  1. Oh yeah, I know it's on developers who do that as well, but those developers aren't spouting off about "MORE CHOICE IS BETTER!" As far as first party games go, I'm fine with those being exclusively on the one platform. This does also include developers who decide to use Steam exclusively. They chose to only sell their game on that platform, Valve didn't pay them to do so.
  2. It did lmao. My computer is not booting anymore. It's doing a BIOS beep thing, but it's not loading Windows. It's not showing any display anymore and it's switching off the USB ports. I did have this issue a while ago, the fix was to unplug the computer and plug it back in. Hopefully 2004 does fix my sound issues that I've been having since I did an update a couple of weeks ago where my sound only works through my headphones. I can't get sound through any other outputs including my VR which is really annoying because my headphones don't fit over the headset.
  3. There's still hypocrisy there. The argument of "you can just buy it a year later" doesn't really work for most people because by then, they've lost interest in those games and they end up never buying it. I know that's going to happen with me because I was interested in Heavy Rain and Outer Worlds and now Hitman 3. I never bought Heavy Rain or Outer Worlds, and I'll likely end up not buying Hitman 3.
  4. Well, about an hour after posting that, I did a manual check in the update thing in Windows and it was there.
  5. Weird that we're now in September and I still haven't had the May update available for me. I would download it and install it manually, but I did get my Windows key for a suspiciously cheap price on Amazon from a third party seller that's no longer on the platform so I'd rather not risk installing it from an ISO and my key no longer works.
  6. Tim Sweeney is just acting like a child who didn't get his toys. What he could have done to avoid all of this is just increase the price of Vbucks on iOS exclusively by 30% and put out a tweet (both Epic Store account and Fortnite account) as well as emails explaining why they've done it and how customers could get around paying extra by just buying Vbucks on PC instead. This would have gone around the Apple ToS where Apple have no control. I do agree with Tim Sweeneys message with this, however the way he's dealing with it, as well as using the analogies on his personal twitter account of "in the real world if the price of something is too much in one store, you could just go across the street and get it from another store for cheaper, you can't do that on iOS" while at the same time buying exclusives for EGS on PC from third party developers so you can't buy those games from the "cheaper alternatives" as he put it. In this case I'm talking about Hitman 3 which on PC, is only going to be available on EGS with no release date for Steam/GOG. This is the reason why I want to see Epic lose this court case. If they weren't doing this, I'd be all for them winning it.
  7. Update from Apple: That's just standard procedures when a lawsuit is happening. I think regardless of the outcome of the lawsuit, Apple will bring their developer tools back to iOS and macOS. Unless it's a scam app, Apple don't ban developers entirely.
  8. Why's that? There's a lot of rumours going around that one of the reasons why Cyberpunk got delayed again is because it's supposed to be included in a "bundle" when you buy a new RTX 3000 card. CDPR do seem to have some sort of deal going on with nVidia.
  9. Oh yeah, Cyberpunk is a good one. I forgot about that game. I've been meaning to buy it. Forza Motorsport 8 some time at the end of this year as well assuming it doesn't get delayed. It should have a free demo with benchmarking in.
  10. Oh, yeah I know it's not dead, but it's getting there. There really aren't a lot of games that support it anymore with the list of games that do support it getting smaller and smaller.
  11. Yeah, multi-GPU has been dying for some time now. Getting more than one GPU for gaming these days is just a waste.
  12. They're industry standard. Steam, Sony and Microsoft (at least on Xbox, not sure about Windows Store) all charge 30%. I do agree it's way too high, I think it should be 10% absolute max, but I don't know why Epic aren't going after Sony and Microsoft as well.
  13. Yeah I do, people with review copies and 2080Tis are getting 20-30fps maxed out at 4K.
  14. Red Dead Redemption 2. That really uses a lot of GPU power. I struggle at 4K 30fps on mostly high with an RTX 2070. The new flight sim game as well, that's incredibly demanding at higher graphics settings.
  15. Range isn't really an issue anymore. The average American only drives something like 70 miles per day IIRC. Purpose made electric cars have ranges of around 300-400 miles. What needs to be worked on is improved safety. There's been a few crashes involving electric cars where they catch on fire and they're impossible to put out because they just auto-ignite once the fire suppression stops. There's no real benefit to consumer electronics either, not yet anyway. A lot of laptops are already at the limit of what the FAA will allow on a plane.
  16. We're back with another Extras episode!
  17. To be fair, a lot of manufacturers are moving out of HDDs as SSDs become cheaper and have just as much capacity, sometimes more than HDDs.
  18. I actually didn't know they still made laptops. I haven't seen a new one for sale for years now.
  19. It's the thing the motor moves to make the windows go brrrrr
