  1. Obviously the lost points overnight were worth it if you can have a Z170 card.
  2. I have ideas, and my ideas are free. 1) If you need more capital to get this going, perhaps we could hold some monthly fundraiser event. Raffles, contests, ect. People like prizes, even if they are cheap, or no cost prizes (like forum perks). 2) I have been thinking about this one for weeks, maybe months. RGB. There is a lack of a good technical help forum on this subject anywhere on the web right now. I personally hate dealing with RGB, but more clients want all the bling in builds. It's a royal pain in my ass to find matching connector types, compatible software, controllers, ect, and since there is little documentation available, I have a very high failure rate. If you could find an expert on that subject matter, open a sub-forum, and have said expert write some guides and continually update them, you could corner the market and possibly draw in many subscriptions. That's it. Those are my only two ideas for 2021.
  3. My folding rig may be down for 16 hours or so while I change some configurations on the bench tonight and tomorrow.
  4. Hmmn I've modded old G92 8800GTs into Quadros via BIOS flashing. This will be awesome if you can do the Teslas back and forth.
  5. I'd certainly mess around with it. Is it because it's just not intended to work in Windows? Check this out too. I'm watching this listing. Do you think this a good deal or a snake in the grass?
  6. I see some K40s for cheap on ebay. How difficult is it to get one of these folding in Windows 10? These are basically OG Titan right?
  7. This looks like it will be a very fun project, but the beverage in picture 5 has me most interested.
  8. I guess I will tell the story of my forum handle. My friends and I used to play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons as teenagers back in the 90s. We had this one friends Eric, always a rules lawyer, and always trying his hardest to break the game world with some new crazy overpowered character. Like one time he bought the Psionicist Handbook and asked me like 15 minutes before game time if he could play one, of course he already had the character sheet ready to go. I would let him, and like 30 minutes into the game I would regret as everything non-psi would be super vulnerable to a psionic player. Eventually someone would say "DAMN ERIC!" and all the other players would join forces to kill him off. Then if he wasn't at the next game session, I'd troll the other players by creating an NPC called Damric (short for DAMN ERIC) that would be basically a copycat of one of Eric's last overpowered characters and hunt the party with him. Lots of PvP in my games and the most annoying players would end up in someone's portable hole or they would eat the corpse so they could not get raised.
  9. You folders might be interested in some Threadrippers I saw while browsing newegg yesterday. There were some first gen 1900x for like $175, if you need the PCI lanes. The caveat, of course is that they are direct from China. I'm tempted to build a cheap TR4 rig around one.
  10. This month ended up being a wash for me anyway with so much hardware trouble. It will be interesting to see my score next month if I can keep it going 24/7. That card has a 40% core overclock
  11. Hey bro, you have my HD 7850 on the wrong multiplier. It should actually be x71.07975979023936 You are using the multi for the HD 7870 which has way more PPD https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/brands/amd/folding_profile/pitcairn_radeon_hd_7800 7850 is the PITCAIRN PRO, a cut down version with much lower PPD https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/brands/amd/folding_profile/pitcairn_pro_radeon_hd_7800_series
  12. I saw that the system didn't pick up any of my points from folding on my R7 350. All good because I resurrected my HD 7850 from the grave and got some points. So far so good 3 W/U complete today.
  13. My kids get grounded of electronics and they act like they are going to die.
  14. Alright I did that. Let's hope it picks up the next WU which is estimated to finish in about 10 hours.
  15. It looks like I was finally able to complete a WU with the R7 350 overnight, after 2 days of freezing screens with my 7850 and this same card. It's still chugging along at stock clocks and now 40% complete on the next WU. Is it possible that my cards/drivers just did not get along with that particular WU that kept freezing?
  16. Well it ran overnight, and hasn't crashed yet. I'm going to let it keep going at stock clocks for now. This is what the PPD says after running all night at stock:
  17. Nooooooooooooooooo. It froze again so maybe my HD 7850 isn't bad. I'll mess with it some tomorrow. I didn't have much time today since I was out on the water most of the day. I'll probably do a fresh OS install since nothing important on the drive. F@H Rig Specs Ryzen 1600AF stock freq 2x8GB Micron E at 2133 JEDEC Gigabyte B450 DS3HV2 Silicon Power A60 256GB NVMe EVGA 650W G2 (LEADEXII)
  18. Ok got this little bastard up and running. Going to let it fold for about an hour to get somewhat accurate PPD for stock clocks, screenshot it with GPU-Z, then I'm going to clock its socks off...or whatever 20% or so but still less than 75W ? Yes that's an old OCZ DDR3 heatsink I chopped up since my little aluminum ones would not fit under the nozzels ?
  19. I'm hurrying trying to build a heat sink for it and I'll have it back up soon I hope
