Flow/Temp Sensors?

Are you sure you don't have one of the defective ones from the first batch? The clicking was due to a part being crushed when first put together, otherwise it should be near silent under 1GPM. Mine is dead silent even with my ear pressed against it at 0.56GPM. At 1GPM I do hear it faintly.

The older model was actually quieter at lower flow rates but had to be vertical. Still it's by far the best one to buy.

If you have an Aquero, Quadro/Octo then I'd recommend the older model if you can find one third party if you can't find the new one in stock.

It works as intended. It is possible though I guess. 🤷‍♂️

Update: Was tired of waiting. I ended up just getting an in stock Barrowch from PPCs. This one:

With this OLED Display In-Line Temperature Sensor w/ Alarm from Barrowch you can have digital readout of your tempatures as well as alarm feature that can shutdown the PC. With its sleek deign this...

Will see how it goes. I think these were the ones you had a couple of @Avacado?

Similar, mine also has RPM's. These look like a newer revision and hopefully are more accurate. Remember these are NOT as good as an Aqua Computer flow meter and should not be taken as a precise measurement. They are more of a "Rough" look at flow. The temp sensor is pretty accurate though. It looks like POM that makes contact with the coolant, but I would double check to make sure it's not an aluminum interior. Some of the early models that Barrow made were and that could lead to corrosion.

I have 2 of these:

Yep, I went in knowing it will not be as accurate, but I'd rather have something than nothing for now and then upgrade down the road when I can actually get my hands on an Aquacomputer model.

I will definitely take a look at the internals. Good call out.

There is a barrowch flow/temp/rpm sensor that is decent. I have 2.

So I had assumed you had these based on this post, but sounds like you meant the Bykski, or have both?

Bykski. They are basically the same brand. I think they are different brands owned by the same company to give the appearance of competition in the mid level WC market.

Ah, that makes sense.

I completely forgot about FormulaMod. I'll keep them in mind next time I am looking for stuff. EDIT: Ok I looked, guess I thought they were a different shop. Seems they just have all the Bykski, Barrow, Barrowch stuff.

I'll let you know what it looks like when I get it.

My MPS400 flow sensor from Aquacomputer unfortunately stopped working recently. Decided I will wait for the Highflow NEXT to come into stock to replace it, but they are unobtanium right now.

Took me ages to get the Leakshield...which by the way is a good but of kit, but certainly not required. I wanted one to play with.

I suspect you are already aware E, but just in case, I've read repeatedly on OCN that orientation is critical to minimize "ticking".

Yeah, really what I wanted to go with, but like you will just wait. Figured a cheap one can tide me over for now.

As for Leakshield, interesting concept, but I imagine has some kinks to work out. Looked like it could be very finicky.

So I took a look when I received it. It all appears to be POM and some other misc. plastic parts internally. I don't see any aluminum that could make contact with the loop/coolant.

Its a great product but it is finicky with the pressure. If it detects even the smallest pressure drop it will set off the alarm. Its standards I think are set too high to be realistic. You can make sure your fittings are tight and perfect but a good amount of time...you are never going to have a 100% air leak proof loop.

Im hoping this might be addressed in a firmware update as I think its parameters are set too high for monitoring a consumer WC loop. If my PC was a submarine... fine lol.

I do not use the fill feature on it, nice ability but I prefer filling my loop the old school way.

Yeah saw a couple of videos on it and saw the same issue with the alarm going off way too much. But agree, the underlying concept is pretty cool, they just have to adjust for actual real world things like you say whether firmware or a rev 2 or something. Nothing is 100% air tight, and I can see a myriad of reasons why the pressure could change.

Yeah, I actually meant to say that system temp obviously affects pressure which can also set it off. If my room ambient is on the warmer side, which most of the time it is with all the gear on, this will increase the system temp, thus affecting pressure values. I have just accepted it, the lights on it turn red, I disabled the audible alarm as that would 100% lead me to removing it from my system if I had to deal with that.
