The Embedded World 2024 conference witnessed several products targeting the embedding and compact computing segment, with the likes of AMD's Versal Gen 2 chip and Intel's Meteor Lake-PS lineup. However, ADLINK has decided to step in and integrate Intel's new low-profile Arc A380E into its EGX-PCIE-A380E professional graphics card, potentially exploring a new competitor for the low-power markets.

WCCFTECH.COM

The Taiwanese firm ADLINK has unveiled a new graphics card, incorporating Intel's ARC A380E and a low-profile design for basic tasks.

Has intel fixed the drivers for a380?  My only experience was horrible, it couldn't play youtube videos without freezing up.

Kinda like me the other days. Tried opening a video file ans both my desktop and laptop with Amd gpu would either freeze or gpu driver crash.

13900k uhd worked fine.

I read that they improved driver but i can't says for youtube.

Amd 6800xt i had was not even able to run 4k 120hz without dropping frame.

The big thing with the intel cards is what I've also said about AMD in the past - How well they sink or swim will entirely depend on driver support. Nvidia really nails drivers and has done so for many many years. Hoping to see more of that coming out of both AMD and Intel in the future.

I bought an A770 at launch. Every time I put it on the bench it's improved a bunch with driver updates. I was planning on finally using it regularly in the streaming rig, but they still haven't fixed the high idle power usage. I replaced it with a 4060 and it's better in every way. Uses less than half the power under load, sips at idle, and it can actually run Folding@home.

I really want the Arc cards to do well as we could really use a strong 3rd option to shake up the market. Outside of AV1 transcoding, I don't really have any use for the current Arc lineup. Hopefully Battlemage brings us a decent bump in performance.

I mean Nvidia has almost 30 years on Intel. Intel was never going to have driver parity out the gate, but what is clear is how much they keep improving them as time goes on. I personally hope Intel keeps at it because this space needs a strong 3rd competitor. Likewise I am interested to see how Battlemage shakes out.
