  1. That's a sweet pump E! I decided to go with a normal D5, but it took some time to make up my mind. Pretty sure it'll serve you well the coming years!
  2. That is some interesting stuff! Wonder what the 30xx range will do folding wise, but for now I'm happy with the 2080ti.
  3. Okay, interesting.. The slot is still at idle showing "ready"? Just curious, what is the client showing for work server ip if you click on the inactive slot?
  4. Did you get it working? After some reading on the folding forum I found out that we're not the only ones with this error. It is somehow server related, but afaik it's still not solved. (did not work an hour ago before "fixing" it) I fixed it for now by getting rid of the "beta" flag, for it appeared to be the reason I was connecting with the faulty server. As soon as I changed to advanced and clicked "pause" and "fold" again it started right away. So if you are using the beta flag you can give this a try ?
  5. Good to hear about the system working now! Getting some hardware into the case gives an idea how big it really is Also, thanks to Mr. Anonymous for the generous 1070 donation ?
  6. I'm not sure what it is, but I have the same thing going on for the second rig CPU client. It's been on ready for a few hours. Searching the internet as we speak ?
  7. IN Bastiaan_NL Always love competitions like these :wheee:
  8. Happy to help The top radiator was a bit too tall with this case and motherboard combination, the ram is up pretty high on the board so the middle "push fan" can't be installed. I already knew that, but I went with this one anyways cause I'm pretty sure even with 5 fans it'll cool better than a 30 rad with 6 fans. Just wondering, how much power does that Ryzen use? The 7700K uses close to 90w, not that much heat added to the loop compared to the 300w from the 2080Ti.
  9. So I had to try my setup out before having an answer. With a single D5 with the reservoir on top, a 420 and 280 rad(both 45 thickness) a CPU and GPU block, my GPU temp doesn't go over 45c with 27c ambient in my room. That is with about 300Watt usage on the GPU and the CPU at ~60% load. All 1/2 ID tubing and not a single 90 degree fitting. I think you'll be good with one pump ? I did go with what worked best for my loop order, but it also happens to be what I prefer anyways. Pump - GPU - 420 rad - CPU - 280 rad - pump. For now I'm running the fan speed at 70%, push pull Corsair ML140 pro's, and the pump at 75%. Ambient dropped a few degrees, but still steady between 40c and 45c.
  10. That explains why I couldn't find the rads It's a lot of radiator for the setup, but it pays off ?
  11. That's a pretty sweet setup you have there Do you have the other 3 radiators, the reservoirs and the 4 pumps mounted on a stand or something?
  12. Thanks for the information @franz and @tictoc ? Once I have the main rig back up and running it'll be the next thing on my list!
  13. There's always something to keep you entertained.. Good luck ?
  14. Hey @franz, do you think Ubuntu on a VM will give you the same boost or would it be less? I have been thinking about installing Ubuntu on my second rig, cause it's a dedicated system. After seeing this I should have gone that route..
  15. Thanks I've never used SLI/Xfire, but I guess one 2080ti is powerfull enough for gaming anyways Only for folding I had 2 or 3 GPU's in a system, but never for gaming. With your possible upgrade to 30xx in mind it's a good thing to do I guess! I'd love to have a second 2080ti in my system for folding, but the power usage is already a bit high (~37 euro's a week for both systems at 1kw/h). With an other added 300W it would be almost 50 euro's for electricity a week for folding alone, and it's also getting a bit warm in my room And I would need to get a new PSU for that too, 850W would be nearly maxed out, I'm seeing a good 550-600W depending on the units with the CPU only folding at 50% and the GPU maxed out.
  16. So, we are already past 600 and slowly climbing up on the 500 page. :wheee: Both my machines are doing great with the units I've been given the past days. With the perfect scenario I'm getting over 6.5mil ppd on the 5700xt's and the 2080ti combined. Soon the main system will go offline for some major overhauling, new case and new watercooling setup. Already working on it, but even with a case they call "XL" it's still a tight fit. Should have gone with a 1000D I guess ?
  17. Sounds like pretty good temps, although it still confuses me that those junction temps are so much higher than the edge temps. 35c is a lot of temp difference over such a small area. On my 5700xt's it's 15-20c higher than the edge temp. Ah okay, you already had that card. It's been a long time since I've had a blower cooler, but I still remember the 100% fan speed sound! Not that running the 2 5700xt's at 100% is a pleasure for the ears ?
  18. So that'll be another gpu for the main rig?
  19. That's a lot of copper! What are your temps like with all those rads? Looks good, and added an other 1+mil ppd I see ? Can't wait for my watercooling stuff to arrive. 280 and 420 xt45 rads, GPU block for the 2080ti etc. And it's all going in a new Fractal Design Define 7 XL case :wheee: The second folding rig will go into the Haf 932 case after I get waterblocks for those GPU's too, but that'll have to wait for a bit.
  20. I totally agree with the drivers being the cause of many problems. Reinstalling the drivers did not fix my issues though, MSI Afterburner was still not doing its job (wonky fancontrol, downclocking, vcore not adjustable etc. Turns out I wasn't the only one with the 5700xt having problems with software. I already removed the AMD control software right after installing the cards. Decided to reinstall the software and it works, clocks are locked and stable, and the fans do what I tell them
  21. If you removed the 580 I'd give the AMD control panel a try. It works good for me with the 5700xt's although I need to load the settings after each reboot. And sometimes it doesn't show the right values on the performance page, but I use GPU-Z to check everything and keep an eye on max temps, vcore etc. Make sure to close MSI Afterburner if you use the AMD control, they don't work together.
  22. Nice one ? You could always try to fold half the power or something, to keep it all going. I know I will once everything will heat up over here. Today I wasn't folding all out, the power went out and I have been working till 11pm. 10+ hours at idle
  23. That's awesome! Thanks to all who donated ?
  24. Sooo, last eoc update showed 30mil :wheee: All the clients are working hard to get some work done ? @NavJack27 I don't see any gains from the small packet size. The units are a bit smaller, so a bit more units per day, but the average ppd with all the random units is a bit lower. Yes there was a moment with a good unit where the ppd was higher than the big units, but that has only happened once. So for the work unit count it's good, overall ppd doesn't really matter.
