It's a good idea. Anyone who has a PC with only one m.2 slot who wants to add a drive and is thinking about a GPU upgrade in the mid-range would surely be interested in this.

I would sort of understand one of those brands from the left field doing this...but seems like an odd move for Asus.  If you are buying a GPU at the price bracket of the 4060 Ti, I would expect generally that you would also have a motherboard with at least one M.2 slot. 

 

Not sure I see the audience for this tech combo. Plus...I generally think putting an SSD near a heat generating source like a GPU is not massively wise.

You have to go back pretty far now to find boards without m.2 slots, but what is a lot more common is boards with one slot and a small m.2 SSD installed from a time when SSDs were more expensive. 

 

Let's say you have a micro ATX board (in which a pcie m.2 adapter won't fit while a GPU is installed) and you are an average novice user who doesn't know how to clone a drive or anything, but you want more SSD storage on top of your small C drive. That's where this comes in to play. It's not for people like us.

Looks like a good choice for itx builds. That might not have enough space for more than 1 or 2 ssds.
