EK is Imploding | Investigative Report

Recommended Posts

Neurotix has an EK AIO after seeing them reviewed here. first and last purchase for sure. I've mounted it and unmounted it a couple of times and it's decent.  I also respect E's stance on the issue as well.

@26:10 "Is there a cultural issue between the Europeans and American's?" Edvard replies "Do you understand the cultural difference between Europe and America?" lol, Like it's a great divide that can only be conquered by a select few..... emoji_u1f644.png

I mean, I understand by and large what he is referring to but I don't understand how it's relevant here. It's unprofessional AF. Generally speaking, some Eastern Europeans believe Westerns are snow flakes. That comes from living through soviet occupation, experiencing devastation from world wars, heck, literally right now Russia's attempt to occupy of Ukraine. So I presume that the Slovenian office treats some complaints from the US office as... superficial or non-issues. And I feel that's validated by the CEO's response.

"We didn't know about it and if we knew, we would of taken actions".

So does that makes it OK that nothing was done? Don't you think if there are issues, no matter if they're serious or not, that you're not accountable for a better communication system in your own company to ensure people who have issues, can safely flag them, escalate them, to have them addressed? Should you not support your employees, their managers to ensure when those issues come in, they are tracked and resolved? Someone might not report it, and that's definitely a valid issue but have you ever asked, why? If NO ONE is raising issues, you can't just presume everything is fine. What are you proactively doing to track and ensure employee safety?

Anyway... mini rant over. You can tell the CEO shouldn't of taken this interview in the first 2mns. He's talking more about products and selling their presence at upcoming Computex than proposing solutions for the challenges raised.

Just finished this one, will catch up on the next vid shortly.

This is sad.

I have the EK Nucleus AIO black version, 360mm in my rig using Prolimatech PK-3 Nano and love it. In the EHW review, it was actually 1c better than a custom loop.

If they will not be around and continue making such awesome AIOs, that really sucks.

I've got an EK Basic 240 in my 5800x / 6900xt build.  Works fine, but I wouldn't say it was a "good" cooler.  Again, that's the "Basic" model 240 though.  Got it as a freebie in one of the events here a few years back.  I'm not going to complain about it since it was a freebie, but honestly its not any better than any other generic 240mm AIO I have either.  It's also starting to "growl" now weirdly, and that AIO wasn't used but for 6 months so far (as I moved the 5800x system shortly after building it, and that AIO sat for years).

I do recall reading the review on that Nucleus AIO that was well reviewed, and yeah that AIO looked great.  EK has the tools, knowledge, and staff to do great things.  I didn't read why they're imploding, I just assume its yet another sign of the times these days.  I'd like to see them do better, absolutely.  But their QC has gone downhill a lot the last few years anyway.  Most of the REAL water enthusiasts have moved onto other brands anyway because EK has been going downhill on the custom scene for years.

Yeah, I haven't read much into it but agree with the sign of the times thing. I guess their work culture is toxic, but that is not something I knew when I bought my cooler, and honestly doesn't matter to me because this thing performs so well. Like I said, it will really suck if they aren't around to make more great AIOs for newer platforms.

I did have an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360mm and used it on my C8H/5900x build but unfortunately, the vrm heatsinks on my new Asus Strix x670e are too tall so the Arctic wouldn't fit (38mm radiator and it wouldn't clear the heatsinks). The EK Nucleus is a 22mm rad not counting fans so it fits. The problem with having a midtower.

My personal belief is financially and structurally, they can weather these recent events and will stick around, but the trust and reputation took the biggest hit.
