Why do you have the graphics turned down so low? I'm re-downloading the game now after upgrading my CPU from an i7 7700K to a 3700x. This might be one of the few games that shows some improvement with the new CPU for me, will find out soon.

Thanks man, very kind words and thanks to the others of you who replied. Did you ever play the mod? I've actually thought about doing a version 3 of the mod several times but I didn't think it would be worth it for an older game. If the Crysis remaster supported mods, I would do it but as of now I don't think that's possible. That could change though, digital foundry seems to be pressuring crytek to update the game to include the editor. I saw that crytek actually added back in the vtol level in a recent update for the remaster so who knows, maybe they will add the editor as well eventually.

Haha yea and the mod especially. He's not really using the extra nano suite powers very well. You can basically run up right behind an enemy really fast, cloak, then Choke them over and over if you switch nano suite modes quicky, among other cool sort of combo things that he never really explored. Still really cool to find his videos. I asked him if he liked the mod and he said "medium mod" which I said with a Russian accent in my head. ? I'm not a modder or anything, I just spent a lot of time messing around with the free cryengine editor they came with far cry 1 and Crysis 1. I figured out I could easily alter the enemies to make them harder as well as just copy paste them to make more, and the nano suite changes were just a simple config file. This is pretty random but when I was a teenager (32 now) I made a mod for Crysis 1 that I called the super powers mod 1 and 2 (made 2 versions). Somehow I stumbled upon a Russian YouTube channel in which someone made a full playthrough of my mod. It's a small channel but it made me really happy to find. Feels good to have my mod gain a little appreciation even if it's over a decade later. I don't have any IRL friends that would really understand what I'm talking about here since not a lot of my real friends are big gamers so I just figured I'd share it here.

I figure my gf and I will eventually get into Valheim, it does look really fun but were holding off because we've played a lot of other similar survival/base building games together and we're a little burned out on it right now but as soon as we're not, that's on the top of our list. I agree an EHW server would be really cool, I think there is already a minecraft server.

Just a thread to talk about games. What are you playing now and what do you like about it? I've been playing dragon ball z kakarot. Not the type of game I usually play but it was on sale and as someone who watches the show as a kid it looked like a cool nostalgia trip and now I'm totally hooked to it, the combat is really fun. Also Dyson sphere program is a cool new factory game in which you travel the stars to build a Dyson sphere, it's very cool but takes a really long time.

I just went from Intel to amd and this is my first amd build. I can relate on feeling like the tweak ability is disappointing. Coming from Intel it feels like overclocking is essentially pointless, but I have to remember that it's also pretty pointless on Intel now too. CPUs are running at higher and higher clock speeds and basically taking over the overclocking themselves with better and better boost/turbo capabilities. We're never going to have gains even half as good as what sandy bride gave us again and overclocking today is way more hobby than practical. It used to be really practical.

I don't think anyone doubted this would be possible but we don't know how labor intensive it is to do. Could be possible but not worth the effort for most, I hope.

Damn, that just seems like way too much ram for a phone. What could a phone do to even use that much ram?

I saw this on a different site and I was going to post in as news here but I didn't because the article didn't say anything about the performance gain. I had to look it up myself, in the video his 16GB 3070 gets about 13750 IIRC for the 3Dmark graphics score which is up about ~1000 points from a standard 8GB 3070, so less than a 10% gain but definitely more than nothing.

I bought the wireless mouse I have now specifically for fps games like cs. I don't really play cs anymore but the mouse works great. If you watch the video I linked it shows that wireless mouse tech is basically on par with wired mice now.

Apple definitely needs to do something with their computer market space, either take it more seriously or just drop it and make cheaper lower power devices. These next few year will be interesting to watch for sure. If I had to guess I'd bet apple will have a little more trouble going full on with their own silicon than they would hope for but will eventually be successful.

Gotta keep in mind that intel motherboards are more expensive though

Will they let you keep the one you have and send you another one when they get one in stock so you can glue it and use it in the meantime? I suppose if you had to you could also send it back once they have more in stock.

Damn that's a bummer. Maybe you can send some pics to the store you got it from and they can send you another one without making you send the broken one back so you can use it in the meantime. Looks like a pretty clean break, could probably glue it.

Actually in that link it looks like there is a cheaper seller on amazon selling it for $300, looks like that's actually a better deal than ebay at the moment.

Imacs are the only apple PCs I kinda like, and only because I've done so many hard drive replacements/upgrades on them that I got used to them. They're really the only desktop apple PCs anyone buys anymore and trendy small stores/business love to use them like they're a fashion statement. The picture you included is of a mac pro right? I find it to be ugly to the extreme, partly because when I look at it I can't help but immediately think about how over-engineered and a waste of money that design is; it serves no purpose beyond inflating the cost.
