How to downgrade and bypass bios flash rollback on a lenovo ideapad using linux ubuntu 21.04? Unless u can think of a way to do it on Windows, I'd appreciate any advice as I cannot enter bios setup, it won't let me no matter how i try to enter. Also if u can help me determine what the bios recovery filename should be, i should be able to perform a crisis bios recovery on the phoenix bios. Windows 11 requirements and older CPU's
HeyItsChris replied to t4ct1c47's topic in Operating Systems
Check this out. I tested it, its missing Internet Explorer which made me have to install the full version of Windows 11, but if u have a low end old pc it's probably going to work best. -
Finally i reset the bios, it took removing the battery then using a jumper or screw driver to bridge the pins together and also i used a small diameter twisty tie to slide under the pins of the bios chip on the motherboard but it didn't do anything because I still can't get into the bios and i knew it reset because the time in windows was way off. So heres what I typed in command : C:\>winflash32 /sd /ipf all /file C:\BIOS.cap the command works as we can see but because by default u can't rollback the bios as its disabled by default in the bios so recovery method is the only way and no one knows exactly how to do it on this laptop, the Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL 80TJ without the AMD Radeon R5 M430 graphics chip.

If you are 100% sure u have the exact same laptop as me and use the exact same BIOS. Just in case I recommend going to lenovos site entering your specific serial number and downloading your bios file initiate the bios flash and without closing the sct flash tool navigate to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Temp\ExtactTemp and copy it to a safe location which should contain all the pertinent files including the BIOS.cap, it should be. Then download the wincrisis file i hope it works for u as it didn't really work for me even after setting compatibility windows xp sp3 mode. It worked but didn't work for idk. However after preparing ur usb flash drive and wincrisis and renaming BIOS.cap to BIOS.wph and throw it on the flash drive and shut down the pc and make sure battery works and is charged and has power connected to the wall adapter power then hold FN + R and hit the power button. If all goes well it should flash it up bro but mine just flashed orange led on the charging led and nothing happened for me. Use Crisis Recover Disk with Pen Drive.rar

BIOS recovery doesn't work with my 16gb flash drive, it might work with a 1-4gb flash drive though. So I pull the battery for about 6 hours and I don't think the BIOS reset because it didn't mention it got reset and the time remained the same. Odd. So now I think I need to blind restore factory defaults in the bios because if i press f2 after the logo, it goes possibly into the bios but its a black screen. @ivebeenmemed so can u get into the bios or no? i need to know which button is reset to defaults and which is save settings. Thanks

No commands actually work because my BIOS flashback rollback option is disabled and I cannot enter the BIOS so I need to perform a BIOS recovery via USB. However its turning out to be highly difficult. I tried different methods and it still doesn't work. If anyone can find out how to perform a USB BIOS Recovery then I'm very interested.

So I was poking around & I found this thread which is pointing me the right direction, not to mention I opened this file which gives me some juicy information as well. Locked myself out of Windows (By accident, oops!) COMMUNITY.ACER.COM So I wanted to set up a dual-boot between Windows 8.1 (With update 1) and Ubuntu for Android development on my Acer Aspire V5-571P-6429, rather than using a Vitual Machine and having to share resources. Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL BIOS WWW.MEDIAFIRE.COM I am closer to getting it. I ran this command and it almost worked but errored out instead. Just copy the BIOS.cap & WinFlash32.exe to C:\ and try some commands out... lol I'll let u know what works. C:/WinFlash32.exe /bcp /sd /ver /cvar /v /endkey /silent /bbl /cac /cbp 30 /file C:/BIOS.cap

Thanks so I am working on it now and it says Rollback flash is disabled in the BIOS so I am hoping I can bypass it. I'm reading this content here but the commands aren't working. May you advise how and which command to use to skip the bios version? Overclocking the Radeon R4 graphics beyond 800Mhz would be sick and possibly the CPU as well. At full tilt because of TDP limitations, the APU limits the CPU portion to 1.4Ghz under load while the GPU maintains 800Mhz. If I could at least adjust the TDP, I'd be in business. It's the AMD A6-7310 APU boosts up to 2.4Ghz on all 4 cores only if TDP is turned up, by stock the 15W TDP limit limits the performance tremendously. I modified the fan profile on the laptop so its load temperature is 40°C. So I have a ton of overhead. Well I updated the firmware via Windows Update & it reports an error in device manager and won't apply the system update which is reported in the BIOS.

I think I accidentally locked myself out because the Novo button doesn't work, well it does and I press ENTER on BIOS Setup & it reboots and doesn't do anything same with Fn F2 or F2 alone. How do I reset the CMOS? Thanks I think the easiest way is through the Pheonix SCT Flash tool & reset the CMOS. I need to learn the commands from command prompt. Any ideas?

Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL cannot enter the BIOS setup, it always reboots. Advice? I guess my ultimate question is does anyone have experience with Lenovo laptops, getting into the BIOS? Also how to reset CMOS battery, because I didn't see it on the back side of the motherboard where the APU and ram sits. Do we think it's possible to boot 1x 16GB Module in a AMD A6-7310?
HeyItsChris replied to HeyItsChris's topic in Motherboards
Thanks so do think a Lenovo ThinkPad 11e AMD A4-6210 QUAD CORE 1.8Ghz with 16gb ram & 256gb ssd on AMD Radeon R3 gfx codename Beema can handle lowest details Forza Motorsport 7? It supports full dx12 features 12_0 & if I can overclock I will from 600Mhz to 800Mhz+ & if thermals become an issue I'll repaste and force the fan to full speed. Ps I'm starting with 8gb 1866 1.35v module cl13 & see if I absolutely need the 16gb modules. -
Android advice - how to increase active background apps? I'm on a Mediatek mt6753t octa core 1.5ghz device with 2gb ram & 16gb nand. Its a Agptek T06S & i rooted it as all mediatek devices have unlocked bootloaders. Anyway max background apps is 3 & I need to turn this device into the same memory habit Samsung devices have allowing lots of apps to run concurrently so I can heavily multi-task. Thank you How can we adjust this setting? Set to 50. mOverrideMaxCachedProcesses=3
