Hey that's not too bad of a price if you can find one in stock. I also don't trust ebay or knockoff parts. I generally want either the original part replacement or a rebuilt original part.
-
I can send you the proper alt from US and even with shipping costs and VAT it will end up cheaper than that. That's an insane cost for what is the same alt used on multiple models. If you really wanted to be budget oriented you can buy a rebuild kit for the alternator relatively cheaply. I'd wager no more than £40 or so including shipping. Also I offered to buy it too. lol.

E has been the best possible kind of guy you could ask for as a site creator; he really encouraged us to be creative and was a huge proponent of the hobby. I hope his best days are ahead of him yet as he moves on in life and in his hobby. I think we all are a bit better off for having been here and active on this site and in this point in time. The community was truly something you do not find every day. I know, for one, I will never forget this time in my life moving forward. And I hope the next site owners are as gracious and good natured as the first. -
The s2k build is looking very clean. I applaud your taste and I think it's a very nice oem+ type build. Unrelated but the front driver side brake is dragging on the lexus still. Jacked up the car and spun the wheel and the isolated the sound to the caliper itself just to rule out a bad CV joint or a defective new wheel bearing. Despite replacing everything in that wheel, from the bearing to the hub & whole knuckle, new rotor/pads & caliper, it still drags. Only thing I didn't replace was the rubber brake line. Figures that would be an issue. The hard line is seized onto the rubber line via the flare nut fittign so it's gonna need to get cut off and I'm gonna make that someone else's headache lol. Pulled the Avalon back out of the garage the other day and aired up the tires. Need to get some adhesive remover and get rid of this bumper sticker residue from the PO. Car started right up and pulled out of the garage no problem so that's neat. Also dug my new toolbox out of storage. It ended up getting buried in the garage right after I got it and never even got to put my tools in it. Was free for helping a friend move too

Pairs well with the tri-SLI

Honestly this is good to hear and I look forward to seeing what next gen parts from Intel will do. The enthusiast PC space is beginning to get very interesting again and I am fully onboard with it. My buddy's got an A750 that he modded for more power and better cooling and it appears to be a stellar performer for the $220 it cost him. Could be one of the better value cards out there at the moment. And seems to have only gotten better as driver support from Intel has matured. Very interesting and looking forward to seeing how things progress.

Is it possible to AMD Dual-Graphics for A8-7410 R5 GFX with R5 M430?
speed_demon replied to HeyItsChris's topic in AMD
You might need to run modded drivers like the Nimez radeon drivers for it to work. I had a K53TA-BBR6 asus laptop back in the day with crossfireX running on the APU and the dedicated card. Was a neat bit of technology when it worked; sadly many games did not support dual graphics mode even back when it was popular. -

I only have Sim City and Buster Bust's loose on the SNES at the moment. When I was a kid I mostly played Super Mario Brothers. On the DSi I have loaded the .rom's for Pokemon Black & Diamond, as well as mario kart DS. -

I've got an SNES and a little nintendo DSi. Not much for games yet but the DSi has been modded to accept .rom's loaded via the SD card slot. -
that's a good song

Throwing in a recommendation for Lorex or Reolink brand cameras. Been nothing but happy with mine and they are very easy to use and configure with third party software or control. I'm currently running a wireless Reolink 1440p camera above my garage and the quality has been superb for the price, especially so with the night visibility which is what matters most in my neighborhood.

Well if the purported specs from the prior leaks turns out to be true this should be a powerhouse of a card. I remember not too long ago we would have sold a kidney to achieve such insane levels of performance, and now days you can just walk into a microcenter and buy a high end card off the shelf. Pretty long ways we've come since I got into the hobby. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the lineup for 5000 series looks like; the only thing I know for certain is it will be pricey.

Forgive my double post but I'm excited I don't get new tools too often these days. Got a new floor jack for $99 on sale at HF. And with the old ones

Some days it just feels like it's not your day. On the lexus I came outside this morning to find a flat tire. Hopefully you can pinpoint the issue without too much headache. Sounds a bit like it might be an alternator on the way out.

Don't know if I've mentioned this before but one of my projects was a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid that I modded out pretty good. Returned me ~55mpg lifetime average with many trips closer to 70mpg. Found out it got better fuel economy the harder I drove it, and so I used to tear around town like I stole the thing. Was a blast to drive too. In the Honda hybrids they use a pancake electric motor bolted to the flywheel so if the car is moving the gas engine is running, the electric motor is just used as a torque adder. Bought the car for $3200, modded it out & drove the crap out of it for a couple years, then sold it later for $3500. Only had to fuel up once every couple weeks and I was running food deliveries daily for my job at the time. Years later I ended up having a ~2018 or so Toyota Prius as a company car and absolutely hated it. Drove nothing at all like my little lightweight tossable civic. I get why anybody that has driven a prius hates hybrids, it's just that not all of them are terrible like that. Just most of them. Heh. Edit: I pulled the HV pack and refurbished it myself. Replaced the one bad stick with a junk yard pullout stick. Made up a DIY grid charger so my car was technically a plug-in hybrid.

Woo time to party!! Get that lexus back on the road as soon as you can. Bet you could do car shows with it if you wanted, it's pretty clean.
-
The one thing this lexus doesn't have is a check engine light.
-
GM products are so modular I'd wager there is a lesser cost alternative solution he could swap to. Even the Z06 vette rotors aren't that pricey.

Didn't see one of these on here yet so I'll get it started. Post your junk drawer! Mine has been migrated as the drawer kept getting stuck shut so I changed it to a now very sad looking box. I've got a random LG G7 smart phone in there, 2x 4gb sticks of DDR4, about a dozen sata cables of different length, case fan cable extenders, replacement case feet, and more stuff beyond that than even I know what to do with.

I dunno I don't see any ads on my phone watching youtube and that doesn't have ublock origin? Or on my nexus player streaming box. Dunno.
-
Running FF with ublock origin. I use Pihole on a home NAS box for youtube ad blocking before it reaches my browser. Haven't seen an ad in years with this combo.
