Static site header?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

hope its not something already discussed... at least i didn't see a mention about it...

would be nice to have a "Static" site header which will not disappear when scrolling down. Would be handy mainly for the mobile phone browsing..

Pros i see:

- you have an "home" button (by clicking the logo)

- your seeing your notifications all time

- can browse the categories even your at the end of an conversation

- makes it easier to navigate even your in a conversation

Cons i see:

- will take a bit of the screen (but could be handled by "minimalizing" it?)

What you thing about it? 🙂

I see what you're saying there, so like the black banner would be visible all the time, but maybe with a button to minimize it (UNLESS you're already scrolled to the top already)?  I could see it.

This is something we can consider, I will check with the dev to see if it is possible. If it is possible, then I will see what the community feedback is on this 🙂

If we were to go in this direction I would envisage this being a site configurable option.

I would envisage a moving Nav Bar as below:

MovingNavbarone.thumb.png.00deacfde243ab6c34d0660b1cfeb8a9.png

Operationally I would imagine it functioning as below:

MovingNavbarTwo.thumb.png.864f00d9a9936e3be3f3d4530139e211.png

Of course once you browse back to the top of the page, the NavBar would retain its default style and operability as below.

I would envisage a moving Nav Bar as below: - i doo understand and yes exactly what i wanted. But it will be static /fixed right? Not like the "hiding" taskbar at windows right? Bcs it would be ok for PC interface but kind of annoying on the mobile phone / tablet interface..

Operationally I would imagine it functioning as below: - just pure curiosity - what interface you mean PC or mobile/tablet? I think it could work as well good for PC not just mobile..

Now is the Question if the "FOLKS" wants it or not ... exept for you and pioneerisloud it seems like not rly a hot topic to others :scared_animatedfear::confused_help:

Anyway, Im rly appreciate your considering this 🙂

The Navbar would follow you down the page, it would not autohide or anything like that. Technically speaking a static NavBar is what we already have as it does not move, that is why I refer it to as a moving NavBar.

The moving Nav Bar development as per the above images are for Desktop only. However the desktop version would possibly take elements from the mobile version to ensure that it remains trimmed down, that is why on the above images I have incorporated the hamburger icon that would reveal a drop down menu for navigation to other areas of the site.

The Navbar on mobile will not need any changes and we can just turn that into a moving navbar as it is.
