Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is soon going to be remastered with GTA V's Rage Engine by some dedicated fans, as revealed by a new trailer.

The game's Nextgen Edition, which is in development by the modding team Revolution Team, won't be just another conversion of the city but a proper remaster that will feature all of the original game's missions. While bringing over all of the story content of the original is the team's main priority, the Nextgen Edition will also feature other improvements, such as those seen in the Definitive Edition for the city itself and the weapons, improved textures for cars and NPCs, neon lights on buildings from Vice City Stories and additional fixes.

so Rockstar (tried?) to slap OpenIV with a cease and desist but they're OK with this?  

 

hopefully it actually comes out. it's what the Definitive Editions should've been.

Was wondering the same thing most of those project get shutdown pretty fast.

Looks like this being made by a Russian mod team, so... ya know... probably not much Rockstar can do to stop them. But it's also due out in 2025, and supposedly "it will be a completely different game, in a completely different city."

 

You might wanna move this out of the news section since it's just an announcement for a mod that's still over a year away and may never release, or may just end up as a vice city inspired asset flip.

Well kinda like a game leak. Same as hardware we are still waiting for 4090ti haha.

 

I got faith it will be done. Back in the days we had a mod that combined gta 3 vice city and san andreas in a single game.

 

Russian are the best for crazy mod and keeping old game alive.
