  1. Alright then I'll set my CPU to finish and let the HD 7850 keep on running.
  2. Well whatever I need to fold on, let me know so I can terminate the other client lol. Right now both the CPU and GPU on that little tester rig are folding away overclocked juiced to the gills. 45 minutes left on my current GPU WU and 5 hours left on the CPU but I might be asleep by then. It's a Ryzen 1600 but an AF model that overclocks to 4.2GHz with low voltage, and a Radeon HD 7850 @1200MHz. This rig can dedicated fold 24/7. My others cannot due to works, schools, games, ect.
  3. I always wonder what exactly those companies put in the "coolant solutions" to make the different colors and not screw up the physical and chemical properties. I have a theory that it is glycol (propylene glycol is in food coloring). I suspect that to make white/pastels they are using titanium dioxide. I have read that in some industrial experiments that it can help improve heat transfer. I doubt it. For like $5 I ordered some pure white powder and it arrived today. I drained 150ml of water from my tester/folder rig, mixed up 150ml of distilled water with 15ml of the powder and added it to the rig. What could go wrong?
  4. I'm not impressed by any of the 500 series boards really. The good ones are way overpriced. Keep that 300 series board until you absolutely must upgrade it for something you actually need. I have three B450 rigs and two X470 rigs and they do what I need. One of the X470s now runs a 5800x with 64GB of RAM without any issues. The other runs a 3600 with 32GB RAM. I don't need faster NVMe drives, I need MORE NVMe drive slots and more USB ports, and that's about the only reason I could see swapping any of my boards out.
  5. My rigs are ready, and my dedicated folding rig has already been folding for a couple days while I tune settings. Just put me on whatever team and tell me what to click on to make sure the points are going to the right place.
  6. You can work around the RAM limitation of 32Bit OS by creating a RAM Disk with the overflow RAM then assigning the drive to Ready Boost.
  7. Just needs a stronger graphics card. I'll put one of my Vegas on there if I can snag a 6800XT near MSRP.
  8. Aright finally got my folder rig back up. Testing it out now.
  9. P.m. me a link to the feed that you watch
  10. Oh wow was that random chance or have you been stalking the site? I haven't been looking too hard but I'd live to get a reference 6800XT
  11. I need about 10-14 more days before my rigs are back up to snuff. I had to order some new parts, and a lot of things are getting reconfigured right now. But when it's all done, I will have 1 machine dedicated to folding 24/7 with other machines that can part-time.

There is great rivalry among the services but we veterans are quick to dog pile if someone digs on another vet ?

I did a few tours based out of that area, pretty much hated that place. The traffic was the worst I ever dealt with anywhere including L.A. I remember we had to be on the ship in formation by 0715, and it was more convenient to drive to the base between 10pm and 2am and rest for a few hours in your rack than to try and fight the gridlock that started at 4am. Like seriously it would take 3 hours to drive 15 miles? Then you try and find a legal parking spot but it's another 3 mile walk to the pier. I still have nightmares about that place.

Now it makes sense why the VA is so backed up!
  16. My go-to drive is the Silicon Power A80 1TB for $115. It's fast enough and very cheap. I've purchased 8 of them over the last 2 years for various builds. Also the A60 1TB is a good deal when it goes for $85. That one isn't quite as fast so I put those on the PCH.
  17. Far Cry 2 has a nice built-in benchmark and the game engine is very friendly to quad-core CPUs. You will be able to compare your overclock scaling with the graphs that it generates. It's DX 10 if I recall, so good for that HD 4890. 3D Mark Vantage was also a very good benchmark for that era. Trying to remember the name of the Unigine benchmark that was before Heaven...
  18. Just curious how many fans you connect via the PST. I'm doing 3 per header, but I wonder how many would be safe since these have pretty low power draw.
  19. This is great, except doesn't TSMC make these? This could really hurt AMD if Apple buys up all of the production.
  20. Did you get those ocz reapers from the market? I saw some Phenom x4 9950s on Ebay. Phenom II also works in that socket.
  21. I like the green E. I see people bitching about flaking on the EK blocks, but mine never flakes while I'm staring at it so I cannot verify if it is a true claim ?
