  1. So I've got the pair of 5700xt's folding. An extra heater in the room ? Decided to let them run for 239902 right away ?
  2. That's a pretty important detail for a motherboard with that many ports. And it's better to be safe... who knows where this build will end!
  3. Oh yeah, I'm into this! That motherboard is pretty cool
  4. I didn't like switching during this comp, but after doing the previous 2 FaT's I had to keep it going (badgecollector ?) But after the FaT the teams ppd will only go up! ?
  5. And after trying everything, without succes, you go back to the first settings/hardware and it boots right up. Sometimes there is no answer.. Take a cold one and try again
  6. Yeah, not sure why I said that. Must have something to do with getting a new system to work that doesn't want to ?
  7. Totally understandable, and you still have an awesome rig! So it'll easily make up point wise for a few hours of gaming I'm pretty fortunate to have a cheap apartment with plenty of room. With this Covid stuff going on there is not much to be spending the money on anyways, but still I made a few promises to myself before buying this. It's only been a month since the 2080ti ?
  8. Safe drunk driving ? 95% I guess, so I don't feel guilty playing a game on the main rig
  9. I've been using a VM before, but that is about 10 years ago. In the ship diesel engine world there is no need for IT training ? And yes, I like learning things like this and using them or playing with it, who knows when you need it for real! I didn't think of it that way, but that's a good reason to use them. Makes a system safe and easy to work on and saves some money too!
  10. Nice! Can't wait for the better days with no more WU shortage See you on the other side ?
  11. Not too bad for 2 2080ti's with an overclock I guess So I'm switching my clients to 37726 for the FaT after 100+ units and 8+ mil points, pretty happy with that! And after the FaT there will be a little bit more hardware for 239902 ??
  12. I've got the VM running, did a few tests and it seems to be working properly ? This wont be a fix for every gpu using app, but at least I can run a bunch of them off of the VM! Thanks again guys
  13. Ah, that's why. I might have to give that a try, "free" points! With my power limit I see mine at max 330 watt, with the rest of the system added that's 570ish watt on the wall monitor.
  14. That is a sweet board ? So that's why you need the caselabs case?? The ppd difference between several units is a lot, and the same goes for the power consumption. On some units it's right at the max I'm allowing it to use, and some units are only at 75%. If you want an accurate comparison between an actual slot and the riser you'll have to get the ppd for each unit both on the riser and without it. That'll be a nice database ? What kinda clocks do you run on those 2080ti's? Cause I've never seen mine above 3.8mil ppd ?
  15. Thanks a lot! Giving it a try as we speak ? ?
  16. Sounds interesting, might give a VM a try. Will have to look into it though, doing anything software related has been too long. I prefer the hardware side of pc's
  17. Thanks for the reply! I have the client at Full, also set the priority in task manager "above normal". For any app that I could find the setting I have it turned off, but for the ones I can't find the setting it's a pain in the behinds..
  18. Hey guys, there is an issue I've got with several apps in combination with F@H. When the folding at home client is running and I start playing music on Spotify, open Steam to do whatever I need to do or have Corsair iCue running in the background I see the power consumption from the GPU drop drastically, which automatically increase the TPF and drops the PPD. After looking into it I found out that it was caused by GPU acceleration which Spotify, Steam and iCue use (and many other apps). For Spotify it was easy, you can simply uncheck the box and problem solved. But for iCue and Steam I've not been able to fix it. Does anyone know if there is a fix, that I can force F@H to use the card as much as it wants? There must be something that tells F@H to slow down so the other software can use the GPU.. Here is a little example. First block is idle Second block is folding with nothing else running Third block is steam and folding Fourth block is back to folding.
  19. Sounds interesting! You might need a little bit of luck with those cards, but if you buy a late-model card it can't be that bad.
