  1. reset to stock, run xmp on ram, boot with all your drives, if they all come up it was the OC, if its still dropping i only have 2 possible ideas left either your SATA controller/chipset needs driver updates (which is very unlikely but ive seen it before) or you're using a faulty SATA cable. (yes it may look fine but it could be shorting internally)
  2. yeah that definently sounds like some kind of drive issue. it sounds almost as if that drive's controller doesnt like the SATA/PCIe controller on your board EDIT: you could try driver/chipset updates and see if that fixes it
  3. your monitor has firmware updates just like your BIOS has updates on your motherboard, if you are having strange connection loss issues or anything UPDATE YOUR MONITOR FIRMWARE i just walked someone through this process before he drove 2 hours to bring me his GPU for testing. his monitor was 6 firmware versions behind. he did an update to it and has had no issues since! i know i sound like a broken record, but alot of us forget these things as we go about our daily lives. and yes, i know not all cheaper monitors offer it, but usually anything over $500 does
  4. this sounds more like a specific drive issue than a 1mhz oc issue, i bumped mine up 1mhz to test your theory and i lost no drive, not nvme or sata
  5. WHATS THE CODE 1.....2......3......4......5 sigh 12345! sounds like something a moron would have on his luggage! whats the code? 12345 thats amazing thats exactly whats on my luggage! in other news...OCN was at its prime in like 2012-2014 ish, when all of us were there and actually cared. now its a site full of mostly trolls.....
  6. pulling a balancer or a wheel bearing thats still on the spindle?
  7. just about everyone, and most of us are all wearing the same names aswell
  8. is getting bigger by the day OCN has become more of a "corperation" than a computer forum as of late.
  9. yeeeah thanks for reminding me of the flush i need to do and the coolant i cant afford #collegelife
  10. thats because OCN belongs to the shills now. welcome to the human section
  11. my girlfriend hung ceramic fish on the bathroom wall. i knocked the big yellow one off at 2am going to take a piss. needless to say the fish became 15 million tiny sharp pieces in the middle of the night. dont let her hang things in the bathroom. youll regret it
  12. bant because my 1998 GMC Safari says his truck isnt manly enough
  13. i didnt know we were getting philosophical today. im not coherant enough for this
  14. i have this want to see someone do a desert camo type build with noctuas for some reason.
  15. in that case ill throw two more in: my Pentium II w/MMX way back when, which was the first PC i ever built i think i was 11 at the time. and my AMD FX-64. you were the king of kings my friend. wherever you ended up.
  16. i have a few favorites. some new some old. but since i have to only pick one. my old first-gen i5-750. that chip took a beating from me overclocking. so much of a beating in fact it kept ticking after a board blew the VRM through it doing sub zero OCing.
  17. bant for making me think of the little digital DNA guy in jurassic park going "Dinosaurs" in his really thick accent
  18. ill take what i can get, i an dealing alot in SQL and stuff aswell. so i know your pain in the software side
  19. I know some of you guys are in the field im working towards in college, which is "IT Engineering" to my college, which is basically "background" IT and server/networking/network design/management. if anyone feel like they'd like to. i could use a couple of you for interviews to make this assignment quick, if you're interested its a basic list of questions i need an answer to. probably not more than 20 minute or half hour of your time. and id really appreciate it in the long run. if you are interested, throw me a PM. and sorry E if you dont want this posted here.
  20. in all honesty, from my experience back-end wise even remote installing 11 is a pain stick with 10. but make sure you go at least 10 pro. so you can skip the whole microsoft account bs
  21. I'm sure many of us have had these days, you get a phonecall from a family member or a friend with one of the silliest questions you can possibly think of to be asked. This morning was that moment for me. i got a phonecall at 8am from my mother. needless to say her system is a sum of my sandy bridge era parts, but it does fine as all she does is office work. i got the dreaded 8am "well i cleaned the filters and around the desk yesterday, and now my computer wont turn on" so i went classic : Turns out the plug had wiggled JUST loose enough in the back of the PSU to not make a connection. AND her HDMI cable had come out the back of the monitor. The second story falls on my brother. its rather short. it sums up like this: Brother : hey bro Me: yeah? Brother : how do i setup email on my iphone? Me : *laughter* go to the apple store END RESULT: he actually went and stood 2 hours in line at the local apple store to have his email setup.
