I voted in your poll, but I don't use a Steam Deck, nor would I likely ever use one. HOWEVER, I bought one for my child. So here's my position. From my perspective, my child absolutely LOVES his Steam Deck. He takes it everywhere he can because its got all of his favorite games on it. That's all he uses it for, and that's all I bought it for him for. So for HIS use case, its strictly for gaming (which is what I voted in the poll). ME PERSONALLY - I can't stand portable computing at all in general. Give me a proper monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a chair and I'll go to town. Laptop or "steam deck"? No thanks, I'll sit and scroll youtube on my phone before I'll use either of those 9/10 times.

Part of my New Year New Games challenge to myself, EctorPlays and Ord's Sim Channel invited me to play Star Citizen with them. So, I went ahead and picked up a copy and gave it a try. WWW.TECHSPOT.COM Update: The leaker now claims the card will be the RX 9070 XT 32GB, priced much higher than the standard version, and will launch at the... Interesting. As usual, seems like competition might be growing, but this time its looking like the 5070 and 9070 might be the cards people are fighting over this round. We'll see.

Here's what's happened to the 12VHPWR power cable of our NVIDIA RTX 4090 after two years of continuous work WWW.DSOGAMING.COM So, what has happened to the 12VHPWR power cable of our RTX 4090 after two years? Has it melted? Let's find out. These guys are reporting that their cables are in fact melted after 2 years of use in the 4090, but they work just fine. Seems to be the same reporting as we're hearing about those power cables only having one path of power for the card (one shunt). 4090 owners probably should check up on their cables if they haven't for a while.

If anybody uses Discord's Nitro thing, you can still get a free month of gamepass with a Nitro subscription. It's just a one month free pass though. Not quite what is being asked for. Sorry, I don't know of any other deals atm myself. -

Everything else you said is spot on, I have nothing further to add or comment to on those points. This though.....because I scored a super rare Socket 939 motherboard with a 785G chipset from AM2+ on it with the onboard HD4200 that does hybrid crossfire. I also scored a dual HD 3450 card (ebay recommended it to me) for like 9 bucks. I was curious if I could get tri CFX to work with the onboard. Turns out at least so far, the answer is yes it works kinda? We've bashed it against the wall enough times it now has crossfire enabled across the onboard and the second core on the GPU. Not sure why, still trying to figure it out, possibly wrong driver. If onboard is disabled though, the dual HD 3450 card enables crossfire on its own absolutely no problem (even though nobody answered this directly decades ago). These really old ATI cards definitely had driver issues (after retirement for sure, AMD killed their performance with last release drivers). I do also have a real HD 3470 card that I can try and pair with the dual GPU card at a later date in a real crossfire supported setup if I want to continue trying with actual cards and not the onboard. Again, its more just because though. Lots of people asked these questions, and nobody ever actually tried and figured it out. The answer on these questions is, "its not worth it for the performance". I'm curious if its possible, and that answer was never actually found when these cards were new. Otherwise, it was just because of that motherboard find though. Wanted to build it into a working HTPC box instead of using a Roku, just because it was more fun to look at, and its got SUPER rare components in it in 2025. -

To be fair, there's something a lot of us enthusiasts tend to forget about. That "basic display output" is more than plenty enough to play MILLIONS of gaming titles out there. The fact that integrated graphics in 2025 even CAN play a video game at all (at 720p / low settings) is absolutely freaking AMAZING. Or are we forgetting the days of Intel graphics, SiS integrated, and things like the GT 210 or X1300 cards for example. The cards that really couldn't play games at all (even older games) at 640x480. I'm working on tri crossfire HD3450's right now actually. I assure you, you guys don't want to go back to the days of older basic graphics adapters and integrated solutions. This HD4200 is an absolute joke, honestly doesn't even really handle 1080p video playback. The fact that modern integrated cards CAN play gaming titles at all is a huge leap forward from where things used to be. Making that integrated graphics better, is only a good thing in my opinion. Yeah its for "turdbooks", sure. Most of your kids these days though, the next generation of enthusiasts, are on "turdbooks" though. That's something we as adults and life long enthusiasts tend to forget about too. -

Of course AMD would be concentrating on their integrated graphics solutions, but holy cow. This should be great news for laptop users!

Update: So huge thanks to @ENTERPRISEover these last few weeks. Thanks to troubleshooting, and tickets being sent galore to everywhere, we believe we might FINALLY have our logins working for the site functions behind the scenes. This was a google issue, not a handover issue guys. Anyway, figured I'd do a quick site update here for you guys. The plan from here: We want to get all site functions back online. Site donations are priority #1 so we can restore people's premium membership roles. After that is ticked off the list and functioning, we want to tackle the Etsy store, and perhaps add some more things into that store. Also a huge huge shoutout to everybody who signed up to help out as staff on the site and discord. Seriously you guys all ROCK!!!!! We will be doing another round of hiring once things are added back to the site and as we grow. I am TRYING to keep a list of all current staff members on the new staff discord (staff only). Once I'm confident that list is accurate, I'll post it publicly on site so everybody knows who everybody is and what the roles are. PLEASE IF YOU ARE STAFF AND NOT IN THAT DISCORD SEND ME A DM. I'M NEW HERE. This transition has been rough for everybody for sure. But I'm super hopeful guys and gals, we're receiving a lot more positive feedback than we were anticipating from this venture! And like I've stated, its management's position that we'll be reinvesting into the community. So hopefully we'll see some great things in the coming years! We literally ARE one of a kind here at EHW.
