  1. ...in case someone wants to or needs to get a new 4080 now, I would recommend the 4080 Super or even 4070 Ti Super instead, otherwise, just wait for Blackwell (RTX "5k"). I am sure glad I picked up my custom PCB 4090 (600W) back in the fall of '22 at the intro price - it is more expensive now as the big AD 102 chips are also in heavy demand for AI cards for the workstation and enterprise markets. NVidia is selling a boat load of those at a much higher margins.
  2. ...Need more Powaah ! Aye aye, Captain !
  3. ...and more HDR stunningness which is breathtaking on a big OLED
  4. ...get a decent mobo and RAM (I'm running 'native' DDR5 7200 2x 24 GB at 8000.)..with a 2x CCD Ryzen 7K, it makes a difference...started with 'XMP' (no Expo) which was child's play...a few re_boots later I was at 8000...the fun started 'tuning' it, along with per-core CO (curve optimizer). But straight out of the box with XMP and PBO was easy as 1-2-3
  5. @ENTERPRISE ...these 7950X3D are among the most fun I've had playing with a CPU...a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde character. The voltage limitations are a good thing, IMO, as it forces one to look for other avenues.
  6. some digital desert after too much turkey and eggnog... CCG0 vs CCD1 results are interesting
  7. some breathtaking visuals
  8. ...grew up in NW Europe; Christmas Eve was/is the day for opening presents and such after Christmas Eve church service. Christmas Day was for visits, or visitors, and a big Christmas feast after which everybody moaned that they ate too much...
  9. Per-core CO can be quite a chore / not unlike overclocking RAM. I trust you are using SMUdebug for per-core CO, or even per-CCD or all-core?
  10. ...had a bit of time today for some benching w/ eclk 105, no per-core CO yet, just Aorus 90L6 PBO enhancement (an all-core CO or sorts). Glad that this all ran fine with no extra voltage boost via per-core CO at a 5% overclock
  11. ...some of his stuff is quite good, including MPT tools (AMD Navi21 etc) and more. However, this was/is a royal f___-up. The fact that Igor trusted another YouTuber's testing without doing his own (at least) spot-checks and then publish it under his name is a trust-buster and reputation killer. What is really disturbing and should have been a giant red flag is that Alphacool's own published specs were nowhere near what alter-Igor came to conclude; Alphacool's own specs are within what serios testers are finding within the same test conditions. There are other 'false' claims which were made when this fan was first tested (not sure if that was on 'Igor's' piece as well or someplace else), specifically the outer ring which connects each blade - my 11-year-old GentleTyphoon have that
  12. Yes, that's the board (X670E Master). I think there is an updated version that doesn't use the Intel NIC as some folks seem to have problems with it (mine works just fine with the Intel NIC). FYI, I have tested bios with Agesa from 1.0.0.7c to 1.1.0.0. The F13c (1.0.0.7c) bios for that board is my favourite. Note that this is a 4-dimm board (one of the best, IMO). I think @kaliz can also tell you more about some nice ASRock boards as well re. good RAM oc etc
  13. ...more technical wizardry for audio video fans, best enjoyed on OLED and a (very) good sound setup...
  14. ...nope; I stopped doing HWBot / elite (sub-zero) years back, but 'technically', I am still a member of another smaller team
  15. @Bastiaan_NL ...a bit of Benchmate fun for old times' sake (HWBot subzero) Normal game settings, ambient temp was 26 C, no special prep - I really like this 7950X3D and the 670E Aorus Master
  16. ...three things come to mind right away: 1.) What happens when you take that TR CPU with the 'triggered' fuse and place it into a new, different mobo. Will it still show 'triggered' 2.) Lenovo and Co played that game already with TR 5K series CPUs. 3.) Many folks have been happily using AMD's Ryzen 'Master Utility for Overclocking Control' for their private Ryzen OCs (similar in the mobo bios); of course AMD will know whether you oc'ed or not, for example regarding warranty claims.
  17. ...does it know about its upcoming fate, icy North winds and desert-hot memory / controllers coming its way ?
