Sorry, didn't know anyone was looking.

What's the competition?

HWBOT.ORG

Level 2 OC-ESPORTS competition running from 8/15/22 12:00 PM till 10/15/22 12:00 PM.

I do realize that we don't have the members for this and I also realize that not everyone has the components required as they span a WIDE range of generations. For instance, below is just the requirement for the NVidia category. Requires a DDR2 capable chipset for at least one round.

Ah, looks interesting. Have fun! I've got an EVGA GTX 570 HD, maybe I'll keep this around for when I eventually get a house and can have a proper workshop area and do weird builds.

No games played yet, but I have tinkered around with the OS, which is the main reason why I bought it. 🙂

Kinda reminds me of my wife's Switch. She got some controllers to replace the stock ones on the side and now it handles more like a controller.

Kinda wish I would have held onto mine. One of the best Craigslist deals I ever made was straight trading my Radeon HD 5770 for a 560ti Classy. Dude just wanted to use Eyefinity. I assume his parents bought the classy because I don't know anyone who would have made that trade lol.

Ordered this to use as a benchmarking kit. Appears to be a b-die kit for pretty cheap ($89+tax). Hoping can help me with SuperPI 32M as my G.Skill Hynix kit just couldn't be tuned much.

He most likely put it in his garage after taking it out of his loop with NO stop fittings installed for a few years. It's the only way THAT much damage/oxidation could happen. There is Ni flaking going on, but that vast majority of what you see is rust. And if it isn't, it's the worst oxidation I have ever seen in person.

Oh 100%, I agree there is user negligence here on the part of the seller. At the very least, I put my blocks in a plastic ziplock if I have no stop fittings. But usually can get some cheaper stop fittings out there for just this sort of use.

I'm going to see if I still have my 980 Strix block around and see what it looks like on the inside. 😂

I don't know anything about this shop, but they had 1 in stock, so wish me luck. Yes I spent too much on it. Do note this is CAD though, US dollars I think that's more like $98. Still, a bit overpriced, but hey supposedly in stock.

Anyone had any dealings with Dazmode?

Yea man, wow. Thats really expensive. Could probably order it direct from AQ for less. Glad you got one though. You will love it.

https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=3953&language=en

$67 Euro. I doubt shipping would cost more than $25.

*Edit NVM, it does cost a lot to ship. LOL a rip off all around.

I actually did look at Aquacomputer directly and it was same cost (part plus shipping converted from Euro to USD) but shipping from Germany.

Anyway, I'll just be glad to get data I can feed into Aquasuite and the Octo.

I'm too cheap to overpay for a high fllow NEXT. I bought a D5 NEXT right when they first came out and its neat but I never look at the little screen.

I just picked up a high flow 2 instead. Also still have the original high flow sensor which has been running great for years.

image.thumb.jpeg.2cddbf8b417bd79f5defd1004a8dcb27.jpeg

Also swung by Microcenter to pick up some cheap open box finds that I reserved the the other day.  I had been keeping my eye on the 6900xt block for a while as the price had been dropping the past few weeks. Ended up snagging it for $18.28 after tax. The 16mm hardline fittings were about a dollar a pop but I had gotten an email that they were out of stock after I put in an online reservation. To my surprise they handed me the bag of fittings and only charged me my updated order total which was for just the block. So I guess after they had already altered the order they found the fittings and just gave them to me since they were already OOS in their system.

Now I just need to snag a reference 6900XT.

I'm too cheap to overpay for a high fllow NEXT. I bought a D5 NEXT right when they first came out and its neat but I never look at the little screen.

I just picked up a high flow 2 instead. Also still have the original high flow sensor which has been running great for years.

Fantastic block price!

Yeah I feel a bit bad for paying as much as I did for the Highflow Next, but I do actually make use of the screen when I am in the middle of gaming or what have you. Helps me to gauge how my fan profiles are doing, or just a quick data point at a glance without opening software. It was a feature I wanted.

It arrived yesterday, but now need to gather the will to actually drain the system and install, which will also necessitate me cutting a longer hard line tube run from the GPU (easiest way to go with it as it is a straight piece). Not sure I'll get to that this weekend. I am starting to take a look at the Cooler Master fans I got in Monday for a review.

...because everyone should own at least one thing made by a butt company. I'll be giving this NOS item my steampunk treatment.

Note: it's actually a New England Butt Company cast iron rope machine gear cover. You can read more about that here.

More coming soon.
