  1. Yeah with most motherboards this will support 32gbX4 for up to 128gb DDR4. Plex/NAS budget king for sure.
  2. Oh, did apple release a new room deoderizer? Like a competitor to the glade pods. Lol only kidding.
  3. Just wait until you read about some of the linux installs on rackmount servers. We have an HP Dl380 G6 at work that hasn't been rebooted or lost power for close to a decade now, no joke. Though that's an exception as it's one of those goofy one off things where it shouldn't still be working but is. And the big boss man keeps putting off buying new hardware for us to replace it..
  4. Sounds like a good way to do things to me. I run a somewhat similar Ryzen 3900X system and am planning to add another 2x8gb memory sticks later this week myself.
  5. Oh wow the ideal specs are pretty surprising. Never seen 32gb in a recommended spec sheet for any piece of software or game before. I know the dev team for this has been working hard to get near GTA levels of detail and depth to their environments. Going to make for one heck of a game when it gets released.
  6. Oh heck yeah. These would make for awesome low cost NAS or Plex server options. AMD just keeps bringing more perf. options to the table every step they make.
  7. It's also likely to have the famed Quad-DAC. LG made a couple serious mis-steps with marketing their devices and were all but ready to pull out of the western market last I checked. So I wouldn't place any wagers on this device saving them, good as it may be.
  8. Very nice - Looks like a 4U rackmount case? Lots of possibilities with the large size & way it's set up. Is this for a home lab or something else?
  9. Forum doesn't like multiple images per post unless there's text first? Alright think I got the hang of this. All of this to go along with my half dead R9 390. Sort of imbalanced there.
  10. Maybe you would be interested to create a thread and enlighten us a little about the fire stick? I'd be curious to read more about being a media streaming superuser.
  11. I have gigabit in the house for my NAS and Plex server, but only 32/4 from spectrum. It's this odd situation where I'm using super capable equipment in an area where we lack the nicer fiber connection options. I can only imagine what sort of neat stuff terabit ethernet would allow for though.
  12. Post up your internet speed! https://www.speedtest.net or alternatively, fast.com is a quick and easy way to get your download speed.
  13. What I'm seeing is that things are becoming more like calculus and the old days were more like algebra. Everything is inter-related. Actually makes things more interesting for enthusiasts as there might be more opportunity for performance improvement that hasn't been capitalized on by companies yet.
  14. Neat. Wonder how long until this hits consumer available add in cards. Also, have to laugh at the part where they say "Will end users ever see such speeds coming to their devices? Well, most laptops on sale no longer come with an Ethernet connection" I know I personally wouldn't buy a laptop without an ethernet port. Wonder if they assume most laptop sales come from Apple?
  15. https://www.techspot.com/review/2006...900-hs-laptop/ Looks like AMD has flipped things around from before. Now in both CPU limited gaming and in 720P gaming the Ryzen CPU's perform better than the comparable Intel CPU's. Also important to keep in mind this is the lower performance "HS" version, not the big daddy "H" version and performance takes a hit due to the lower TDP and lessened cooling in the ultrabook form factor.
  16. This is definitely something I've been wondering for a while now. Very interesting.
  17. Very nice. Will order that board for myself soon.
  18. What brand was yours? Or is it just a generic deal.
  19. How is that board? I'm looking for a cheap compact bluetooth mechanical board myself.
  20. Now I see why the ES300 guys say to just do the LS400 caliper & rotor swap and never have to worry about brake issues again. They bolt right up to my Avalon too. Looks like the Lexus is moving along nicely
  21. Thank you so much! I don't really know what to say as I've never won anything before. Hey don I think I recognize that nice doggy
  22. Thank you. Not great and not bad. For the $35 it's probably worth a try for most people to see if they like them. Also seems to get boomier when connected to my LG G7 with its quad-DAC setup, so the source can have an impact on the end result with them. Purchased a set of the Sennheiser HD-6XX's and then later sold them to cover some family medical bills. Now those I adored. ?
  23. Checking in with a pair of Sennheiser CX300-II earbuds & one heavily repaired Razer Kraken headset.
