So, did you have to do a new 2 year contract to get $85/m rate?
That same plane for me is $99.99/m & I never see anywhere near 1.2 Gb download speeds, even with a new Nighthawk 2.5 Gb modem & my PC connected directly to the modem for a "clean speed test" ... maybe 900 Mb is the best I'm seeing  Comcast sucks, cant even go back to only 800Mb and save any money - it would actually cost even more ????  Comcast = monopoly + bad customer service & automation hell to try & get any help / Live body on the phone.

back on subject: bought some Bird seed for the cat TV

Yeah want to say it was 1 year contract with 2 or 3 year price lock.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I hate these pricing games. If fiber or other comparably fast services hit my area, I'll happily ditch Comcast.

For now my only other options where I live would be DSL that they can't reliably deliver more than 30mbps with, or something dumb like mobile 5G or satellite or something.

The service itself though has been fine for us. We pretty much always have 10-20% faster speeds than what we are paying for regarding the download. Upload is what it is. As for outages, been some but usually they tell us ahead of time if planned which my old service never did, so I honestly can't complain at all about the service itself.

Several CAT8 network cables, to build out my network upgrade.

I only needed CAT6A; but, the price was so close that I decided why not.

I've discovered a bad CAT6 in my existing setup & decide to move to full support for 2.5Gb speeds that my hardware supports to improve the movement of data across my network.

Also am trying to figure-out if my ISP 1.2 Gbps service only being ~.900 GB is on my side

I am only getting ~0.900 Gb at modem w/  1Gb laptop (should be .940-.950 on 1Gb card) & (the 2.5 Gb PC rigs are behind 2.5Gb  router, on Cat 6)

So is it my network cables or Comcast as the root cause of poor speed?; just decided to remove the network cables as a potential bottleneck, currently using Cat5E & Cat 6 network cables.

Will test with these new cables before upgrading any more cables & see if it delivers any improvements on network or from ISP

These are the Brands popped up when searching the web / never used them before

DbillionDa Cat8 Ethernet Cable, Outdoor&Indoor, Heavy Duty High Speed 26AWG, 2000Mhz with Gold Plated RJ45 Connector, Weatherproof S/FTP UV Resistant

UGREEN Cat 8 Ethernet Cable, High Speed Braided 40Gbps 2000Mhz Network Cord Cat8 RJ45 Shielded Indoor Heavy Duty LAN Cables

I like quirky hardware. Finally picked a 12490f. China exclusive model that's basically a 12400f with a higher base clock and 2MB more l3 cache. Got it on AliExpress so I was excited that it came in the black retail box. The 5700X3D I bought a while ago just came in a plastic tray. Also grabbed a Barrow direct die block for it. Totally unnecessary but they were having a sale and I needed to spend more to use the coupon. 😂

Also got some new boots.
