I'm going to be pretty busy today. I have everyone setup except for firedfly has a temp gpu he's using for his team. We want to avoid cross-team folding, but I appreciate your willingness.

 

Also, The ETF Manual was updated yesterday. Take some time to read that. It's in the folding section under the etf sub-forum. Subscribe so you're notified when updates take place.

Navigate around it and let us know if you have any questions. It's UI is beta, and it's better than just html code, but zodac never really messed with UI before. I think it's pretty neat. Works really well. He did a great job.

 

I will check periodically to make sure wus are logging with foldaholics. I had to swap axipher and tictoc, and then avacado.

Quite possible. She wants to put that 3200G under water and on an aluminum frame bench just like my folder. She is at stock 1200MHz right now on the Vega 8. Probably mess around with clocks tomorrow.

 

Actually I just noticed a glaring problem. She's got 1.5 days to complete the WU but it says ETA of 3 days. I'm going to help tune her up and hopefully that vega 8 will be viable.

I don't long term that my ETF card will be viable. It's been folding balls to the wall for months now on a massive overclock. It's already given up the ghost twice and been raised from the dead, and it's going on a decade old. It wouldn't surprise me if it shits the bed for good tomorrow lol.

I cried. I prayed. I sacrificed. Then I put it back in and somehow it worked. Then I took it out, replaced TIM, put those Z170 heat sinks on it, lots of small aluminum heat sinks, and put it back under water.

 

Really I have no idea why it was crashing. I assumed aging capacitors or a degraded die, but it could have been other problems on my folding bench. Everything on that rig is cheap and sketchy except the PSU now.

Does it have a heatsink on the VRM? Man, when I took mine off, the thermal pad crumbled like powder!

 Nothing wrong with cheap and sketchy. I have run many a rig that was that way.  Currently I have a case with no front on it no side panel ssd laying on the bottom with 2 240 fans blowing on 2 2070's folding away.

Stock it did not. I cut an old Z170 heat sink to fit and glued it on

I put my ETF rig in my sig for you guys.

 

I left out the graphics card price, but I bought it new for about $150 almost a decade ago lol.

You got a heat gun to shoot it at stuff and measure temps? That would have been neat to see what it was without and with. What thermal glue did you use?

I have a zombie 7970 that pretty much refuses to die.  It has been resurrected from the dead three times.  The first time it kind of just came back to life all on it's own.  The second time I baked it.  The third time it didn't actually die, but it will no longer output anything to the monitor.  It will happily run compute work, and it is a great overclocker that can run heavy fp64 work loads at 1315core|1550mem.

IR thermometer no, but I should get one.

 

I used this glue that came with some heat sinks. Way more convenient than that Arctic mess that I used to have to mix the two tubes.

It should be reflected in the ETF stats site within three hours of the WU being completed.  I would verify that you have the correct passkey specified for the new card slot.  The passkey configured for you on the stats site starts with 79f83656************************.

 

@BWG may have more insights when he has a chance to respond.
