As time progressed, strings found in Source 2 updates seemingly referring to elements in the Half-Life universe started appearing. He was hesitant to say anything publicly about it until he was sure, and then getting married earlier this year put him behind on his usual weekly data mining. It wasn't until an actress posted her resume to her website, mentioning working on a Valve production codenamed "Project White Sands," that he decided to reveal his findings (above).

"Almost everything you're about to hear is real, is not speculation, and comes directly from datamines of Valve's recent updates," McVickers said in the opening of his latest video. "Yes. Someone screwed up," he added, referring to the leaked resume.

If true, it seems that Valve may want voxel physics to be the next big gimmick for Half Life.

How many times have we been here before lol. Something mentions an element related to HL in code or other document and everyone goes OMG HALF LIFE 3. I mean if true, I certainly would not be mad, but colour me a sceptic for now.

This article doesn't do a good job of explaining the details of this leak very well. 

 

The leak really comes from a voice actress who put "project white sands" on her resume. She definitely did some voice work for Valve. 

 

There's a bit more to it than just that, but but that's probably the most concrete part of this.

 

I actually think it's likely to be true that project white sands is a new HL game. Valve did say some 4-5 years ago that they were refocusing on game development and planned to make some single player games. They haven't said anything about it since then, but many assume the team that made Alyx started working on a new single player project after Alyx was finished. 

 

Valve has worked on HL3 at least twice before, and canceled those projects. So even if this is a real HL3 leak, I that doesn't mean Valve will release anything.
