55mb
  9. While MSI Afterburner updates have stalled for a while, I do not think that MSI will let it crash and burn considering the following it has and that it is almost the defacto tool for GPU monitoring/overclocking. EVGA Precision is OK, but IMHO nothing on MSI Afterburner. Looking at the updates to the Article, it seems that MSI are confident it is not the end. However WB said that about Henry Cavil and Superman, and we know how that went lol.
  10. Welcome to EHW, David! I hope you enjoy your stay with us and I look forward to seeing you around on the forums
  11. Hey bud. I appreciate the follow-up. Since my last update where we undertook some cost cutting measures we are in a better place, most of which is helped by our generous donors. With site development having reached maturity, it helps that outgoings on software development has slowed down which helps with costs. I would never say it has stopped as there will always be the occasional cost of fixing or improving something, but these are occasional and is no great thing. As per the 2023 Plan, the focus is on site promotion as opposed to building. With the changes in making the forum the forefront of EHW, this should help. Once the switch around is completed, my aim is to then have a Google Ads person help me with launching the Ads on the site to further generate revenue. With said revenue, at "Some point" likely towards the end of 2023 I would like to re-look into some low cost SEO to further promote the site. Anything left over I would like to put into our current running competitions as prizing, hopefully with site promotion and with the Ads launched, this will further help in running costs as well as increasing prize values.
  12. Hey Ultra, I can look into it. What file extension is it using? Thanks, E
  13. Back in the day I got caught up in the whole "Let's play with the Pagefile" and found ultimately, there are no gains in changing it and letting Windows manage it was best. To be perfectly honest, Windows does a good job at not being overzealous with the PF size.
  14. I will have to keep that in mind. Yeah its super useful to be able to browse the images at a folder/file level allowing for easy restore. EaseUS ToDo Backuo has this feature as well, certainly made my life easier Glad you got your Minecraft files back.
  15. Have you tried EaseUS Partition Master ? This program has saved me a few times with drives where others have failed miserably. Also consider Minitool Partition Manager.
  16. I promise you, It has not been without its upsets and challenges but it's how the new owners want it, so I will go with the flow.
  17. Welcome to EHW bud, good to have you here with us
  18. Well as I thought, it looks like this move is welcomed. I will start making preparations with the team to make this move happen Thanks for the input all! E
  19. Hello all. As part of the 2023 initiative I am wanting to ensure that we are capturing as much traffic as possible with a view to growing our community. Over 2022 I have been developing the forums homepage to capture as many different content types as possible, including our reviews. This has been in an effort to make the homepage a one stop shop digest of ExtremeHW overall. I strongly feel that we are at a point whereby on the forums homepage, it is difficult to "miss out" on the daily goings on within the community. At the moment our ExtremeHW.net domain points directly to our reviews site, however the heart of the community is on our forums, at forums.extremehw.net. Much of our traffic hits extremehw.net but our forums capture a very small percentage of that. So I am wanting to switch things up and host our forums on the forefront of our domain, extremehw.net. Now that forum experience is where I want it, it seems counterproductive to hide it behind a subdomain and have people pass us by. Generally speaking, if you have not captivated a passer by within the first 10 seconds, you likely wont. Instant first impressions are so important. I feel that this move will have little affect to the reviews side of EHW as we promote the reviews heavily on the forums homepage via the carousel and the "Latest Reviews" block. Just as a note, the reviews site will still exist as is, it would now be moved to a subdomain. I am happy to hear thoughts on this move before I commit to it. Many Thanks, E
  20. That is sweet dude, well done for the amazing contributions!
  21. Happy New Year to all. I hope 2023 brings everyone prosperity and progress! Lots to do this year on my end, so keeping my fingers crossed lol. All best, E
  22. You will need a rooted device, or perhaps a custom OS to change it further.
  23. A device with 2GB of RAM may struggle if you increase background app count too far. To be fair, within reason, assuming you have a decent amount of RAM, Android handles the background apps really well. Setting it to 50 will likely murder your device and will run poorly. Max I would set would be 10 considering the 2GB RAM.
