  1. Preparing for the inevitable civil war lol #anarchydeterrent #angryneighbors
  2. Agreed. You have plenty of people that can boot ambient at 5.6-5.7GHz on the recent few generations. So we are close to 6GHz! So there is a good possibility it is just liquid cooled, but most likely its chilled at least.
  3. Honestly I think Intel is doing E-Cores to fluff core count to compete with AMD for marketing purposes (actual multi core performance / benchmark differences aside)... they just want to be seen with a similar amount of cores to be seen as "on par" but then again, I dont have a great deal of information on these new generations of chips.
  4. I've had good luck with a credit card or razor blade on straightening pins. But yeah, I'm the same way and my hands aren't that steady to begin with. Worst fears especially when working with my z840 dual socket motherboard and getting the CPUs that last inch into the socket.
  5. Congratulations with your win in the only loser category of the entire competition LOL! But....
  6. Think you can run Windows Vista with that 939 build? Most people have forgotten about it, but i still think the looks of Vista set it apart from most of Microsoft's average and boring releases. Granted, it was horrific when it first came out but SP2 solved most of that.
  7. It is worth noting that their baseline measurement is a 9900K for reference information.
  8. Haven't purchased yet but it's on the docket once I get paid. This will match the pre-existing subwoofer. That's going to be 400W RMS and 800W peak for the subwoofers alone. Klipsch R-12SW Subwoofer | Klipsch WWW.KLIPSCH.COM The Reference R-12SW subwoofer uncovers what you've been missing in your music, movies and games -- clean chest-thumping bass. Shop this subwoofer and more at Klipsch! The Reference R-12SW subwoofer uncovers what you've been missing in your music, movies and games -- clean chest-thumping bass. The high performance subwoofer provides deep bass and placement flexibility thanks to its front firing driver and all digital amplifier. Features: Powerful 12" copper-spun front-firing woofer All-digital amplifier delivers 400 watts of dynamic power Equally impressive with music and movies Low pass crossover and phase control Line/LFE inputs for compatibility with most receivers Dimensions: 16" H x 14" W x 18.5" D Brushed black polymer veneer cabinet
  9. For the record it's sounding better and better as I learn how to tweak all the settings. The subwoofer will rattle windows two floors above it. lol Interesting little problem has cropped up. This AV receiver works just fine. But occasionally, the display OCD will just go off. The music still plays in the background, the unit is still fully functional, I just can't figure out how to turn the screen back on short of power cycling the unit. Seems there are no settings for this either in the basic mode or advanced settings mode.
  10. You nailed it Mr. Fox. I just didn't want to come out and say it LOL. And I totally agree, there is no bias against AMD with this benchmark. Moreover, they have been very kind to AMD in the past, which further demonstrates there is no real bias here. That being said I've had this benchmark competition shot down in flames MANY times because lots of people think it's way bias or a total joke. And I'm talking about a solid majority here. Or, they don't understand that core count isn't the "BE ALL" of CPU performance, so they wonder why an 8 core intel chip ranks higher than some AMD 12 core chip, and they just assume it's total BS because of that. So I've found the only way to run a successful competition with this benchmark, because the hate for it is so strong, is to bash it and confirm their flawed suppositions about it's bias in the very first post. Basically, I have to destroy the credibility of userbenchmark.com before anyone will actually be willing to jump on board and participate. If I don't do that people try to destroy my credibility and bomb the thread with laughing emojis and stuff like that. And it is a shame, because like you said there is a good bit of value in measuring your system in this way. So, is userbenchmark perfect? Of course not, but what benchmark is? In my opinion it's simply another tool in the toolbox for measuring system performance (in this case against like hardware).
  11. Good runs there, excellent SSD performance. Also note that 100% OC on the 7980XE is pretty impressive. Leaderboard updated....
  12. My dad and I were going cross country and stayed in Truckee, CA for a few weeks (at this campground). That gave me time to order all the parts needed and prepare for it somewhat in advance. But no, I will never do that again if I can help it. What a nightmare. Prior to this, both wheel bearings failed at the exact same time somewhere in texas. Luckily there was a machine shop nearby to press the old bearings out and the new ones on. But it was still a major PITA. One thing to note, if you ever buy a Taurus SHO be prepared to work on it all the time or it will break you. lol
  13. This is my 1990 SHO coming out of retirement Valve adjustment is required every 60K Rod bearings replaced worksheet for adjusting the valves 1996 Seadoo XP (781cc, 110HP)
  14. Former SHOs: Black 90 I got this car dirt cheap because someone forgot to torque the pressure plate bolts to spec. They slowly backed out until one slashed right into the case itself. I used a mesh screen and JB weld to fix this. It's still holding up. They thought it was toast. You'd be surprised how much a fresh set of wires/spark plugs can improve performance. Engine is built like a brick house Rod bearings don't really go "bad" but the cut off for me is about 150.000 miles. Higher than that I will change the rod bearings out for peace of mind. You can see these bearings are showing copper, about typical for the mileage though. I got sick of the stock motor mounts so I modded them lol Aftermarket Y pipe. Removing the 90* obstruction going into the second cat will net you about 10 HP. I have the subframe connectors bolted and welded. Huge difference in handling. The black 90 was due for a complete suspension rebuild, and i did it at a campground in one day. Brutal!
  15. 96 brake upgrade, upgraded from 10.9" to 11.6" rotor with Hawk HPS pads. And TPR bushings. You need the knuckles of you want these brakes on a 89-93 Taurus SHO.
  16. Looking forward to see what you can do with the socket A rig.
  17. Looks like I was able to get #1 with my memory kit as well. Too bad the GPU is killing my average. Oh well.
  18. @pioneerisloud Interesting product and good review. Sounds like for that price you can't go wrong. I know this is unrelated but you should keep your eyes out for one of these as well. Just came across this today. It's only rated at 300W but in reality, it's more like 460w.
  19. My Z840 workstation (I know and the GPU is only temporary) *keep in mind this rig only runs with hyperthreading disabled. So there is more on the table here once I get that issue resolved. LOL I used a USB thumb drive to raise my average.
  20. *PSA* If you really want to improve your score I would recommend unplugging all extra hard drives / anything else that is not required so in case you have something slow it doesn't kill your overall average.
  21. Damn son that is one hell of a build. You are off the charts with CPU and GPU results. Well done! LOL userbenchmark is claiming 9.05GHz turbo... that would be nice but you'd need a cooling system designed for an ice skating rink and that's just not feasible for a single computer.
