Gotcha. Thanks for the advice. I have also listened to Flux' advice, and I understand that this is a process, and you are right in saying it doesn't need to be done today. Though being disabled and having no responsibility in work/raising a kid (mad respect), I have free time essentially all day, so I can do it.

 

I did all of the designs with you in mind when it was suggested, since I wanted to help out and I also have the ROG one. I thought primarily of you and tried to come up with some cool designs the best way I could. However, I do understand it wasn't asked for and I also understand we don't even have a site that can make them yet, so I don't need to rush.

 

Thanks for the reply, the encouragement and the wake up call to slow down essentially. I suppose I should remember how many revisions I did of the March foldathon logo, SM images with products, and so forth. It took like a month and a half.

There is really zero point in getting worked up over the merch. We aren't under any strict deadline here. When you have some time, make stuff. If it works out great, if not revise it till it is. 

 

Don't take it personal if people don't like everything you come up with. It's part of the process. You find out what works and doesn't work with practice. I've scrapped hundreds of designs that I though sounded cool until I started working on them and they just didn't pan out. Don't get hung up on things, just move on to the next idea.

Ok, as @UltraMega requested, I have made just transparent logos for each of the 4 designs at 1"x4". Additionally, all the backgrounds are separate and double size (2"x8"). Only took maybe 15 minutes to do, what was I complaining about? lol Zip is attached.

 

Also, thank you for the encouragement Flux, that really means a lot to me, actually both your and Avacado's encouragement has really helped, as I look up to and admire both of you (Flux for your graphic design and main rig, Avacado for his knowledge of electronics repair, benching and PC building and custom loops.)

 

I will try and work on not taking things personally and realize I may need to try multiple times at the same thing to come up with something that is satisfactory. You're also right about not getting worked up over this, I didn't really intend to but you guys are right, there's no rush.

 

Either way, I did what UltraMega needs so lets hope he can find a site that can make these real!

Just a suggestion that these discussions probably ought to be limited to internal communications and not front facing. IMHO, that is.

Neither Printify nor RedBubble have lanyards  which means these logos are really only good for stickers ATM, unless there was anything else you guys had in mind for them? Do you guys want a shirt with a vertical logo?

Have you tried looking at other sites that do 4 inch parachute pull lanyards? Guessing maybe you have but come up with nothing. If you want to turn them into stickers instead, that's fine.

When looking at other sites the main goal would be to have better international shipping options than printify, and then hopefully also have some better product options for things like lanyards. CustomInk does lanyards but not international shipping. Have not yet found one that is good for both, but if you know of any please let me know.

Thanks. I assume you saw all the shirt designs I did pages back?

 

When the store opens, it will initially have some very simple designs made by Enterprise that are basically just the site logo on a shirt. He wants to test the waters. A few months later, I will be able to order a few of the shirts I designed and test print quality such as blurriness, print coming off them, how they stand up to multiple washes in a washing machine, etc. If they check out, then they will become available to everyone.

 

Don't forget to thank UltraMega too as he's the one who found the site we are using (Printify) and used art assets I made to come up with some awesome shirts too

Yep, seen the designs. They all look awesome. I do prefer a more "minimalist" look on my shirts. Looking forward to the store opening or some shirts coming up for purchase.. will definitely be in for a shirt + hoodie.

Guys, I first started making t-shirt designs in December 2022 when I realized- if we are going to have merchandise the logo needed .net added to the end. I worked with Enterprise on 4 revisions of it over 3 weeks before we found one that was workable.

 

Then in January 2023 I spent most of the month doing graphics design and came up with 6 different designs for T-shirts. The first one I made was the folding@home shirt and I based the design on the OCN folding shirt I have. (and never wear anymore LOL)

 

Now, the time has finally come after my designs were finished - and after a lot of back and forth with @UltraMega and @ENTERPRISEand a lot of testing and trialling on E's part:

We have T-shirts using my designs in the store!!! @damricmentioned it in Discord and I went and looked and it literally made my day, I was actually almost about to jump up and down in happiness. And I can't wait to buy a standard logo T-shirt as well as a gray and red folding@home shirt. Maybe I'll burn the old OCN shirt in my neighbor's fire pit, lol!

Got a simple logo shirt, and the gray and red folding@home shirt! $77 including tax and shipping. I can't wait to get them and see what the quality is like. I will definitely be rocking these over the spring and summer. So grateful they have finally come to fruition.

So I got my two shirts today. I did finally hear back from Enterprise and he said the shirts are being printed with dye sublimation, as opposed to iron on that was previously used and eventually fades and flakes off in the wash.

 

 

 

Sorry about the bad photos but I had to use the wide-angle camera to fit the whole shirt in the picture, I got 2XL and they are huge, and hang down over my waist quite a bit. However a 1XL would probably be tight around my belly so, gotta compromise.

 

The print is amazing, especially on the folding shirt.

 

However, I am a bit disappointed with the material used. It is 100% polyester which makes it really stretchy but also too thin. They are probably twice as thin as a cotton tee. I know in the summer when walking into a grocery store is like walking into a freezer cause they have the a/c so low, I may need to wear these with an open zip up hoodie or something.

 

Otherwise, they are great. 4/5 stars. Love the print quality but wish they were thicker. I can't wait to wear them when it warms up.

oh they are dry-fit? That will actually be perfect for me living in the sweaty south

Yes. The closest comparison I can make is that they are like the brand Under armour (at least when I've felt their stuff clothes shopping, don't own anything by them)

 

If you're always hot, they'd be awesome. If you're always cold like me, gonna have to put an open zip hoodie over it or something.
