Pretty cool to see my 1080ti brought to it's limit. Even without ray tracing this game is both beautiful and highly demanding. I'm using a mix of high and medium settings with resolution scaling down to 65% and I'm just barely getting a decent frame rate in 4k.

Haven't encountered any major bugs yet. A few minor visual glitches but that's it.

It's really nice that this game makes really strong usage of resolution scaling because it's basically required to play.

Pretty nuts that I am playing the most anticipated game of the year on Linux on launch day. :wheee_orange:

There are a number of gotchas to play it on Linux, but in the short time that I've been playing, I've had zero issues.

Playing on a Radeon VII running at 2075/1150, 3440x1440, high preset with motion blur off.  I didn't really mess with the settings too much, since I really just wanted to see if the game was actually playable.  At high settings FPS was hovering in the 35-45 range, so the setting could use some tuning.  Even at the lower frame rate the game was still smooth, and I didn't encounter any bugs.

Since this is a screenshot thread, here's the first one for your thread. :classic_biggrin:

Installed this on my X5650, worked well until it crashed in the prologue.
Did some digging, AVX & AVX2 instructions needed.

Zero issues on my Razer Blade / Ultra Ray tracing settings.

Downloading it now - on what appears somewhat overworked Steam servers....

EDIT - Finally got it loaded; trying 4K RTX max / DLSS balanced / quality for a single card ...continuously running around the same bar trying to avoid a loan shark who someone else owes money. Once I get into this a bit more, i'll try older CFR drivers etc but for now, a single and well-tuned 2080 Ti seems to be the bare minimum for 4k/RTX/DLSS...

...and here are some 4K / textures high / RTX max / DLSS balanced shots from the 'Corporate rat' segment. So far (just day 2), I like the graphics in that segment the best (though not necessarily the embedded story-line)

OUCH! How did this screwup happen? Optimized for Nvidia and Intel much CD Projekt Red? I've stood up 4 U & recommended U against all types of talk, but this is kinda hard to accept.

Nvidia shill =CD Projekt Red did work with Nvidia, in their capacity as an official technology partner to bring raytracing to Cyberpunk 2077.  https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-wont-support-raytracing-on-amd-cards-at-launch/

I HOPE this isn't being an Intel shil = https://www.tomshardware.com/news/cyberpunk-2077-amd-ryzen-performance-bug-fix-testing?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=socialflow&fbclid=IwAR3tz1nVaStDmShhEO3l552Nf9mN2O2EjG3J2nl-_HxagfjzPWtPsCr88WU

"The biggest hack to emerge centers around Cyberpunk's apparent inability to use AMD Ryzen processors to the fullest. Instead of using all of the threads available to the processor, the game code only runs on physical cores in some circumstances. As a result, some threads are left unused, leaving potential performance on the table. These same problems don't appear to apply to Intel's processors, but we're also busy testing several Core models to make sure."

I wonder if this is also effecting the consoles @ all? (they're 8 core amd cpu's)

...yeah, I run an AMD 2950X, and CPU utilization looks a bit weird. Mind you, it has 16 physical cores (32T) and I play at 4K which reduces the importance of the CPU, and so far, there doesn't seem to be a performance issue. Also, the 2950X has a few tricks up its sleeve (re. UMA/LMA). Still, I'm going to check out those fixes you linked. Tx again

The cpu's with more than 8 cores they tested actually showed a loss of performance,so you may want to ck it both ways. See where the 5950x took a hit after it was modified in the screenshot for example.

...will do. 2950X on LMA (rather than UMA) would probably gain more, but again, at 4K (rather than the 1080p above), the GPU plays a bigger role. I'm at between 55 and 68 fps / with 4k max textures / RTX Ultra / DLSS balanced. Still, that fix is nice to know about, and hacking .exe files with a hex editor brings back memories of my youth ?

I have 30 hours in the game and I will admit I was quite lucky with my experience but not at start.
For example my old 5650X with the RTX2070 made me very sad. In the prologue for the Corpco path, I crashed constantly at one point.

I researched the issue and there were many people with the same problem. Lack of AVX and AVX2.

I fired up my laptop and my experience was sublime.

Playing the game on 1080p, Ray Tracing ultra with DLSS auto and V-sync at 60Hz.

Zero crashes all worked perfectly.

Horizon Zero dawn had the same AVX restriction on their game a few weeks ago.

Death Stranding is not fixed even today.

Seems INTEL and NVIDIA paid a few things here and there.

Without my Razer Gaming laptop, I would not have been able to play until the AVX thing would be patched.

Cyberpunk 2077 really does look very good with RTX (and even with DLSS 'help'). Below are a few comparison screenies for a complex and stressful outside scene, all with 4K max textures / max RTX settings, on a well-cooled 2080 Ti, and a TR 2950X in game mode (LUMA instead of UMA).

Comparisons were run several times in a row and mid-point for each setting is depicted below (pics are 4K png converted to 4K jpg, given file size; fps at top right corner).

4K / max textures / max RTX - 'as is' / no DLSS

4K / max textures / max RTX - 'balanced' DLSS

I usually play 4K max textures / max RTX either with 'quality' or 'balanced' DLSS. Here is another nice shot with 'balanced' DLSS...not too much wrong with it, IMO

I am a bit annoyed because in this game all NPCs look better than your char :(. I a mean Corpo b*tch who is not afraid to use Sandevistan and chop heads of with the Katana. Full legendary Corpo & Mantis Blade but for the pics I gave her red shoes to match the bike and hair.

Have you  tried playing on your 5650X with the 1.05 patch?

• Removed the use of AVX instruction set thus fixing crashes occurring at the end of the Prologue on processors not supporting AVX.

I tried but the game runs horrendous.
Takes 3 minutes to load Downtown.
The bright side you can listen to the whole news snippet while you wait.

Then when you get into combat there are moments where she freezes.

I cannot compare before the patch because I could not advance far enough in the game.

I will stick to my laptop as I had zero game breaking bugs or crashes.
I do not want to tempt fate.

New patch was just released 1.06.

Slowly getting there. Not the strongest Rifle in the game. I liked the owner :).
Not the biggest hits but depending on the NPC I headshot for 75k :)

Shame crit stats are bugged. I was a full Deadeye build thinking all will stack with Satori's Katana.
Seeing there was no difference I mixed deadeye with Armadillo.
Some NPCs hit very hard. One guy gave me a boot in the face and I was flatlined *rofl*.

I actually got this game for the 4K eye candy; it may sound sacrilege, but my fav activity in Cyberpunk 2077 is to roam all over the place in peace...to that end, I have stolen quite a few nice cars  already. When I drive through Night City and see a place I like to explore, such as a bar or a shop, I just get out and do my thing. Still, you can run into hostile areas then where you got to 'blasta' a few folks...speaking of which, I saw a lot of vids about 'skippy'; I shall try to find it !
