To be honest, I was looking at server hardware. I would love to have a giant pile of CPU's folding small units, cranking out 20 units an hour :classic_cool:

It has occurred to me that I should get grills for these fans. I have some mismatched grills from over the years but I would prefer matching ones, or one giant 1080 grill to protect the intake side of the blades.

 

Otherwise they worked fine when I tested them in PST 3x3 mode as @Avacado recommended.

In that direction yes, but I'm making a gap between the top of the case and the filter/fans. I am going to leave extra tubing so I can set the rad box aside to access my case.

I really like the idea, but try to imagine case flow here. You will have how many intakes below? 3? and 9 exhaust fans with filters. Would create a negative pressure system within your case, starving the 1080 of cool air flow. I would propose the 1080 on top as intake with filters and case fans as exhaust. Would cool your components and create positive pressure in your case, helping to keep out dust.

Looks good. Three Thoughts. 

 

Looks like you have a g1/4 temp probe mounted in the top of your res, that is not a good place for accurate loop temp readings as there is a high chance of it not being completely submerged in your coolant. I can't remember if there were 3 ports on the 1080, but if there were that would be a good place, otherwise maybe a T junction would suffice somewhere in the loop. 

 

I am not familiar with the X470 board, but most boards can turn off 2 SATA ports to give increased bandwidth on that 4x slot you mentioned that turns off when populated with an M.2 drive. I would read the manual to see if that is an option.  

 

Rubber dampeners would help your concerns over pump vibration. 

 

All builds are easy in theory and almost always in my builds, they go from "This should take a day" to "Holy * iv'e been working on this build for a week.

Actually that was an LED light I was messing around with. I don't have any temp probes, but if you link me to one I will get one :D

 

l'll check that out about the SATA. It's something I noticed when we were folding last week that the last slot was disabled by my 2nd NVMe drive.

 

I am looking at fabbing a rubber dampener. I just got my first pump clamp in place. It was tricky getting the holes drilled just right so I'm moving as slow as a snail. Interestingly enough I had randomly chose metric screws for all my aluminum angle stuff, and my M4 screws are exactly the same thread as the ones that came with the pump, just a bit longer, so I might end up using mine.

Plugs into any g1/4 thread in your loop. I always rad mount them. Would plug into one of the 4 2 pin tsensor plugs on your shinny new OCTO.

My AM4 Optimus block shipped yesterday. I just got my Alphacool 3070 block on Wednesday.

 

Still need to get two triple radiators, fans, and then figure out what I am doing for tubing and fittings. I think I can fit a thicker radiator on top with a thinner/standard radiator on the bottom. I don't do push/pull usually opting for just push.

LAWD. You going to pressure test WITH coolant in? ? You have worked so hard to not air test BEFORE adding coolant. 

 

I use the one linked below. and instead of masturbating the mini pump, I attach a bike tire pump and she is pressurized in 2 pumps.
