And that's the issue. If you do delete your Steam account, every purchase you have made will be lost with no way of recovering, Valve does make this very clear. But if you do get banned on Steam, you at least still have access to your account and will still be able to play the games you have downloaded. You will only be blocked from using the marketplace, trading and playing games online that use VAC. There is an exception to this and that's hijacked accounts.
The difference between Oculus and any of the other stores is, you can use a fake name. In fact, some of them have a randomly generating username for you to use that includes numbers. On Facebook, you can't use an obviously fake name, you have to use at least a real sounding one. If you use a name that seems fake, you will get banned and the only way to get unbanned is to send them a scan of photo ID, so passport, drivers license, government issued ID, etc. Given how many data breaches Facebook has had over the years and what you can do with that sort of ID, I absolutely do not trust them to keep any form of ID secure.
And given that, I absolutely would not create a Facebook account to use the Oculus store or buy any future Oculus hardware. You get banned for something you didn't even do and don't trust them to keep something as "dangerous" as photo ID safe, you will lose all of your games. This isn't a thing that happens with any other store.
