EXTREMEHW Foldathon July 22-23rd 00:00 UTC

Recommended Posts

Premium Platinum - Lifetime

Weather has been unseasonably cool in the Northern Midwest for like a week. Around 75f-80f tops. This is strange for mid to late July, usually we are around 85-95f with high humidity. I bet we'll have a really hot August instead.

A little late on the start, but at least one GPU will be folding for the FaT.

Fired up F@H on the outgoing 2080 Super one last time. 😀

No AMD cards will be tortured this weekend. Haha. Started the comp with 2 cards, then 10 minutes later Mother nature came thru very upset. My electricty shut off 4 times in a 30 minutes period luckily they were short and back to business as usual. Fingers crossed.

You mean to join as a folder?

It pretty easy just have to download the software here : https://foldingathome.org/?lng=en

Setup an account save your passkey

And add the team 239902 In the software to fold for the team here.

WUs I'm getting are pretty inconsistent as far as PPD goes, at least compared to what I'm used to. The last time I folded, I was consistently getting 2.2-2.5M PPD but over the last few days, it's been jumping between 1.2-3.5M PPD.

Power went out here too but only briefly. Some extreme lightning storm after some extreme heat and humidity today. Internet was out for a bit too.

Yeah pretty much just go here:

https://foldingathome.org/start-folding/?lng=en

Like said above, make a folding name, and enter our team number 239902. Using a pass key will allow you to get huge bonus points for quick return.

https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/points/passkey/?lng=en

Your hardware in your main rig is very good for folding, but I would tune it for efficiency instead of all-out clocks. Folding eats electricity but you can still crunch units fast while conserving power.

It's nice that I had good folding weather all weekend. It's a shame I'm a moron and switched my computer off for the first night, not realizing that if I do that, the folding stops. At least I remembered to not switch it off for the other two nights.

Alrighty, I pm'd @tictoc to pick his winner for the graphics card.

For my donated prize, it looks like the t-shirt is not available at this time so I'm switching that to either a hat, or a mug+coaster. The winner of that is @HaRdLy007 so Jeff pick the design you want from the EHW store and PM me.

For next month I'm looking around August 19-20th and I'll announce that around the beginning of the month or so.

Thanks everyone for the great work!
