Using statements like "He's going down" implies you fully intend on being the one to do so.  Otherwise you should put who the person is other than yourself to make it clearer who will be doing the thrashing.

I misunderstood that line too, I thought @BWG had some tricks up his sleeve. But it's a nice surprise to see a new face doing this good, if only I would have known...

Impressive! There is no way I could beat that...
Do you have more info about your 30xx cards? Like model, clocks/power, waterblocks etc?

Sorry, it's been a busy day.  I was going to post a follow-up to that image with more details.  All of the 2080TI and higher cards are actually cloud GPUs that I'm renting...some with free credit...some I'm paying for.  All are running in Linux and most are running in a docker container.

If you are curious about clock speeds vs ppd on the cards or anything, I can try to look up the specs (nvidia-smi) while I'm still renting the systems.

I do hope to get a 3080 for myself to fold on if I can ever find one for non-scalper prices ;)

I think a good follow-up to the above is this pic... I'm tapping out for a few hours at least.  Hertz will still fold though.

@firedfly

That explains a lot!

The PPD difference can be from Linux, I'm pretty sure the 13448 unit benefits from the OS as it only runs at 85% on Windows..

I like information, so if it's not too much work for you I'd appreciate it!

You might have to wait a little longer to grab a 3080 from the miners, I might have to do the same :classic_biggrin:

@BWG 31°C is the probe on your keyboard? That's reason enough to slow down for a bit..

It is a bit better in my room, but warm enough for me to fall asleep in my chair right after dinner at 7pm... :classic_sleep:

Yeah, and I even have a fan on high blowing at it.

Freight called, a/c tomorrow. I still need the vacuum pump to finish though. I bought one for this and to aide me in fixing a line leak in my Audi.

Attached are details from the cloud gpu systems I'm using right now (I stopped one from the earlier screenshot as the ppd dropped quite a bit for some reason).  The results are of running `nvidia-smi -q`.  I added some rough specs on the system and the ppd I'm seeing to the top of the file.  Some of the systems I only get access to some of the cores and ram, not the full capability.

Thanks! Looks like they could use a little more fan speed, they are running pretty hot..

But besides that, the clocks are not high at all. That shows the benefit from Linux over Windows!

I deleted damrics slot, re-added it, added the advanced flag, and eventually it did pull a unit. I also confirmed he's a cheater because his 2 other rigs were folding on his ETF passkey lol.

Look at what Martin Turner said here:

Kinda funny, we use the . for every thousand and the , for decimals

And nice work everyone, almost 190 million points in 2 days! A lot of teams are looking over their shoulders now :classic_biggrin:

I ended up adding a few more cloud GPUs as I found some with better price/ppd ratio.  Peaked at 87 million ppd for a few hours!  I'm sure you'll reclaim the crown next month, though.

This was fun.  The team got a lot of work done over those 2 days!!  Good job everyone!
