Lossless Scaling is a tool on Steam which was first released in 2018. Its main future is to upscale games and software using spatial algorithms and if possible with machine learning. The tool supports various upscaling algorithms, such as AMD FSR, NVIDIA NIS, and some more sophisticated algorithms popular among gamers using emulators. In short, this tool expands upscaling technology to a wide range of games and other software like emulators. The developer assures compatibility with a broad range of graphics cards, including integrated graphics solutions. Today LSFG received a very important update, which is now available on Steam. Notably, the frame generation feature does not require upscaling, which means users can use Frame Generation without increasing resolution.

DLSS and FSR frame gen do not require upscaling.

Since emulators already are simple to run at above native res, I'm not sure what this really offers.

Interesting tech tho, Will have to learn more about it to really judge.
