Nice! If you have issues with the driver mixing, you might have more luck with Linux.

'Technically', it is rated at DDR5 7800 and it was only 1 stick at muchos voltas, but still, got to like that growth in headroom over the past six months or so.

Somewhat related, IMC / memory speed is turning out to be a major handicap for AM5 for now; they better come up with a revision soon for an otherwise impressive platform.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they run the tests using two different 32GB sticks (DDR5 8000, DDR5 7800)?

...those memory timings though 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩

Anyway, 🤣, while muchos voltas sounds like something you might hear in a sales pitch for a Musk product south of the border at the bottom of the lower 48, it does raise a pertinent question: does HWBOT really care how much voltage you push through anything when competing in any of its competitions?

Frying one's daily driver otoh...

@iamjanco Do Eat or Do It choose wisely 😛  Personally I'm out of the running for being able to afford one of those over hyped/priced cards IMO of course.  If I had more money than I knew what to do with I'd have the best one money could buy.  Like Charlie Sheen  Hookers and Blow ya know.  Just kidding, I think my humor might not get appreciated much around here LOL.  My last Babies and sink water joke was exiled into non existence 😝  Well that or I just forgot where I posted it 🤔

Edit I'm an idiot.  I forgot to hit the submit button in the thread it was in.

...ignoring need vs want, what kind of monitor are you planning to drive with the GPU ? If it's 4K120(+), go for the 4090. FYI, I just did my weekly check of 4090s available in the Great White North at four major online/bricks-and-mortar retailers, and there were none available. Caseking.de in Germany had one (Zotac)...besides, you can always resell it to Pook for a nice mark-up...

That's pretty much it, exactly. I'm a physical train wreck whose eyes also aren't in the best of shape. A 4K120(+) monitor wouldn't necessarily do me a whole lotta good; and owning the card itself would likely amount to little more than epeen.

train-wreck.jpg.dc639f0a34f08ed4f19590939f557e94.jpg

...well, not quite. But you might be surprised at the positive spin I have at the moment on staying alive 😉

I'm a lowlander realist though; and who knows, maybe they'll even write songs about me long after I'm gone 🙂🤔🤪

...or at least maybe share them?
