Not a refugee

Not coming from the other forum, just anti-social(media) and need somewhere with similarly minded people. 
 

Haven’t done a forum intro in like 15 years, but here I am. I am not a serious computer enthusiast and I don’t play PC games. I just like to mess with stuff and sometimes that’s computer hardware. Because of this, all I have is old stuff but it’s still fun for me.

I don’t know why I’m always surprised when there are other adults on the internet.... but it’s not THAT old haha. It feels old as far as technology is concerned though. 
 

current project is i7 3960x and gtx titan blacks. Just added a 3 titan yesterday, but I had to fire up my lathe to make the fittings instead of being able to buy them off the shelf. This also makes my stuff feel old

Good to have you here. I get you on the social media front, some love it , some hate it. I personally think quality content and conversations are where forums excel over social media, so here we are lol.

 

That is a nice looking build, in fact I am sure it is still a capable machine, especially if you are not a super gamer but those Titan blacks are not exactly slouches ....though you clearly like a little bit of 3DMark

lol, I'm currently clearing the hdd on my other pc, cpu=i7 2700 gpu=gtx970 so you're far from being old hardware wise. (deleting games off the drive since I use the new rig mostly for my gaming)

 thanks! I like to think it checks email at least as fast as my phone. i have been doing some benchmarking, which i guess is a form of gaming

thanks for noticing. it has been treating me well so far. i have had some bad luck recently with used boards, but this one is a jewel.
