Am calling everyone with 6000 serie amd gpu and ryzen cpu to run Folding@home on both cpu and gpu.

I want to know how many thread can you run without a massive ppd drop on windows 11.

Nvidia user are allowed too

Thank you all 😀

Need one thread for windows processes and one thread PER GPU.

Pretty much what 🥑 said, but I'm a little more conservative.

On my 6 core Ryzens with 1 GPU I fold 10 of 12 threads.

In my 8 core Ryzens with 1 GPU I fold 14 of 16 threads.

With those configs the "inactive core" and its two threads are very loaded just managing stuff.

@Avacado @damric  Thank you 🙂  Are you folding on amd gpu too?

It either my 6800xt driver or my 13900k. Don't feel like selling everything but i will if that garbage intel thing can't work properly and will use my laptop till i got the fund for a ryzen build.

Seems there is information about your issue we don't know about. You said win 11, did you have this problem on Win 10? did you ever run Win 10 with this configuration? I know you are working on your custom loop, but is the CPU under water right now? You could be losing PPD due to throttling. We need more background info. It usually helps when you tell us what scenario it was working before and what things you have tried to fix it.

I have two Ryzen builds that fold nvidia cards. I have two that fold Radeons. All are Windows 10. I don't know anything about the last 2 gen of Intel with the big-small cores. I would have thought that the efficiency cores would be very advantageous for folding. Just whatever you do don't get the Arc GPU. They currently don't fold because of precision limits.

@Avacado Sorry about missing info.

Cpu do throttle but nothing extreme it won't drop under 5ghz. Seem like it tuned for this. 360mm aio do heatsoak but it still run fine.

Windows 10 was not tested. The intel thread director updatw was for win 11 only i think. Maybe it the issue.

@damric

No worry about arc gpu hahaha.

I was thinking the same with efficiency core but it seem something going wrong with f@h.

In my multithreaded game Beam NG my 13900k wreck the 7950x.

Maybe windows 11 Thread Director update is buggued. But i don't know how to contact microsoft or intel for that issue. 😔

I had 12 thread running on f@h and ppd dropped to 250k 😵
