  1. Wuhuuu.. for a 4090ti i would offer both of my eyes… Dont worry, they claim you can even feel the increased FPS (with the “6th sense” on)
  2. Dont you have the feeling that it will go as well one day to the subscription business model? You buy a GPU and you are an lucky owner BUT "Oh you want as well that your fans on it spin? Well that costs extra - just for 50 Cent/month each fan and the first 2 months are for free" At least is this approach tested in Automotive in china
  3. To all im having a bit a problem to find any test, reviews or comparisons of the Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 vs the Silent Wings 4 and Silent Wings 4 PRO in the 140mm version. There are some information's about the 120mm versions but not the 140mm. Im using the Silent wings 3 140mm as intake fans on the front and was wondering if there would be any gain with the new ones or just burned money? As well i got kinda surprised that you will not find the Silent Wings 3 on their official page - feels like "we get rid of the history" lol..... I know you can find the data separate and glue it together but would be nice to see them in a direct comparison in the same environment (case, conditions ect..) let me know if you found anything and please share. Thank you very much! MM
  4. its the best way to play - not knowing what your doing and having it as a part of discovery creates many "heureka" moments which is pleasant
  5. Congrats! To be honest im a bit jealous as im fighting my inner Daemon and trying to convince him and my self that i dont need an upgrade now .. Having the XFX 6900 XT and as well happy with the card. But from the reviews i saw so far its basically the hotest (highest temps - but the design is hot) from all the AIB models which kinda surprised me... IDK what your plan is with it, if you gonna WC it or keep it on air - but if you write the customer support they give you the information of the thickens of every thermal pad there. Did it last year and this year finally ordered the pads.. have to replace the pads (or better i want to see if i can get more out of the cooler. And as it has a copper plate i can just recommend to repaste it with LM. It dropped my HotSpot temps by 10-12 degrees on stock XFX cooler on air.... you can push it more or get it even quieter and chilled If you do anything just share some pics and results - would be interested Also wanted to ask for a longer time now, there are so few AIB models out there with the 7900XTX - are there planned to be any other models to come?
  6. Thanks for the recomendation but to be honest, been on this road before and its just a trade of for higher temps and rpm on fans. I took out what i could to make it airflow friendly as possible. I radher invested the money in the DataVac and once in a month i just blow the dust out… in the end everyone has to decide for them self
  7. This kicks in kind off … +1 for that!
  8. So having some updates in the work in progress.. New toys finally arrived but first the paint job Drying it with Folding@Home Final Product.... Yes the corners are made of silicone so the paint chipped off (was a bit naïve here) and could as well cover with scotch tape the back labeling but forgot it... Anyway im ok with the result... Finally the installation.. Now to the analytics: With 45 min. Folding@Home both CPU and GPU. Before : CPU package MAX: 76 C GPU Hotspot MAX: 65 C DIMMS MAX: 37.3 C M2 SSD: 50 C Now with the installed new HW: CPU package MAX: 74 C GPU Hotspot MAX: 64 C DIMMS MAX: 36.3 C M2 SSD: 40 C The main gain is here the M2SSD - with -10 C on the max temp.. Got a difference as well on the CPU by -2 C and DIMMS -1 C.... But could be the tolerance in measurements so not rly a prove of a big improvement.. Will test it a bit further in some Gaming sessions and report back... As well waiting for the new design of the "straightener's" ... Let me know if you have any advice to improve or idea to try out Thanks.. MM..
  9. I would say yes the glitch art effect is still a thing same as “cyberpunk” is still a thing … at least my opinion and the secong picture is exactly “cyberpunk” style….
  10. well could be but the design is not mine and i just downloaded it and used it to get it printed. But the original thought of this was as an cover for the back exhaust fan to use it as intake and get some cool air to the VRM of an water-cooled setup.. here the Link to it there are as well some pictures. And to be honest with an printing time of 8h I'm not sure if it would pay out in the end well that would be truly Extreme i guess but i hope your not disappointed in the end Exactly what i thought could be improved, i just thought about an different solution. As there should be enough space for an 90mm fan i ordered the Thermalright TL-B9 should be delivered soon and lets see if makes any difference, but what I'm expecting from it, is an better ventilated backplate of the GPU and this way would less heat be going up to the CPU and RAM cooler... If it will make any real difference i will measure as soon i get it delivered . Anyway next week Monday should be send to me the second model in 2 variants so im looking forward to test them ... And as well have to test the "Case split" recommended by @The Pook
  11. Well what we mostly see in RL is "Marketing" knowledge vs "Real" knowledge of any problematic.... People tend to read the marketing materials and claiming it as real facts, just because its faster and easier.. And as well marketing doing a good job so... Anyway as told it speaks for its self...
  12. ASML's Ex-Employee in China Allegedly Stole Confidential Information WWW.TECHPOWERUP.COM The Netherlands-based ASML has reportedly launched a comprehensive investigation into the company's branch in China following reports that one of its former employees allegedly stole...
  13. this is Great and thanks for the fast implementation!! exactly as suggested (even my explanation was poor ). Great job!!
  14. PSA: Corrosion Happening on ASUS ROG Z690 Formula VRM Block, Company Remains Silent WWW.TECHPOWERUP.COM I've been using the ASUS ROG Z690 Formula motherboard in all my recent CPU water block reviews, and also detailed it here for a specific EK VRM bridge block article. While the board has reached end-of-life... Speaks for it self ...
  15. Small update… the other design went in to production! curious about the outcome… will definitely report back ….
  16. ttps://www.guru3d.com/news-story/3dfx-voodoo-5-6000-rev-3700a-128mb-prototype-bids-reach-13200.html And we are complaining about the prices of new GPUS?
  17. Motherboard Shipments Drop by Ten Million Units in 2022 WWW.TECHPOWERUP.COM The PC industry has been hit hard by the current market conditions and economic downturns, as the entire industry has seen sales of new PCs drop to new lows. Equally so, the PC motherboard makers have... Having each year a new product by Design/socket/performance/ect.. An "created" need and an not sustainable growth each year ends up in a fall sooner or later... Do you think that the prices will go down in general? Or will we see a slow down in the update cycles?
  18. yes this is the basically the style im trying to find but the prices are incredible.. Mainly if it is from the audiophile corner Will try to find a handy man with the machine to make it from solid Aluminum or copper billets - making them a bit customized.... Lets see. If im successful ill report back the outcome
  19. Thank you very much.. kinda feel like a walking disaster
  20. Please dont cow bell me folks but question: where do i set up or change my status from “member” to “premium member” ? Or its not working anymore? Just curious (and yes im an subscriber and active )
  21. have to say you got a sharp eye.... edited But with the cardboard your right.. will try it out and report back.. I have as well another type to try.. just need to tell my friend to print at least 1 more as i have just 1 as a sample... forgot as well to post a pic of how it looks in the case luminated Yes Sir! Will do Sir!
  22. Hello there... As i like to try some ridiculous things and im always thinking about optimizing the AF in my case so one day i came up with an idea of changing the flow of my bottom and top intake fans in a way it will be more in harmony to the front to back direction. And so before i just asked my friend to print me something i decided to make an POC just for the bottom fans. OFC my aim was to gem more air to the GPU, and i have to say it worked not bad... I saw rly a 4 degree decline at the GPU hotspot... So i decided to get some proper "straighteners" and got them printed.... Well Printed version is a bit a different shape but not looking bad at all: Finally mounted in the case it looks in my opinion not bad at all. A bit "SteamPunkLike" Well now lets talk about some numbers and test scenarios... System Specification: MOBO: MSI Z490 Godlike CPU: i9-10900K @ 4.9Ghz GPU: XFX Radeon 6900 XT - Merc 319 a bit underwolt and a bit OC DIMMS: G Skill GTRS 3200 CL14 @ 4100 CL 15-15-15-30 T2 Case: Caselabs SM8 CPU Cooler: Thermalright FC140 Front Fans: 3x 140mm Be Quiet Silent wings 3 All other case fans are Thermalright TL-C12 Pro For stress testing i chose to fold for 20 min on my CPU with 10 threads and as well with the GPU. At least the energy will not go totally waste And here are some scenarios and results: Scenario NR.1 - was the traditional front to back airflow, so i just turned off the intakes upper and bottom and tested: CPU package MAX: 71 C GPU Hotspot MAX: 68 C DIMMS MAX: 36.3 C Scenario NR.2 - was with the intakes upper and bottom as well on: CPU package MAX: 70 C GPU Hotspot MAX: 65 C DIMMS MAX: 35.5 C Scenario NR.3 - was the paper POC CPU package MAX: 72 C GPU Hotspot MAX: 66 C DIMMS MAX: 35.8 C Scenario NR.4 - is the final way i wanted to test - with the "straighteners" installed on the top and bottom intake fans.. CPU package MAX: 73 C GPU Hotspot MAX: 66 C DIMMS MAX: 33.8 C I will for sure take some more time to try to play around with the fan speeds if I will see any improvement or not. If you have any advice or idea how to get better temps or optimizing the Airflow in this case I'm open to anything. One thing is for me atm not workable and to make it custom WC and as well AIO are not my thing.. Air-cooled is the way i want to go for now.... So please to all Air-cooled Gods and Daemons out there - feel free to take part...
  23. oK, got it. and yes sounds good to me. And your as well right about the definition at it self... Its a moving navbar not static one...
