Corsair Launches PS5-Ready MP600 Pro LPX SSD: Up to 7.1 GBps

Corsair has quietly started selling a version of its MP600 Pro-series SSDs optimized for Sony's PlayStation 5 game console. The MP600 Pro LPX shares a platform with the MP600 Pro/MP600 Pro XT but comes with a low-profile aluminum heat spreader and offers performance similar to its PC-oriented brethren.

Corsair's first SSDs for a game console will be available in 1TB and 2TB configurations, which are sweet spots for gamers today. The manufacturer rates sequential read performance of its MP600 Pro LPX SSDs at up to 7,100 MB/s, whereas its sequential write performance is rated at up to 5,800 MB/s. That performance aligns with what Corsair's MP600 Pro XT SSDs provide. In addition, the console-oriented MP600 Pro LPX features a solid endurance rating of up to 0.38 drive writes per day (DWPD) over five years.

Luckily, someone I know recently did a review on the LPX. The maximum sequential write speeds have improved over the XT (1TB Version). I know that the 2 TB versions offer the same speeds. The LPX is specifically targeted at PS5 users.

Corsair has come bursting onto the scene with the MP600 Pro LPX, a performance NVMe aimed at the Playstation 5. Join us in testing it in our PC environment.

Thanks for all the feedback !,  currently have a 2 tb lpx in a pc as primary as the write/read speeds were better then the 1tb counterpart , that said I thought initially asked in the build for a xt . I know there's going to not much or nothing in it if anything from a lpx to xt (2tb and 4tb anyway) so ordered a xt 4tb as a secondary storage to match .... again with the same higher speeds. also again thinking this was a matching pair for the primary

I was just worried that I paid for one and got a less expensive and lesser performance drive in its place.

So again by what people have said there practically the same other then heat sink ?

Thing is I have a chance of sending back the 4tb xt if this isn't up to par with the lpx or vice versa and also have a bit of ocd with builds lol.

If some of you nice people could just clarify on which is considered better between the two at a 2tb and 4tb level again would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance !

They should both be NVM 1.4 protocol with the same speeds. 7100/6800 max. Good drives! You also have DEEP pockets 🙂
