Did the requirements for Win 11 change overnight?

Logged onto the test bench this morning and was greeted with an update stating my computer was ready for upgrade to win11. I'm still rocking the 9900k/z390 on the test bench.

No nothing changed. I assume you have TPM (or is it TMP? I forget) enabled?

Perhaps windows's ability to detect your hardware settings improved? Or it could just be that not all the drivers needed were WHQL certified for win11 yet.

My understanding is that 9 series chips were not part of the hardware needed to upgrade. But I see it on the supported list. Very odd.

I had not changed any settings and this was the first time it hinted to upgrade.

The only real requirement is TPM being enabled. Any hardware too old for win11 wouldn't have TPM anyway.

I don't think the requirements changed any, my sig rig still doesn't' qualify.

Are you talking about your Ryzen 3600 machine? It for sure qualifies, you just have to enable TPM. On AMD it's called something slightly different, I think mine was xTPM or something.

If windows is telling you your PC doesn't qualify for win11 and you have TPM enabled, then windows compatibility test is wrong and a clean install of win11 will work completely fine.

It's probably the TPN thing yeah.  It wasn't a requirement for 10, so nope its not on.  🙃

As long as I've known about the hw requirements, intel 8th gen and newer has been supported.   Ryzen 2xxx (except 2200g/2400g) and newer is the amd cutoff I believe.

Huh. Well I never even looked. Both of my 9900k systems always told me that my hardware was not supported. Its rather weird though as the office rig has never notified me and the test bench only recently did.

That is strange,  must be either an older Bios or TPM not enabled.   I went on a spree not too long ago to confirm all of mine were compatible, only one rig fought back with tpm and it was a z370 board,  I ended up having to reload win 10 but it's compliant now too according to the tool.
