  1. Well it looks like they are going to refund me, no mention of sending anything back which makes sense as they would not be able to sell it on and the cost to them for return shipping likely does not make it viable. Repair time !
  2. Our official review of this will be up today/tomorrow
  3. Guess everyone gets a bad egg from time to time
  4. Yeah I was not going to do a repair until after I hear back from them as to not shoot myself in the foot.
  5. Yeah looks like Alphacool are back on pre-order so doubt I will get a timely replacement. What I will say is that the broken standoff is in the bottom corner by the power connectors so its not actually detrimental. However I may give this a go : https://www.amazon.co.uk/TENSOL-Acrylic-Adhesive-Perspex-Bonding/dp/B07G4Z1PFT/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=acrylic+glue&qid=1615227150&sprefix=acrylic+glue&sr=8-9 Apparently it softens the surfaces so the surfaces re-bond as opposed to just glue. I have used it before but not in this scenario lol.
  6. Hmmm wondering if using this would be safe and better than super glue : https://www.amazon.co.uk/TENSOL-Acrylic-Adhesive-Perspex-Bonding/dp/B07G4Z1PFT/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=acrylic+glue&qid=1615227150&sprefix=acrylic+glue&sr=8-9
  7. Hmmm looks like Bykski messed up their block for my GPU looking at these reviews : https://www.bykski.us/collections/gtx-rtx-3080-3090/products/bykski-full-coverage-gpu-water-block-and-backplate-for-evga-rtx-3090-3080-ftw3-ultra-gaming-n-ev3090ftw3-x
  8. It is an idea but such a PITA to fit the block only to remove it later to fit a replacement. Call me lazy lol AC make good products..just a bummer this happened. I will look but not sure if Bykski and Phanteks do blocks for the EVGA FTW3 Ultra Gaming.
  9. I may just glue it. Just checked, they are out of stock for like a month. Unless they keep stock back for RMA purposes...may not fancy waiting that long. What is for sure, I am getting a partial refund if I decide to use it.
  10. I have sent them the images of the break, so I am just waiting for them to get back to me. Have to admit I really could do without the hassle of shipping it back, but whatever gets the job done I suppose. Yeah for sure, you could just glue it back into place, if I was desperate enough.
  11. *Sigh* So I ordered an Alphacool block for my EVGA 3090. Been waiting ages as....well everything has been out of stock. So I received it today all giddy, but then bam! it is busted. It is the stand off to the rear of the block for accepting the backplate, no idea how it got damaged as all the packaging was immaculate, so I guess it may have been packed, broken somewhere then boxed up and set out. Sent out a mayday to their support so I am hoping I can get a replacement sent out and not have to wait the next eon. Granted I could likely live with this as it is not a huge issue so far as the operability, but when you pay for something you expect it not to be borked. Please press F to pay respects.
  12. Yeah it really sucks that it sort of went by the wayside. I am hoping that in the future I will be working with @mllrkllr88 & @Jedson3614 on bringing these back
  13. Hmm poor elderly people. Will have to let you know how I get on
  14. I will be using the standard 24pin ATX cable with a split off to jump the second PSU Yeah the AIO will use a push/pull config in order to help push air from the AIO through the case to the rear. Likely aiming for the EK- Basic AIO 360mm, should do the job nicely and not nuts on cost.
  15. Small update to the CFP V2.0 So the motherboard fits in the Xcase Mining Case. However the PSU I had will no longer fit due to the motherboards CEB form factor. So I will be purchasing a smaller PSU to fit. Which means after testing I will sell the EVGA G2 1300Watt PSU. Corsair will also kindly be providing a 1000Watt PSU as the secondary power supply, kudos to them for that. Furthermore I have purchased a GeForce 710 that will act as the systems interface card as the Tesla M40's have no output ports, so that is covered. Though I am going to mod this case to allow the ports to show out of the case as you would have normally, just makes life easier for management. Also purchased a WD Blue 500GB SSD for the OS. Due to space limitations between CPU IHS and the bottom of the folding GPU's, a decent air cooler will not be viable, so will be going for a 360mm AIO to satisfy that requirement. Will create a build thread for this soon with all the details. Just a small update for now.
  16. Never had issues with Hardware Labs radiators. Great quality.
  17. Think it is time to sell the 1070 and put the cash made into the F@H CFP lol.
  18. Welcome ! Hard to forget the username, I do remember it from days gone by. Good to have you here. Good luck with the degree bud. E
  19. Will keep the fingers crossed, let's just hope that a BIOS update has left you with a stable system. I am not sure what the release notes were with your BIOS but I am sure they tweak with more items than what they put in the release notes, so sometimes trying a new BIOS even if your problem is not explicitly states, is worth a shot.
