Forgive me for going slightly off topic, but isnt this GPU like 20 years old? Does it really take 4 years to build successor?

Could be a CPU limitation, v3 processors only supported up to 2133MHz versus v4 processors supporting up to 2400MHz. You might be interested in going the HP route with a HP Z820/Z840 or something similar. You can check out my build log for it over in the other thread. But this is a really cool thing you've got going here. Favorite Opteron was the 6180SE because was the last of the might Phenom II (though memory speed in some configurations only supported up to 1333MHz (and thats usually about my cut off for actually using the machine). I never dip below 1600MHz on the memory front but that doesnt stop me from tinkering with old hardware.

Optimal sound card/audio setup w Z-5500 Logitech sound system
Storm-Chaser replied to Storm-Chaser's topic in Computer Audio
Brothers in arms my friend! lol, and this reminds me of a song -
Nice work so far! Love the case (white is really underrated as cases go)... It's not gaudy or anything like what you see nowadays. Still has a little old-school feel left in it.

You know, sticks and stones.... but names will never hurt me! lol But yeah the next one will be built right. I have about a $1000 budgeted every month for tech stuff (and that's all gone already for this month LOL) so maybe in a month or so I will review my plans with you guys to see if I have all my ducks in a row. as for the brute force attack on the mesh screen, Im going on 50 hours without sleep, so that may have effected my judgement to some extent -

I have some e6000 in front of me at this very moment. Since the size of the puncture is small (about the width of the ink part of a pen....) It should hold up okay, or at least thats the hope. -

Yeah, I can just see it now... the neighbors will be shell shocked and angry by the thundering bass. Or at least that's my goal anyway. -

So I stuck this out as long as I could with the Logitech stuff. You guys were not joking. Even though the sound quality is ok, I know there are also a host of things I am still missing out on. And I will rectify that, but it's at least two months away. What I really want is more is bass. Can never have enough bass. That being said I made a really stupid mistake today. The smaller sub was hitting the front cover, sometimes pretty hard and making a metallic cracking noise so I figured I would remove the metal grating protection to eliminate that problem. There is no access to the sub itself, meaning the plate was attached operantly at the factory. Well I drove some screws in to the grating, point being to pull the grating right off the subwoofer enclosure. Well at some point things went wrong because I forgot to unplug. The other end of the audio wire hit something metal and the volume was up, so I punched a nice hole in my subwoofer. Its in the cone part. Any chance I can use a bike patch on it? LOL EDIT talking about the cone part of it. -

You've just got all the answers don't you now? Thanks, Ill be sure to do that soon. Edit: I did just drop $1000 on new (old) hardware yesterday so the membership will have to wait until next month. -

@ENTERPRISE In regards to the second question, yeah I didn't give you enough information. Sorry about that. I don't want to be critical here, just passing my thoughts on to you. You have a lot of data and information in front of you here which is great, however, text does not really stand out on the page sometimes (let me *try* to explain, lol). Thats what I meant by swimming in weeds, because for me at least, it can be slightly difficult to sort through sometimes, because each post as a lot of text above and below and to the sides of it. Just scan your eyes across the page below with the green text in the middle. In some cases it might be a little difficult to distinguish between whats what. Obviously I am not a blind man, lol so let me continue. So what you see below is the basic outline of the forum which I have sectioned in red and green, and in my eye sometimes this proximity of information on the left (highlighted in black) and on the right, lower can diminish the body of the actual thread because it doesn't stand out. I am wondering if the side boxes can be modified to take a more elemental option to the look of the forum? Or at least shrink them down to put more emphasis on the thread content itself. So for visualization sake this should give you a better idea... I hope I am explaining myself well enough here I've been up for 48 hours no sleep Also I see this is pretty much at the bottom of every post which adds a great deal of scrolling because it does take up quite a big chunk of space. Just thinking of ways to make it streamlined. I am perfectly content with it the way it is, by the way, just some ideas and thoughts I had when compared. @AvacadoUnrelated but I signed up successfully for the HWB team... Looking forward to competing with you guys. -

Interesting. So this might be that. I know I have a pretty good connection but it's what makes the most sense. I will report back. -
Self Explanatory, but often times I will click the link in my notification menu and it shows up in completely random parts of the thread and not directly on the post it is referring to. Also, sometimes I feel like I'm swimming in the weeds, the data around the actual post sometimes seems more than the post itself, it makes searching a thread a bit difficult sometimes. Not complaining, just wanted to point out. You guys have excellent content here.

Ukraine is a game to high level politicians in that nation and to the EU as well. They are all globalists. -

The reason there was no motive given for a justification of war is that the EU needs to keep it under wraps that they wanted Ukraine as well. -

Ok thanks. Btw my 9600k rig had been repaired and is now out of the hospital. Praying for cold weather. Might actually be able to give mr fox a run for his money on his 5723 MHz run! I think the liquid metal is key if I want to be competitive here. The few runs I made last night failed half way through the test. But I just need to ride that knife edge of stability. -

Anyway I can link my pre-existing storm-chaser account, it's forcing me to sign in with google or facebook which I don't want. I dont want to create a new HWBOT account if at all possible. -

I also like to target unique CPUs, chips that are rare or non mainstream, OEM, also combining server chips to be first for a dual processor configuration with that particular CPU. OEM chips are actually better in some cases than their retail counterparts (at least in the E5-2600 family). They generally have a higher turbo and use less wattage doing it. For example, my OEM 2673 v2 comes in at 110W vs it's retail counterpart, the 2667 v2, which comes in at 10 watts higher but has identical turbo specs. Here are some unique combinations I've put together... -
I'm running a low profile GPU so I have a lot more room to work with vs running with my 5700XT. The 360 rad will then fit physically inside the case and all I need to do is take the side cover off so I can exhaust the heat, when doing benchmark runs. I can easily splice into the pre-existing line on the back of the liquid cooler. The 360mm radiator will be grafted in by splicing the tubes (see image above) and via some fancy foot work to daisy chain everything up in series. Net heat dissipation is 300 watts with the stock rads in place. With the turbo hack I will likely need to add the 360. That will be located in the PCIe section of the motherboard, which is a roomy environment as this rig is designed to run at least two GPUs.

-HP Z840 core (supports up to two xeon v3 or v4 processors). -Two Xeon 18 Core E5 2696v3 processors (total will be 36C/72T) -3.8 GHz turbo, perhaps can be turbo hacked -145 W TDP (each) -8 Channel DDR4 memory kit @ 2400MHz Very excited about this build. First of all, it's the culmination of HPs research and development of the premier market workstation in it's day, and I think the case is outstanding, with brushed aluminum sides, HP really knocked out of the park. It's built like a tank, but more on that later. Looking forward to benchmarks and turbo hacking. And possibly adding a 360 radiator if stock cooling system needs a boost. It will be very easy to do this if needed. The build consists of two Xeon E5-2696 V3 CPUs, single core turbo of 3.8 Yes, that's a whopping 20 DDR4 DIMM modules and two 2696 v3 CPUs Can't wait to see how this is going to compete against a 5950X. Because I'm out for blood! So I can run an 8 channel memory configuration (DDR4 @ 2400MHz) Liquid coolers are rated for 150W each. Sick case: Computer Hardware Enthusiast 9600KF @ 5.3GHz (24/7 OC) @ 1.400 v 4266MHz Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 @ 15-15-15-32-280 1.58 v MSI MEG Z390 ACE motherboard 1000mm liquid cooling surface area 3 pumps, 2 reservoirs and a heatkiller IV copper waterblock

I will check this out, probably the best way to go about winning auctions with confidence, however, I do like the adrenaline rush of bidding at the last second. It's a thrill and I'm an adrenalin junky.
