Is the nvidia quadro m2000 compatible with Adobe premiere?

Is the nvidia quadro m2000 compatible with Adobe premiere?

 

Apparently it needs cuda api 10.2 or later & all I could find is the m2000 is insufficient?

 

If it's insufficient may you suggest the minimum compatible nvidia gpu?

Pretty sure I had an m2000 in a Dell Precision years ago. It ran Premier, After Effects, etc just fine. But those are pretty old cards so I wouldn't be surprised if they were no longer supported. The Adobe suite doesn't really need a Quadro though. Any newer GTX or RTX card would work fine.

@Fluxmavenso what did u think of the encoding performance of the quadro m2000? 

 

I suggested my friend buy an hp z840 with dual e5 2697 v3 and 64gb ddr4 ram.  Will it encode well with 56 threads?  

 

Know of any comparisons of say an i7 something or other compared to dual xeon e5 2697 v3?

No clue how it would compare with 56 threads. My only point of comparison was vs the university lab computers which were i5 iMacs with no dGPU. So the dell with an i7 and the Quadro completely slaughtered it.

 

Do you already have the Quadro? Wouldn't be hard to throw it in a couple different PCs and get a feel for how it performs.

I've done encoding with handbrake on my v3 Xeons.  Takes about 30-45 minutes or so to encode 90 minutes ish with 32 threads dedicated to it.  I think Handbrake has thread limitations though, and I've never used the software you're talking about.  If the software you're using can utilize all 56 threads, the thread count alone will probably be sufficient.  But as @Fluxmaven pointed out, wouldn't hurt to give the GPU a try if you already have one.  Or, also as mentioned, any modern GTX or RTX card will also do the job just fine too, I want to say GTX 900 series or newer should be supported?  Might be a cheaper route to go for an encoding GPU.  Quadro cards are generally pretty expensive for what you're getting even on the used markets.

Thanks guys.  Yes I suggested my friend buy the hp z840 with 64gb ram dual e5 2697 v3 4tb hdd with windows 10 pro installed and nvidia quadro m2000 as well.  He wants to make YouTube videos using Adobe premiere using the quadro m2000 and 56 threads.  He paid about 800 usd shipped with tax.  It scores like 2000 points cinebench r15 multi which is at least good value.

 

What do yall think?

That sort of setup will be fine for encoding and the price is not bad either:)
