What is causing this spiky GPU usage?

Just curious to know what is causing this type of high and low GPU usage. Temperatures on core and VRM are both great and CPU usage is usually below 25%.

Specs:
Ryzen 5 2600 on an Asus B450F Gaming board - 32GB DDR4-3200 - R9 390 8Gb video card - 1000w Seasonic Platinum PSU - Windows 10

Thanks for the throwback on CoreTemp, haven't used that since LGA 775.

I have no idea. Clocks are:

1000 stock

1040 gaming

1060 OC mode

Correct?

You hit 1100, is that an OC? Does the card exhibit the same behavior at stock speeds?

It is an overclock. Card behaves the same way at 100% stock settings.

Is this just your PC at idle?

PC was in game. Had to enable "Unified GPU Usage" in msi ab settings which fixed it completely.

Thanks all for the help.

I was thinking I have not heard of this option...so goes searching for it. Did not find it until I looked out in the greyed out AMD section as I have an Nvidia card.
