Ran it stock, but at least got it in before the end of the competition.

Anyway, system is now filled back up with X1 Clear and as soon as the air bubbles clear, I'll reconnect all electricals and power up WinBloze and the 2080ti. breathing heavy for hwbot... https://imgur.com/a/JmDeTlZ
  3. I get around 1.5GPM with all at max and 0.6GPM with all at 25%. I'm looking for more flow since I should have more then enough head no matter the setup I use so I'm trying to see if I can get 2GPM or more at lower RPM's. My loop runs Pump/Res to Pumps/res then to a pair of dual top D5's. I got 5 pairs of QDC4's and most if not all pump inlet/outlets are gimped with 90's. I'm looking for more flow, I should have more then enough head

Yup, still wrapped in the rubbers they came in. Just started second rinse after the Blitzkrieg. I'll do at least one more after this.
  5. Since I need to do a full tear down to get rid of the XTR crap, it's time for my nearly anual redo of my loop. Right now I'm running 6 D5 Next's in series. My question is am I better off this way or running 4 of them in parallel and 2 in series?

Finally started moving ahead; running Blitz Part II through what needs it at the moment, including 30 feet of new Tygon. Once I'm done with that, I'll run distilled a few times though that loop, then rebuild the bench and test the 2080ti on air to make sure it'll work. If that goes well, I'll add the block to the 2080ti, get it up and running, then start to the runs for the competition.
  8. A big thanks to @Cerberus; I've joined the club: He's got my SeaHawk 1080 installed in his basement; and I'll also be sending him those two Cooler Master PSUs I did a review on a while back.
  9. some more lab type stuff and antique analog tech

cleaned the 5950x using only the best products recommended by the surgeon general of california (causes deformities in unborn children; not something i've got to really worry about anymore), mounted the techN block (that was a pain in the arse), installed the 2080ti in air mode. while i was recovering from the dizziness i experienced after removing my 3m mask, I'd forgotten just how heavy that 3090 KPE was (it hasn't lost any weight). next up, i'll run blitz part 2 through the loop for half a day, then flush it with distilled, and reassemble it with the updated bench setup.

    2022 Team Cup!

So I was interested in knowing which version of GeekBench (Geekbench 5 for Win vs. Geekbench 5 Pro) I should buy to fulfill the Primate Labs link requirement and searched Google for hwbot geekbench which version should I buy, and came up with a few interesting results and some additional questions. One of the top returns was a link to a thread in the Hwbot forum about the subject at hand, which was tossed around during the 2019-2020 time frame: Geekbench 5 It's a short two-page thread, so I read through and if I understood what was discussed in it correctly, there were issues using Geekbench 5 with HWBOT competitions; hence, I've got the following few questions I'm hoping you guys can answer: uh, naturally, which version should I buy? if the non Pro version suffices, I'd prefer that. because of apparent issues with Geekbench 5 when used with Win 10 (see that thread) there's talk of a different validation utility called Benchmate in that forum thread that appears to be about a replacement for Geekbench. I'm guessing though that they're still working on getting HWBOT to recognize it as an alternative to Primal Labs' Geekbench, so I need to ask should I use an earlier version of Geekbench? Please note I'm using WIN 10 Pro 64 bit on my bench. Anyway, looking forward to what you guys know about what I asked/proffered above, and TIA!

Ran ddu this past evening, will be draining the bench tomorrow. We'll see how it goes from there, but I'm pretty sure something will at least be up and running by the end of next weekend.
  15. Change is inevitable, even as far as Blue Jeans go. These days, it seems more and more like they're dropping around many a person's ankles. Rhetorically speaking, of course
  16. Thanks, bud. while you're making it hard for me to maintain my modesty ( ) , I might throw together a gallery of my walls once things slow down a bit at my end.
  17. Picked up six gallons of distilled to get things ready to run the 2080ti (no pic required; price went from $1.00/gallon to $1.59/gallon). Also, for my ever growing collection/ménagerie (see my profile cover photo for a sample pic): As a sucker for interesting gauges, a vintage volts/minutes gauge for frizzy hair treatments (Gene Wilder's not included): As a 20 year USAF retired vet, a vintage B-52 Chaff Dispenser (ca. 1960, just in time for Dr. Strangelove); should be able to wire up the panel and dispensing lighting in this: Lastly, a vintage thermometer (early mid century), as an old fashioned hardware 'enthusiast' who needs to be able to gauge ambient somewhat accurately Enjoy!
  18. I'm reserving judgement until the 4090ti is released. Who knows, by then, it might become @The Pook's 4090ti.

@Bastiaan_NLdon't mind that green fruit; he suffers from ocd (unlike you and me, myself, and HAL 9000). also, been less than busy lately coz a buddy of mine lost his dad (who was a little younger than me), who was also his Rock of Gibraltar; hence, there's been a lot of introspection this past week at my end. i do still plan on completing the 2080ti run before time's up though. just need to get out and pick up six gallons of distilled.
  20. I admit I'm not that smart so I may not understand this but this seems like the stupidest * thing you a CEO can do. I can understand hating Nivida and wanting nothing to do with them, the part I can't wrap my brain around is the refusal to work with AMD or Intel on GPU's. They somehow expect to survive selling rebranded PSU's, crappy mice & keyboards and MB's with the Dark among the best but release 6+ months after everyone else so most have already jumped on another brand. I have no hope the company will last 3+ years. I expect them to be dead before that. Only have 8+ years left on my KPE warranty, that'll be worthless soon. After the debacle I went through for this gen I'm not upgrading anytime soon. EVGA was my first choice for a GPU, now I'll just follow Kingpin and upgrade maybe with the 6xxx series.
  21. Don't recall exactly when they started dropping the pricing on 30x0 series cards, but some might find the following excerpt interesting, from an article that was published during the latter part of last month (August 24/25): Source: MarketWatch - Nvidia sales forecast falls about $1 billion short of expectations, stock falls Kinda got me thinking (speculating) that--knowing EVGA was typically later to market on new releases than other AIBs--they might have been counting somewhat on the income they might have gotten had they been able to move most of their inventory at those higher prices.
