  1. Anyone know how best to clean a mousepad that probably can't go in the dishwasher? Should I use Dawn on a damp towel?
  2. In bigred Also this came today from the last one. Thanks @Fluxmaven
  3. Yep, definitely getting a white/red one. You did a great job on the one with the traces and logo with icons, @UltraMega
  4. So I'm wondering what the size/Oz. Is on the red and white mug with the logo, icons and circuit pattern? I use a much bigger than normal coffee cup in the morning and it looked larger than a standard mug. The black mug with Flux' design is cool but too small for me. @UltraMega
  5. Nope, don't really follow stuff like that. Probably bad.
  6. Okay, an update. Intel said they don't give out free stuff anymore HOWEVER directed me to Sale | Intel Retail Store THEINTELSTORE.COM Intel Store, including apparel, hats, accessories, and gifts. Looks like they offer a lot of branded merchandise and I had no clue this even existed. Did anyone else? Additionally, I emailed: AMD Nvidia G.skill Corsair Asus MSI Thermaltake Sapphire Cooler Master And I think that's it.
  7. Guys, particularly bastiaan who I think is team captain, on our team page here: https://hwbot.org/team/extremehw/ If possible, edit the "About Us" section and insert extremehw.net at the end. That way anyone poking around our page will possibly come to the site. @Bastiaan_NL
  8. I was a member of OCN since 2011. I no longer use the site, but have fond memories of discussions, overclocking, benchmarking, and folding in the team competition. I bolded what you said, as this rings true personally for me in the present day with EHW. I made an account here in 2020 but a few months ago I decided to get on and actively participate. It is about the only social interaction I have besides that with my wife and retired mother, and doctors and nurses at appointments. Everyone has been extremely good to me here and given me lots of rep much faster than I expected. As you well know, I live with severe pain issues- Chronic Pain Syndrome, Degenerative disc disease, Chronic Neck Pain, Hip impingements requiring a hip replacement, and fibromyalgia. However, getting on this community and its Discord and especially finding out others in the hobby deal with similar issues has been extremely good for me. The social interaction and engagement I get while discussing the hobby has helped my depression, and made the pain more bearable. So thank you for creating this forum. I have been way less depressed since starting to participate. (And thanks for not filling it with Reddit, Google, Facebook, and Twitter trackers/scripts. Jeez go to OCN sometime with NoScript in your browser. It's a mess.)
  9. Hey all, I am wondering what the best way is to clean a thick cloth mouse pad with rubber on the bottom and RGB lighting around the sides. It is https://www.amazon.com/UtechSmart-Extended-Brightness-Mousepads-31-5×11-8/dp/B07PQDLF51/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=utechsmart+mousepad&qid=1675115239&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE1SzZOS0JJN09aMDEmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA2MTk5NjUxMzFHSTRCWFJETjJUJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAxNzc1MzVWMjBITEhYQ05CT1kmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl Sorry for the long ass link. I dont know how to shorten them Anyway, I know with soft pads you can run them through the dishwasher but we have a brand new dishwasher that has a drying cycle that uses high heat. I also assume the little box attached to it in the top left with the button to change the colors that the cable connects to has a simple PCB inside. Is there any other way to clean smudged areas on the mousepad? I had one just like this for years and the rgb became dim over time, I tried Dust Off wipes and alcohol wipes on the cloth to clean it and they left fibrous residue on the pad that never came off. Any ideas?
  10. I've gotten shirts from redbubble and I had one in particular I wore for years and after 6 months or so the printing started to peel off/melt in the dryer. I got a ton of anime shirts and gaming shirts from them, and they'd be good for about 3 months but then the printing would start to flake off after enough washes. So I think washing it a lot and especially drying it might cause some wear. If it ruins it badly then you know you don't want to go with that site (printify I believe) if the art is going to come off.
  11. Enterprise when you get the shirt you should wash and dry it like 10 times in a row to see how it holds up. Might be worth drying it once on high heat to see if it shrinks. You should pull it apart with both hands and make sure it doesn't rip. Etc @ENTERPRISE
  12. So no more 18601s all day or what? I'm getting other units all the time in the last two days, completed 45 WUs yesterday (my record) but only made 30m points...
  13. Ok, cool. That's not a GPU PCB, it is our chip we will eventually release in 2123. You'll see when you get it. (Don't believe the specs; that is actually a DIP packaged Motorola 68000 I turned gray to look like a heatspreader.)
  14. Awesome. One of each shirt? Did it include the white one with the logo and gradient icons or no?
  15. Hey, this is a really cool idea but unfortunately it takes money to make money. Both the systems turned out great: nice and clean, nice RGB, Wraith cooler looks great (but unfortunately you can't really OC on it). I would do this myself, and have money I could use to do it with, excepting that any money I make has to be reported to Social Security and they deduct it from my payment. So if I don't do something that makes me over $900 a month (substantially more) there is no incentive to work. It's really stupid. I could always do it on my wife's eBay account... Anyway, I like this idea a lot.
  16. Yeah both UltraMega and I decided privately those exact things: no MIT logo (though I could just use the inside of the circle) but he came up with a better, cleaner layout on his own that is smaller and would print on less of the shirt. He also suggested an anime design, which I could provide art for as I used to draw anime characters. I have not done this in a long time though and it won't look professional and will be colored in color pencil and scanned, which might make it clash with any digital graphics and text. Tbh I have an idea or two for anime girls doing different things but I am not very confident in my skills drawing stuff like that anymore as it's been years, I switched to water color amd watercolor pen drawings of flowers and landscapes years ago. I am going to suggest he look into finding stock anime art that is professional and digitally colored if he wants an anime shirt, if I have assets like that i can use I can put another design together. @UltraMega
  17. Alright @keeph8n , your theory was correct. It's the bios. At the same overclock and power limit settings with the master MSI bios, I get this: Card is running and jumping between 61c and 60c, sometimes dropping down to 47c and then coming back up, and these clocks and power limit on the Galaxy bios were running at 67c. So now that I tested both, I know there is nothing wrong with my card or it's fans or thermal paste or pads. It's just that bios. Thank you. You have been repped.
  18. As promised, for any coders, here is a Knights shirt with LISP in the background. I highly recommend reading about the research they did using LISP for AI that was government funded and took place all throughout the 80s, and required very awesome and very specialized hardware to run what they were doing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_of_the_Lambda_Calculus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisp_machine Again, this one has to go on a black shirt. Also, the image for MIT is public domain and from wikipedia, there shouldn't be any issue with MIT or anything (hopefully). As this is a hacker injoke anyway. I'm doing these because I had the idea for them, and I was bored, and I really enjoy doing graphic art in GIMP- if anyone has any t-shirt ideas they would like to see made, please pm me with ideas and I'll try and put something together.
  19. Anyone want a high speed jet engine Delta fan and/or a Yate Loon huge 230mm fan to blow on a test bench? A regular box fan is probably better but hey.
  20. I will probably take my side panel off, reboot to bios, flip the dual bios switch and then try folding at my old OC and see how much it heats up. If it's what I expect (58~62C) then I'll know it's the bios. If not, and it's hitting 68c, then maybe its the work unit. I'm just trying to make sure I don't have a defective fan or one of the fans is running slower than it was before. I suppose it could also be the TIM on the GPU or the thermal pads, as Avacado mentioned. It's been a long time since I repasted a card and they've only become more difficult to disassemble, I'm sure I could watch a Youtube guide but I don't want to do that and then make the situation worse, if possible.
  21. It's yours, man, since you claimed it. Last time I looked at it it needed to be dusted/cleaned. Despite having been dusted when it was put in the box years ago. I'll take the shop vac on blow mode to it + alcohol pads before I send it out to you, probably Wednesday. Unless we can find a poster mailer sooner. It's a pretty nice board actually and has a palmrest, metal volume slider, and media keys. But once I got my OCN Ducky with clicky switches I ended up loving those, and then built my GMMK with Kailh Box Jades, and my Doraemon themed keyboard with Kailh Box whites (which I actually like best.) Clicky all the way for me now.
