  1. Maybe i'm missing it, but I would love an easier way to see a list of threads that I have created, not just recent activity. This is a feature I loved about OCN and would love to see here. I create more threads than I can feasibly remember. Would make it easier for going back and updating projects that I neglect for months.
  2. Thought the photo was lost on OCN, but it somehow reappeared. This was the Antec 900 Q6600 TT build that got me into OCing. I think the card is a 8800 GTX. Sexy cable management, I know.
  3. I will only post here if @The Pook insults my 9900k multi-threaded score BEFORE I post.
  4. You should totally do it. Building older systems you couldn't afford when they were new feels great. It's also fun touching back on early overclocking. TBH, I had all but forgotten how to OC FSB etc... The pictures are long gone but if you want a laugh you can look at some of my older threads on OCN. E4300 I love parts, I have a mini PPCS in the dungeon. If you can't find what you need to build, repair or restore any computer part in my basement, you shouldn't be working on a PC. Building setups and loops is my favorite part about computing.
  5. Yea, they lost me here. They can't be serious. "While the Alder Lake processor will fit into the LGA1700 socket, motherboards will almost certainly need to be updated to accommodate the Core i9-12900KS."
  6. Browsing Amazon Egypt doesn't elicit things even remotely close for the price point. Amazon.eg : ryzen WWW.AMAZON.EG I mean this is decent. Didn't look to see if the RAM could be expanded upon. https://www.amazon.eg/-/en/DELL-Vostro-3515-Laptop-Anti-glare/dp/B09NZP9V9R/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=ryzen&pf_rd_i=21832907031&pf_rd_m=A1ZVRGNO5AYLOV&pf_rd_p=1d025c11-7b0e-4b5e-aa6d-4fc0ac149c42&pf_rd_r=BNH66PBG5Y02G96SX3QN&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-6&pf_rd_t=101&qid=1641230495&refinements=p_n_feature_fifteen_browse-bin%3A22079580031&rnid=22079564031&s=computers&sr=1-4
  7. I spent 10 minutes looking and this was all I could come up with. Is our dev in the states or UK? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-refurbished-elitebook-840-g3-14-laptop-intel-core-i5-16gb-memory-256gb-solid-state-drive-black/6445052.p?skuId=6445052
  8. Kind of makes me feel like crap. I just spent $250 on QDC's and our dev has a $500 budget for a new rig to develop the site. I can make a donation to the site to up his purchasing power. Paypal to the site E?
  9. It's not a secret. I recruit quality writing when I see it. Take a look at his writing, you'll se why. He is exactly the kind we need here. Attention Required! | Cloudflare WWW.OVERCLOCK.NET
  10. Don't try to wrap your head around it Teddy Brosevelt.
  11. Exactly. I am pretty fortunate in having funds for hobbies. The only reason I bought it is because I am tired of getting creamed on HWBot. ADL is leaving my 9900k @5.4GHz in the dust.
  12. Seriously Shawn? $1300? I knew I have seen that jacket before.
  13. Welcome to the forums brosef!
  14. Is it too late to talk about the gross spicy ad contained in the price of your current rig? Though you can always have that for free BB
  15. Love the board (DDR5). I own the DDR4 version (ASUS z690-p) as well because I am waiting on a RAM RMA. The DDR4 board is crap. Limited features, no POST LED indication lights AT ALL on the mobo, RAM training problems etc... I can go on and on. I will be returning the DDR4 board. Please do your homework when buying the DDR4 version. They quite possibly could suffer from mounting pressure issues. There are 2 possible mounting configurations that the board allows for. I chose the closer pattern and have been satisfied. The block is a direct attachment (No mounting springs). I could certainly see how putting too much torque on either configuration would lead to bowing in the middle of the coldplate causing inadequate contact. There is no mounting plate for the rear of the board. Temperatures are definitely more than I am used to coming from a delidded 9900k. But still manageable @ 8/16 5.3GHz all core. I honestly did the RMA before I really got to do any sufficient testing. More than happy to talk in a PM about it or maybe I should create an ADL thread...
  16. Fair. I will say I just picked up a 12900KF, ASUS Z690-A, DDR5 5600. I bought a new Optimus block that fits the 1700 socket well. They had it in stock and it was at my door a week after ordering.
  17. It has been nice building at a relaxing pace. Build is halfway completed. I debated for awhile about putting the RAM under water, but decided against it. I should have plenty of airflow from the openings on the testbench and flow from the RAD fans. I did give the Copperheads some love and restored them to pristine condition. Before: After: Halfway picture of build. Still have to connect the other 240 RAD and the GPU blocks. Trying to make it in a way so that the CPU and GPU's are modular and can be hot swapped.
  18. Iv'e heard people complaining about gunk. It doesn't matter how many NM something is. No colored coolant is immune. Run the X1 or MMM clear (Mayhems Blend)
  19. Better than v1.0 with the duct tape on the bottom rad.
  20. Indeed. Going to run 2x4GB sticks. These just came. Not worried about heat. I have the NB/SB and VRM 1 under water. I was actually looking at clearances to delid. Should be fun.
  21. If you build it, they will come. You should open your museum and charge admission.
