  1. Hey @J7SC_Orionwhat motherboard do you have? Is it this? Amazon.com WWW.AMAZON.COM I am highly considering getting a different board to see if 1. I can clock my RAM higher and 2. If I can get 5650MHz boost using PBO for benching. I am sick of thus pos Rog Strix X670E-E gaming wifi board. Updated it to AGESA 1.1.0.1 today and it still didn't fix my 2nd CCD boosting problem for benching. It topped out at 5.2GHz running 3dmark11. Unfortunately the new bios included a LED controller update that made it so when I rebooted to Linux, it would not keep the colors I had set in Windows and was doing animated rainbow puke after it POSTED. Back to the older bios now and that fixed it. I guess I'll stick with it and deal, I will probably talk to the wife about a new board after the holidays.
  2. Huh. A few years ago for Christmas my mom got me a handheld air compressor that was wireless, because I use canned air too, and it was terrible and had no force behind it. For really dusty PCs, I use a Shop Vac that has a detachable hose and either a suck or blow mode (lol) and I use the blower and the thing moves a ton of air. I used to use canned air in my rigs, and the electronics wipes that come in a can, but those leave clothy residue behind everywhere. So, I have switched to just using 70% isopropyl alcohol pads on the inside of the rig- all over the inside of the case, on the dust filters and even on the top of GPUs since backplates became standard. Never had a problem with it thus far. Been doing it that way for years. Unplugging the rig and moving it into my work room and blowing it out with the shop vac works too but with how bad my pain has gotten I have trouble doing that. This looks like it might be a good solution, and I'd no longer need the alcohol pads. I'll see if my mom will get it for me for Xmas. I like that it comes with various brushes too.
  3. Has @Fluxmavenshipped these out yet? I am yet to get mine. Thanks
  4. Square and I'm the one who suggested it, but from the looks of it they will stay round. I'll live
  5. I have a video of ELIZA on my Macintosh SE. An early AI Rogerian psychologist. It was developed in the 60s. Go read about it or something. So yes, they've been working on this ish for a very long time now.
  6. Okay, nevermind on: File size limit Animated gifs However, I agree about putting it to a community vote on round vs square avatars, and can also understand why you wouldn't want to mix the two (which might not even be possible and would require custom coding if the setting is in a style sheet.) Personally I like square better as it shows more. If there's any chance of having the dimensions increased, that'd be cool too. Thanks E and everyone else.
  7. What is the max filesize for an avatar, and is there any way to get the site to resize them without having to manually do it? And yes, for pretty much every avatar I've used, I've had to shrink it manually using Simple Image Resizer (a website). My vote would obviously be for square avatars, just because they would show more. Also, jan I like what you just posted (identicons)- they look like Atari VCS aka 2600 sprites XD
  8. Yeah, I can use an animated one. Should probably be added to the list of features. I would propose allowing animated gif avatars for everyone, not just the people who can afford $250 to the site. That's enough to buy a decent used last gen GPU.
  9. Is it? Let me check. That's in the thread. Says nothing about it. I could test and try uploading an animated gif, but with the filesize limit and size being so small, I doubt it will work.
  10. Lovely. Title should read: "Scientists give us another scary and extremely dangerous invention with the potential for abuse, just like they gave us the bomb."
  11. Hi guys. I'm suggesting, if it is possible with this forum package, that we allow a choice between a round or a square avatar. Further, I am suggesting a higher file size limit, possibly the current one for regular members and larger for premium members, as well as allowing larger dimension avatars. Finally, I am wondering if we could possibly have animated gif avatars too. Thanks for the consideration. ~neuro
  12. Got any pics? How do you like the Box Jades? My first custom build was a GMMK with Box Jades. Now I have one with Box Whites, Box Navy, Box Pink and Box Pale Blue.
  13. Thanks Flux. You're right about the time of year too, and getting something within a year (which is why I don't do group buys or drop). Yeah, I used a Model M as a kid in typing class when I was a kid. We had a Macintosh at home. I can vividly remember the sound and feel because it was SO better than the Macintosh keyboard at home. You are also very right about the Unicomp and they would be better than even the cleanest Ebay board that would set you back $200 from what I saw. New springs. I've asked for a lot this year PC wise from my girl, so I'm thinking of waiting like til my birthday next year to ask (July).
  14. I agree 100% on the Unicomps. If you want, you can even get them in other colors like black. But for me, the OG model that's just gray is what I'd want because it's almost like woodgrain and brushed aluminum on a stereo, or woodgrain in a very old car. It's classy and classic.
  15. Alright, so the custom build for my wife for Christmas is finished. I could post a bunch of pics of the build process, but I don't want to clog the thread up more than I already have so I'm just posting the finished pic. This one will definitely be shared between the two of us. It's going to be wrapped up to be opened on Christmas, so I'll do a typing/sound test video at the end of the month. YUNZII/Keynovo IF98, Kailh Box Pale Blue switches, POPKEEY *Cinnamoroll keycaps, ThreeBulls red o-rings. Please add it to my list in the spreadsheet, @Supercrumpet * Cinnamoroll is a Sanrio (Hello Kitty) character. He is a puppy with a Cinnamon roll shaped tail. He has very long ears that let him fly. Being with a Sanrio fan for 17 years, you become one too, lol. Cinnamoroll is my favorite Sanrio character next to Keroppi the frog.
