Just sub it. Having more subs matters more than good subs. If someone posts something better it will just replace the weaker scores. Fun fact, the clockspeed limit was 5005 initially and my sub was thrown out for being 5007. Was able to resubmit it after they raised the limit.  😂

My strategy was to just run through and just knock out a bunch of subs early to get points on the board. If I have time later, I'll circle back and get better scores.

    Will do.

  2. So I tried y-cruncher and realized my 50 sec time was with the chip boosting to 5125MHz, and there's a 5008MHz limitation. I could probably do PBO +50 and stay under the limitation (remember I have an X3D so no ratio control), but I'm pretty sure my time would be above 1 minute. If I submit that, it will raise the average time because currently Flux has a 55 sec sub and Bastiaan has 1 min 3 sec sub.

So I'm not doing it as I am pretty sure my sub would be detrimental to the team.

  3. I was planning to do the 5900x as well, but remember @damric that you can't just disable your 5950x to 4 cores and run it, you need an actual 4 core Ryzen 3300g or 5300g or whatever.

Thanks for the help though guys and I'll be sure to do my sub right so Captains don't need to remove it. (hopefully)

Edit: also checked and saw I have until September 15th.

  4. Alright so AM5 y-cruncher 2.5b is something I can actually do and contribute. I do not have the inclination to buy a Ryzen 3300g and put it in my wife's machine for the AM4 stage, then put her 5900x back in. However, I can do y-cruncher but I have a question:

The benchmark to me looks like it is currently being rated and scored based on the highest time at the link I posted, not the lowest? Currently people with the longest timed scores are getting the most points. In that case, because my chip effing sucks, I can post a score of about 50 sec. Though looking at the current subs we have for this category/stage, Flux's score is 55 secs so maybe I'm wrong.

I would like to contribute at least something to the team cup since I've seen how hard all you guys have been working on it and even seen Avacado on camera trying to figure out how to abuse a socket 939 Opteron, lol. However, is it needed since we have two subs already, and would my score be good enough? Like should I even bother?

Don't you have a 3060Ti still you could be running too?  You probably could've held the lead and beaten Flux had you had all your gear running I bet.

Good showing everyone!  My poor 6900XT is worthless on these foldathons, plus the heat, yeah its just too much during the summer.

Yes, my wife has a MSI 3060 Ventus and it was running the entire time.

UT2003/2004/UT3 are pretty much all perfect games IMO. 2003 was perfect; and then 2004, being a bit of a rehash just added such an insane amount of content to make up for it. UT3 is in a different league though because it still looks good today, unlike the others. If they re-released it on current gen consoles in 4K with a few minor updates similar to the Quake II Remaster, I bet it would do pretty well. The fact that it got removed from steam kinda suggest they might do something like that soon. I would be super stoked if something like that happened.

Agreed on all points. And yes, despite being a 2009 game, UT3 still looks great now. Especially the Deathmatch maps.

Just got a neat new (to me) motherboard in from @UltraMega actually. 😄  Old 775 board that takes P4's and Pentium D's, and a couple Conroe C2D chips (very few).  AGP board though!!!

I do need to actually repair the board, there's one blown cap on there that needs attention before I want to power it up.  These AGP 775 boards, ESPECIALLY ones that support Core 2 at all, are actually kinda hard to find.  Should be a good board for hwbot stuffs later once I get it recapped. 🙂

    Nice one man.

    It's EliteGroup then?

I have that UT4 box in my closet with all of the 100+ CDs it came with. Freaking miss Unreal Tournament. Wish they would make a new one, but UT3 was perfect.

I pretty much don't play fps games, I suck, but I freaking LOVE UT and especially Onslaught mode. UT3 was great even without community maps, the new alien vehicles were really fun, but UT2004 was like... Just perfect.

  9. Update: I am scheduled for hip surgery on September 8th. I will have to wear a brace and be on crutches for two weeks, as well as do physical therapy twice a week for 12 weeks.

After 6 weeks I will have an office visit with my Doctor, and if the surgery on the left helps then I will be sent for a CAT scan on the right hip and get scheduled for surgery on it with the same conditions I stated above, after surgery.

I believe the procedure I'm having is called a hip arthroscopy.

There was a really bad f up and issue with the imaging, Northwestern health sent the CAT scan data to Stryker in the wrong format. This caused a significant delay of about 6 weeks instead of 2 for my Doctor to have the 3D model of my hip.

Either way, I have quite a large mountain to climb, but I'll do it if I can sit and not have pain in the hips. I may not make a full recovery til March, and I may be doing physical therapy through then.
