  1. You also need to go to the old Control Panel, Power Options, Change Advanced Power settings, and disable Hiberboot. Then you can also use some powershell or cmd command to disable/delete the hidden Hiberboot.sys file in the root of your Windows partition that might be taking up Gigabytes of space, freeing it up for use. Do take note that I have done a couple of other tutorials showing how to strip down Windows to make it faster, you can see those here: Also, thank you CoolGTX, I am glad you found my dual boot tutorial useful, that is the old school proper way to set up a Dual Boot Windows/Linux system.
  2. I am bigred I agree, this site and community are great and the foldathons were something I looked forward to every month. I brought it up at TPU but it doesn't seem like they are interested in doing it. This site will be sorely missed but thankfully will continue on on Discord, I highly suggest you join if you use it.
  3. V8 client installed. Love that I can see the log for both systems, and especially with my main system in Linux without having to type sudo xed /etc/fahclient/log.txt Will hopefully be able to change teams for the foldathon and then change it back to TPU afterwards.
  4. Will try getting the v8 client on both rigs and change teams back remotely after the foldathon, as suggested. Just been so busy benching lately, and I gotta travel to California for a week on Sunday and meet bridgypoos extended family.
  5. Unfortunately, I have to sit this last one out because of travel, and having joined the Techpowerup folding team. I can change my team number back to EHW, I just won't be here for a week to change it back.
  6. Thanks man, making a note of this because of the site probably going down.
  7. Well 1. My normal preferred genre is RPG, both JRPG, WRPG and ARPG. However I have gotten sick of them, so I'm looking for a change of pace. 2. The first PC I had was gifted to me for my birthday by my Uncle Pete (r.i.p.), it was a Pentium 75MHz and I played Doom, Doom 2 and Duke 3D on it but always with god mode on. I am familiar with and have played Blood and a few other retro shooters. 3. I am looking to get better, I don't really do squad based shooters like COD or Battlefield. However, as I mentioned, I like BF4 single player campaign (on easy ofc -_-) I have another one that's kinda old but was popular when it first came out and now has a PC version, and it's called Vanquish. Ultra, mostly I am looking to get entertained in a different way.
  8. Yeah I have the Metro games. Thanks for the warning about the original Stalker. I have Borderlands 1 and 2 for my 360 and two controllers and you can do split screen, but it would probably be better on PC over LAN play. How is BL3? Which is the best one to start with? I did play BL2 up to the point that you got a vehicle of some kind, then got bored and quit. I *love* top down Diablo style games and played through Torchlight 2 and Grim Dawn over LAN with @bridgypoo, doing BL with her might be great but last month we spent a weekend playing UT3 deathmatch and writing down the maps we like before I try to teach her Onslaught mode. I told a white lie, I am actually at least competent at Unreal Tournament and Q3A and love them both. I also have Fallout 4 for PC and Fallout 3 for 360. Anyway, thanks for the advice/recommendations...offer up anything else if you guys think of anything. Thanks.
  9. Hey, can you please help me out? I'm only seeing 50% usage in 3dmark11, only for Graphics test 1, I am getting 330-340fps because of it, where in this submission I made before I reinstalled Windows my fps in GT1 was 570. https://hwbot.org/submission/5690583 This problem is the difference between a 66k score and a 72k+ score. Things I have tried: Safe mode, DDU, reinstall drivers once out of safe mode. Reinstalling 3dmark11. The odd thing here us that in a few cursory tests, my score was basically the same in Fire strike Extreme and a few others, seeing normal scores. It is seemingly only GT1 of 3dmark11. This is driving me nuts because I want to raise my eclk overclock and GPU overclock as well as use some tweaks to try to chase a 75k score, but I can't. Any suggestions and help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  10. @UltraMega Should I get the original Stalker game? Everyone I have heard of talking about it says it's amazing and they replay it. I'm terrible at FPS games, but I've been playing a little bit of Wolfenstein New Order. I'm still really only at the beginning, but I intend to play that and Old Blood and Wolfenstein II New Collosus. I have Doom as well. May pick up Doom Eternal also but not big on needing a Bethesda account. I'm playing Wolf New Order with god mode enabled because of my suckage I can also remember starting single player campaigns more than once in Battlefield 4, and I thought it was pretty great but stopped playing around the Chinese city tower raid part. Not sure why. I tried Battlefield 3 and at the beginning couldn't figure out the key combo to prone when there was a sniper and I was on a roof. Kept getting shot in the head and gave up Anyway I want to play more FPS and at least get decent at them, then see if I can learn to do dual analog movement and aiming which I'm even more terrible at so I can play some PS4 games I missed out on on my PS5, like Uncharted 4. Game recommendations welcome.
  11. Your amount of contribution doesn't matter, some can do a lot and some can't, I'm just lucky to have the hardware I do. The point is you contributed to the cause, how much doesn't matter
  12. Monthly cleaning of Ai Crystal and took a lot of photos. Thought I would share.
  13. I just hope that bid wasn't from VerticalScope, Inc. Let's hope if someone takes it over they keep everything the same or mostly the same, rep and postbits mainly.
  14. We may or may not have this site in it's current state in the future, and maybe not the foldathons either, so I suggest participating in one now even if your PPD is low.
  15. neurotix

    neurotix's graphics design 2

Hit the limit of 50 images in the old one. Had to start another.
  16. This 100% (though I know a lot about running forums) I do agree with cutting out all of the paid stuff, switching to Invision Free, and possibly hosting the site on a home server. As long as we could keep the rep, rig builder and postbits. But those (probably rig builder) may require the use of Invision Paid and paid plugins. Also I still think the total size of the site on disk, as well as the fact it's constantly growing, are a issue for hosting at home.
  17. Big problem probably isn't traffic and bandwidth but I imagine it's also the premium members using tons of disk space for images. I'm guilty of it with my graphics design albums as well as posting like 15-20 pics per keyboard for a couple of keyboards I built and posted images of in the mechanical keyboard thread. I wonder what the servers total footprint is when it comes to hosted content like images, and the necessary disk space is constantly growing. So that might be part of it too that you're not factoring in.
  18. Some tutorials I did. Hope this helps.
