  1. Ah bummer, that's a bit too far away. If you go with MSI, replacing the thermal pads will give you a pretty big decrease in memory temps.
  2. If you were going for Nvidia not so much, but I wouldn't recommend AMD at this point if you don't have some specific reasons why you'd like a red card. My 1660ti is folding between 1.3 and 1.5 million points a day with a maximum of 150 watt power draw. I haven't seen my 5700xt's above 1.1 million ppd for the last two weeks, but they are maxing out at 200 watt. So for the 1660ti it's 8000 to 10000 points per watt and for the 5700xt it's about 5000 to 6000 points per watt.
  3. 100% agree about the software! I only had one issue a few times, where I pressed shift in MW2 and it switched to the Steam in game page. Not sure why that happened, but now you mention it I remembered it.
  4. Welcome SamsTechStuff! I see you've set up your F@H too, creeping up in my rearview mirror
  5. Hey there Avacado, welcome to EHW
  6. That looks pretty Sir Beregond! I have the same kinda tubing in 2 systems, and I love it. It stands out from all the hardware and looks better than clear tubing in my cases.
  7. I'm still active in the F@H section on OCN, and some threads here and there. But besides that I prefer to be here
  8. Where are you from @Darkpriest667? I have an MSI 5700XT Mech OC that'll be replaced soon..
  9. Welcome Sir Beregond I miss the old days on OCN, the F@H section was always a good place to hang out.
  10. I've got a Sennheiser PXC550. I take it with me to hotels and ships (lots of ambient noise), and I fall asleep with it almost every night. Also at home, active noise cancelling and some music and I'm out ?
  11. That is some great news! I'm stoked for you, and I can't wait to see more updates As for the cpu mounting, nothing beats the lga 115x cpu mounting imo. I love AMD, but pulling the cooler/waterblock with some sticky paste is anxiety level 9000+
  12. I've got a Corsair K95 Platinum with MX Brown switches, I really love it! I used a bunch of mech boards from my brother to decide what I like the most, and I ended up with the browns. The RGB is pretty cool, but one thing I dislike is that I'm only able to save basic RGB profiles on the board. I hate running all kinds of software for the RGB, so basic (custom) lighting it is
  13. Good to hear E! Best of luck moving, and don't lift too heavy
  14. Good to hear that you'll get the money back!
  15. That's a good motivation! And I like reading along
  16. 700000:91x130=1000000 lol, that is perfect
  17. I was pretty happy with the 1mil it did before, but with the new cuda support it's really doing a great job! It's at about 100mhz core overclock, depending on the temps. I decided to lower the fan speed to keep it a bit more quiet. Have fun with overhauling the systems, I always love the proces of building/rebuilding a pc Sounds about where I expected a non ti to be. What is the power draw at those units for the 1660? On the p13426 the 1660ti is at 2100mhz core with 130w 1mil ppd, running a bit colder so clocking a bit higher.
  18. I noticed a good amount of points on your account! Good to have a folding heater Not sure if I mentioned it already, but the 1660ti is at 1.5 million points with the 1740x units! 145w on 2070mhz core. I love that card
  19. It will be hard not to run the 2080s 24/7 with ppd like that! That's more than a 2080ti on a normal unit.. My 5700xt's are about the same. 1.3mil on a 17402 unit with no oc, under water and with max power limit.
  20. That was something I was afraid of, but with the weight of a few fingers on it the balance point is still somewhere in the middle of the mouse. No noticeable resistance from the added weight, to be honest it feels better! Even if I'm trying to tip it over to the right by pressing on the outer right edge of the support I need to press pretty hard to make it tip over. There is about 60 grams (if the scale is correct) on right of the right outer slide pad and about 100 grams on the left, placing the balance point only a little off center from the original mouse. I've been using it for a few weeks this way, doing lots of browsing and a good few hours of Warzone without wanting to remove the support.
  21. A few months ago I decided to replace my Logitech G500s with a Corsair M65 RGB Elite on the main system, so the G500s could be used on any of the other systems if needed. I've been using the M65 for many hours, but after some time I noticed that there was not enough support for my ring finger and the little finger is always dragging over my mousepad. This is not a big deal for a short period of time, but gaming a few hours causes some numbness in my hand from trying to hold my fingers up. On the G500s is a little edge next to the right mouse button, big enough for the ring finger automatically holding the little finger up a bit. On the M65 the whole top is a button, so no place to rest a finger other than pushing it to the side of the cover. To fix this and enjoy the mouse even more I decided to get some 2 component plastic and add a support to the right side of the mouse. First I had to take the whole mouse apart to get to the clips holding the right plastic cover in place, forgot to take pictures at that time, and removed it. I drilled 2 holes for screws in the cover, so the screws could support the weight of 2 fingers and the big chunk of plastic that I was going to add. After that I molded the plastic to the cover and gave it a shape I thought would be good to rest my fingers on. To "bake" the 2 comp plastic I placed the support on a GPU running Folding @ Home, nice and warm After installing the modded support and giving it a quick test I was very happy with the result. It doesn't look perfect, but it's impossible to see that with my hand on the mouse. The added weight makes it feel much better in my hand, and no more numb fingers! According to Corsair it weighs 97 grams in its original state (not sure if that's with the little weight inserts), and after the mod my scale said 159 grams. The added width is 15mm in the middle and 20mm in the front and rear. Here are some pictures:
