Not really surprising. The cheapest MacBook you can get is the Air at $1000 and the cheapest Mac you can get is Mac Mini for $700 (doesn't include keyboard, mouse/trackpad or monitor). You can get ChromeBooks for as little is $180. Given that almost no one has a laptop/desktop any more, at least before the pandemic and now they need one to do work/school from home, they're going to buy the cheapest one they can.

Oh yeah, I meant to reply to that. I did try that out, it does push my CPU close to the max temp so I don't really want to do that. I'm fine with my GPU temps, those only get up to 65c with the fans at 30%.

Each WU I get these days takes 2hrs10mins - 2hrs30mins to complete on my 2070. I have no idea what settings, I'm pretty sure they're at the default ones.

I'm sure some of your technical posts also had the 3rd option in the replies of "google it" I know this because nearly every single time I search for help with something on Bing, I get to a forum post with someone having the same problem and there's always a reply in there, usually the 1st -3rd reply saying "google it"

I did some testing and it looks like I'm not going to get into tier 1. In order for me to do 12+ WUs a day, I need to be folding for 28 hours a day.

Coinbase and Kraken are the best for this sort of thing, I'd recommend Coinbase as they're going to be a public trading company and therefore will be forced to have consumer protection. I personally just went with Uphold (at least for now) because it was the only one that would validate me in a reasonable amount of time, I wanted to get in with the Dogecoin pump and dump before it was too late. I made the right choice because my Coinbase validation email just came through yesterday and it said the ID I provided wasn't good enough. Coinbase does seem to have the best support for offline wallets as well. Given that cryptocurrency has no regulations, you shouldn't consider any coin you bought to actually be yours until it's stored in an offline wallet. As soon as I get my money back after fees, I'm going to cash out on Uphold and move to Coinbase.

As it turns out, there's not much of a difference as far as PPD goes between my 1600 and 5800. I am in as well.

Ayyy, I forgot about folding. I'm having a go at folding on my CPU this time so I can see what sort of PPD I can get from it. I got 26,000 PPD from my R5 1600. I am also folding with my GPU as well because that's the most efficient.
